I use pure RO with H&G and it kills it. Heres what you do
When you transplant your cuts into coco the first week of feeding I add calimagic at 4 ml per gallon (roughly .4 EC) then add in your H&G base at roughly 5 ml each A & B ( roughly .6 EC)
Total EC 1000 - 1100
This will supply the plant and the coco with all the cal-mag they need.
After that first week ditch the calmag
Use roughly a 1/4 tsp of epsom salt per gallon then add your H&G at 5 ml each A & B (roughly 1000-1100 EC)
This will get you growing in coco. You dont need anything else to get a killer crop. Slowly bump up your base nutes as the plants need it and you will kill it

Hope this helps

u would think these big companies would make nutes for coco without need for additional calmag

Most nutes are designed with a starting ppm of 50-150 of water. Almost no way around adding something unless you use salts and tweaked your own formula. 6/9 with epsom works great with ro.

This is pure regurgitation, but I have been informed by other members here (Snow_Crash, I think) that CaliMagic should not be used as a Ca/Mg source in coco, because the Ca is derived from Calcium Carbonate - which will build up in your Coco.

So use a different product for Ca/Mg in coco!

I continued reading your post and see you also recommend adding Epsom Salts with every watering. I don't think this is a very good idea, personally. I ran into troubles myself when going that route (adding Epsom to every batch).

The H&G Cocos A+B BASE product is all I use - and I see perfect lush green growth now, with no purpling on the plant's stalk or petioles at all.

The real key is to keeping your coco at the correct moisture content/level.

When coco dries out, the pH will swing which can cause lockouts and (in my experience) tends to lead to what looks like a Mg deficiency.

Nope. Never do anything every watering. I add epsoms or a calcium or floralicious whatever. Maybe twice a week on plants that eat 1-2 times a day. H & g will grow nice lush plants but it will not compete with 6/9 in bloom unless you use additives/boosters.

the formulation is actually the same its just the way they classify certain nutes in europe vs usa.. it has to do with the %'s i cant remember exactly which ones...

I've used 6/9 very successfully but I'm going back to canna now for a bit to see if i prefer it.

Tip: with 6/9, this is just a 2:3 ratio so it doesn't matter what quantity of water you are fertigating just keep that ratio. I tried converting the US gallons to litres and then figuring out how many ML per L it is.. Just keep the ratio at 2:3 and its fine... I always go for around 1-1.2 EC with RO, no higher or I get issues.

You should be very happy with your 0ec water!!

With coco dont treat it like soil, check ou the coco forum and see Hundred Gram Oz's post on how to water coco, he recommends multiple feeds a day and he's getting up to 9oz from 6L pots!!

Well my plants dont lye & I aint no rookie
Grow after grow after grow I have healthy shit, and all I do is add a little epsom with my H&G aquaflakes in coco every watering and bam top quality with high yields.
To each there own
Personally I think H&G cocos is junk,, maybe you werent adding correct amounts of epsom then

Heres some plants that were only getting H&G aqua and epsom every watering
Dont look bad to me

Heres a couple finished H&G aqua, epsom, bud xl and top shooter

It works great for me,,, see what you been missin
