Cep, at least you caught the fucker. Did you beat his ass and take his clothes? lol...
Light dep is looking a whole lot more appetizing eh? I know I wont go another full season outdoors in the rainforest. Quality vibes to you and your scene, may everything get on the line safely and with ease.

Respectfully,

FE

high wind advisory combined with another fire less than a mile from the low elevation garden....2013 has been a BITCH!

the winds have done more damage than both rain spells, sitting out their all night protecting them from thieves and having to watch 12 foot plants get whipped with wind, it was hard to watch. I hope no more of that in the next couple of weeks.

That is why that plastic hortinetting is garbage. Vital Earth sells Green colored metal (large) cages that look as if they would support the plant much better. Next year I am going to use a couple of those, they are bigger than concrete re-mesh.

Prop - You have had a hell of a year, hope your finish is strong.

Id love to get something with a bit bigger sized square. The square sized on hortinet and the remesh is 6" x 6". Im thinking about 10" x 10" would be better, as it would be easier to use as a outside support, and you could pull it off in one piece much easier, and it could be reused. The amount of hortinet i through away each year is ridiculous. That being said, green tape sucks.

I had an idea for a camo colored pvc. Seems that would do very well, very well indeed....

I wouldn't agree that the plastic hortinova is garbage, the way the netting is just draped over a plant like most people do is stupid, next year I wont be lazy about really supporting my second layer.

I have yet to hear of anyone breaking hortinova. If you support the netting it'll support your plants, as it did for us through three inches of rain and 35+ mph winds over these last couple weeks.

Best wishes for sweet weather to fatten up our flowers.

I just cut bars out of my concrete mesh with wire cutters and make my own 12X? squares where I need 'em. Got to be careful not to go too crazy though or the cage will collapse. :D Concrete mesh topped with hortinova ftw.

Yeah I actually like the hortinova and had plans to reuse it with maybe more attachment points but that tweaker cut a bunch of it up. I had the stuff secured with heavy zip ties and gorilla tape. I'm aware that the zip ties don't handle uv light very well but they weren't out there long enough to get brittle. What happened was that the hortinova got shredded by abrasion at the connection points, which were too few. I'll use it again, but have many connection points and more layers.

organicbuds - can i get a link to the product caging from vital earth? I cant seem to find it. I am much more interested in something like remesh, but perhaps larger and even more stable?

Huh, I can't find it either GCG. The name of the company is actually Vital Garden Suppy. This year at the hydro show they had the "Greenwire, Reusable Coated Trellis" on display and they handed out booklets which have the product in it. However when I go to their website under Containers & Trellis (where it should be) nothing comes up. I will post up the specs in the booklet:

Perfect for row crops or vertical support
Easy to form, stretch and shape
No oily metal residue, wont rust
Finally, an easy garden trellis solution
Excelent for making custom cages

Rectangular hole size is 4" x 6"
Width 4' or 6'
Length 50', 100' or 300'

The stand outs for me is it's painted green with rust protection, 6ft tall and it comes in rolls. Hope this helps.

Edit: it looks similar to this product from the Home improvement place, but the measurements of the mesh size are different. http://www.homedepot.com/p/YARDGARD...rizontal1-1-_-NA-_-202024094-_-N#.UlGS89KThuI

pictures are not coming up for me sourD

Still working on it, but started to take down my 5g's red from GanjaRebelSeeds. Can't recommend this strain enough, easy to grow, potant fruity meds, fantastic yields and mold and mildew resistant. Not a spot of mildew, and only lost about 5-10% to catterpillars. Most strains usually lose 5-20% to caterpillars in my area, so very resistant.
