HH Spray 2.0 + LED Tubes + BrandX Seeds

I am already using LED for flowering (I have a thread here in the LED section), just curious if you prefer these "LED tubes" or the globe type for veg.

Seems you like the tubes for veg, I will try them out. How many 18 watt strips do you think I would need to cover 2x3?

I measure everything in PAR, not concerned about the wattage; just mentioned my current power usage as a metric.

Here is the space I am talking about:

If the plants in your 'tent' cover 3-4ft across, then tubes will do a better job of even coverage.

Many higher wattage globes (like the Crees, Philips, Feit...) have engines arranged so that light is strongest around the middle, meaning you would need to have them parallel, instead of facing down

Cree now makes a spot light which aims diodes down. It is larger diameter (broader coverage), but is ~$6 more

Do an on-line search for captainmorgan flowering with cree bulbs

You bet.

I forgot to mention, you can buy ~3ft @ 4 A19 vanity fixture at Lowes/HD for < $20. That plus 4 Cree spots should easily handle your veg area

Today's pics are for snap shot purposes, as well as update.

Not that I am overly concerned that pH swings from ~ 5.5 - 6.0 in 24 hours, but have not experienced such swings prior to incorporating the magnets round the 1/2" feeder tubing

So, I decided to test 'repel' v 'attract'. LED tent now in repel, HOT5 now in repel

HOT5

Melanie's primary leafs bigger than my hand with fingers spread
Sophia's primary leafs are slightly smaller. She is loving the added lumens

Update

I decided to remove the HH Rings from both rezes in an effort to determine why pH raises over night.

LED Tent

I placed the large WH plant inside a 4 liter AP, no added rocks, just so I could keep the HH Ring stable and therefore properly water the plant. This issue will be resolved next grow

I removed the HH Ring that was watering the 2 males (well hopefully males) replaced it with a shut off valve + two fittings + 2 sort 1/2" tubing. There should be adequate water to soak their entire root systems

There are so many variables/permutations to ordering the panels, compounded by China going on a 7 day holiday starting tomorrow, so no panels will be ordered until they get back. This is a bummer, as the led tent can use > 50 more watts

Having trouble loading new pics. Stay tuned

Still unclear whether magnets in repel v attract do anything different, or that eliminating the HH Ring from the LED rez helped with pH, but plants are all doing quite well- best in my experience. some of that is due to having both lights and watering systems much better dialed in.

I will have to keep a closer watch on nute consumption, which has gone way up, and we know what that means

I use a Sentinel digital timer in my HOT5 tent.

At night I reset it to only feed every 3 hours 27 minutes. I reset back to 27 minutes each morning.

This morning I forgot. I went to check on plants some 3 hours later to find the plant at the end of the feed line was somewhat wilted. The other 2 were mostly unaffected.

I decided to increase the time between feedings from 27 minutes to 54 minutes. Curious to see whether this makes plants hungrier, and therefor provide a bigger growth spurt, which has been steady @ ~ 2" per 24 hours

Nice to have you following along!

Both are very similar, but the HOT5s are taller. Much of that due to >3xs the amount of lumens

Certainly says a lot for LEDs, no?

The gorgeous full of secondary branching G13 on the left in my HOT5 tent has nanners. FUCK!

I'm hoping the other G13, that I have been stressing like crazy in my LED tent to force it to be a male is a female, so at least I can get seeds for future grows

Quick update- no pics

LED tent has been ~ 85*s: HOT5 83*. I finally opened one flap on the opposite side of the fan on the LED tent. Temps quickly dropped to 81*s

I just did a complete rez change in the HOT5 tent. Will do the LED tent soon

Been a little tardy with the pics

Part of the reason (apart from Sophia turning out to be the bushiest male I've ever grown) is no evidence of females, but no evidence of males either, which is a good sign since females usually take longer to show. And maybe, just maybe the G13 in the led tent is female, in spite of my efforts to stress it when I thought for sure Sophia was female. Sort of like Michelle Obama :fire:

Both rezes have been cleaned and fresh nutes added.

Lights have been ~ 14 hours for ~ 10 days, so time to drop to 13 hours

HOT5 pics are of what I hope are 2 females. Melanie (on the left) is ~ 29" tall

Still unclear about sex of G13 in led tent, or the biggest WHx in HOT5 tent. They are both ~ 30"

Last night I cut hours back to 13 in expectation of pushing sex

Finally the high humidity has left. Even though my plants are indoors it seems to have had a significant impact on rez pH

pH is now quite stable

Still chompin on the bit to know how many girls
