K.I.S.S users who use boost; I have a question...

The whole reason I started to use KISS was so I can run one reservoir for all my plants(Clones, mothers, veg, bloom). So far everyone is happy, especially me. Was so sick of dealing with different reservoir for each stage of the grow.

But since I like to experiment and refuse to keep it super simple I have been using flower boosters in bloom. The way I have been doing it however seems to be working great but I see no talk of it.

So what I have been doing is figuring how much water/feed each plant will be given, taking that number and using it to figure out how much the bottle recommends for that amount of water. I then just squirt that amount on the top of the medium, And water it down into the plant with the feed from my KISS reservoir.

Is this how most people are doing it and does this technique have a name?

Also, So I don't have to start another thread; Am I the only one who try's to fill my hempies so that there as little run off as possible. I know some people tests the run off also. I have never done that. I don't see why you would. Can anyone explain the point of testing the run off from a hempy using the KISS method?

Thanks all!

If it works it works, but I would be scared about unpredictable ec levels.

I've heard of having a base nute kiss style, then feeding all amendments via foliar.

the closest thing i can think of is a grow by Heath Robinson.

post #155 on pg 11 check it out.

on pg 7-8 Heath shows his hydro system and set-up.

I am confused as to what part of that post pertains to what part of my post?

I didn't see anything mentioning top feeding boost using the kiss method. Did I miss it?

Thanks for the input

no, i wasnt clear w/what i posted and how/if it related.

much diff system but Heath used a small ammt of pk during his entire flower cycle to keep it simple.

do you run a perpetual flower room or do all the plants flowering get chopped at the same time?

i have plants in diff stages of flower so i mix enough base nutes for veg and flower and for the plants needing liquid kb or dry kb ill add it to a gal/base nutes.

im using 2 diff nutes to see which one i like more but they are both easy to use.

GH FloraNova Bloom @ 8ml / gal tap

GH maxibloom @ 1 tsp / gal

id like 1 res but im not wanting to stop using the liquid kb or dry kb so i mix it in as needed.

!!BINGO!! Thanks homie. Thats exactly what I was wanting to know. How other KISS users are delivering boost while still maintaining one res.

And to answer the question on the stages of my flower area; I am all over the place. I have plants in all stages of flower. But everyone from '12/12 from seed' to plants about to be flushed are all getting fed from the same res.

im all over in flower also........got 70d strains next to 100-120d strains and i try to cut a plant or 2 every other week.

got 50 in my 4x4 veg tent so 1 res for base nutes and i mix liquid kb / dry kb in 1 gal milk jug when needed.

its as easy as ive found while using boosters.

good luck homie

Yeah your way seems easier to manage pH and/or ppm. I think I will do it one more run my way and see if the results indicate to be working like I think they are.

How about runoff? Do you measure any of that? And if so why?

Good looking out!

ive never checked runoff and i use the reagent drops to check ph prior to feeding.

i try to avoid too much runoff b/c i dont want my RH to increase but ill try to get ~15% run off during a 2 wk flush. as long as i dont have too many flushing at the same time i let the run off evaporate but if i have over 3 ill suck it up and throw it outside.

Sounds like you got it down to simple. As do I. Right now I am doing everything from 1 res. Even feeding seedlings and clones with it. I want to see if it will truly cover the entire spectrum of the grow.

I just started using maxi throughout.. just maxi in veg and it honestly couldnt be any easier. Plants look great as well. Find the bigger plants in veg just require more strength. No def so far.. no added cal mag... lovin it for ease
