Purple Urkle Lineage?

Hello IC!!

I have been growing the PU for years now and managed to lose it. My two mothers and my friends mother have all died. This sucks!!!

First time I couldn't save a plant. Anyhoo...

I don't know how common the cut is. I am on the east coast.

This is a very dear strain to me. Anyone know the lineage or her?
Some have said Lavender x unknown indica. I buy the Lavender part but any info would be awesome!

Thanks in advance for any replies! :)

Interesting thanks for the replies!

I have some beans from a plant I stressed. Maybe something good will come of that.

When I am able to post pics I will get some up.

So no one is sure of the lineage. Maybe someone will chime in with more info.

Also are any breeders or seed makers working on an S1 ?

Have read a few places that Urkel came from a Purps selection.

What does anyone think about that? Anyone grown out both the PU and the Purps? I am sure several have out there in Cali.

I may have to investigate the purps as I would have to start from seed.

My goal is to find something in bean form as close to PU as possible.

Thanks everyone for your inputs!

That's interesting Frank, I have only heard mention of Krinkle a few times. I did some research and its a very interesting strain. Thanks for chiming in!

Well I acquired several Grape Stomper clones. Actually not knowing a thing about this stomper. Turns out it has Urkle in it. Will be keen to flower this out and see what's up. Getting some finished today to try so we shall see.

A friend had some querkle. Pretty good but nowhere in the league of the

Purple Urkle comes from a indica phenotype of Mendocino Purps, I believe it was crossed with either Northern Lights or Gods gift, I'l go look up my strain journal and find it if I can.

the first time i grew what we now call the purps i couldnt sell it. nobody wanted black purple small dense pounds. that was 1998. flash forward 5 years and if you were not moving purple you were not moving. every body asked the same question then as they ask now? what is it?
i know the cut most likely didnt come from humboldt as thats where i live and our crew got it out of the bay area in 98 so i doubt it was bred here, went south and then came back with no one having a copy here. maybe but not likely.
we called it purple haze then. a few years into it i heard it called urkle and barney and those names were supposed to indicate that it was an even rarer version but you know how that bullshit is so no matter what the name you could always tell the flower from the orange hairs.
a few years after that the pretendicas came out. they looked like the purp but didnt smoke like the purp. could only sell it once lol. it started to be harder to find the real cut. og came out and eventually purp went away as far as top strain was concerned but during its run it was absolute ruler of the cali state.
what is it? who knows. solid indica that is very pm resistant outdoors and produces a fanatsic product outdoor here in humboldt. anybody grow it before 98? where did you get the cut from region wise? just like og-only the breeder really knows...

I've heard people theorize purps is an afghani, I've heard people say it was a mendo purps pheno. All I know is it's my favorite strain and my cutting came from Mendo 13 or 14 years ago. Sounds like you might have hooked me up! Thanks bro
