Flora Nova Problems?

Hey,

The past couple months I have been using Flora Nova for my mother plants. They are Ak-47 from serious seeds. I have been experiencing what I believe to be a phosphorous deficiency. Symptoms are darkness in the middle of the leaves eventually leading to the death of those leaves. I have tried less/more/flushing(which has worked)/ and so on and so forth. Has anyone experienced similar problems. If so could you recommend a more suitable nutrient or remedy?

I also have started some juvenile white widow X og kush. They are on the same feeding schedule and amount with the flora nova and are doing absolutely wonderful.

P.S. All the plants were started in formula 707 soil. And have now been transplanted into happy frog. :tiphat:

Thanks for the help

buy some cheap fertilizer and see if it helps once you switch to it. dyna grow/bloom comes to mind...

also flora nova needs a lot of shakin.

They make nutrients specifically designed for mother plants. Its made by hydrodynamics International the makers of Ionic. They call it "Mother Plant" and it is a 2 part nutrient. Used it for years and it is the best on the market IMO.

Thanks for the help guys. Have any of you had similar problems with flora nova?

Mg75- Ya I know you really gotta shake the shit out of that stuff ;)

TheBioMaster- That sounds promising I will definitely check it out

I doubt FN is the problem.

When you flush the plants you should collect and test the first quart of runoff, it will tell you all you need to know.

As long as your flushing the soil regularly you shouldn't have a problem, floranova is known to be a bit salty.

I know several people (they make 1000's of cuttings per week) who use Nova/Seaweed for mother plants with no issues as you describe. Main thing is to shake it really good if not return it to the shop for another bottle. Don't let them tell you they can't exchange it as they can and will get credit from their supplier for it unless you return a 80% empty bottle and expect a new one.

Another food to try is CNS 17. I know one baby maker that uses it and works really good also.

also flora nova needs a lot of shakin.[/QUOTE]

premixing by adding the flora nova (after shaking vigorously) to a quart or two of water then mixing well to dissolve the solids to get a good mix before adding it to your res or watering barrel gives the best results

PS flora nova grow/bloom are top quality one part ferts IMHO

yes they are very powerful and work with almost any growing method/medium.
they just stain and messy. wear gloves and make sure the cap is on tight before shaking. i had an accident...

Tried measuring your run-off ?
Haven't mentioned what size containers your in either ?

Largest mother room i know is 60kw @ Oaksterdam Skunkworks , they do minimum 7gals in coco and Sensi A&B nutes @ 700ppms ...pretty much flawless mothers run after run.

Mom's with Floranova should be kept low ppms too....then beef up right b4 cutting taking .

i use flora nova with coco all day. Its eazy peazy! 1/2 tsp for younglings, 1 tsp the rest of the time.. bullet proof!

There shouldn't be any problems with the Nutes right away, unless they are old (there is quite some organic stuff in there, I suppose), I would think of a lockout caused by other problems, e.g. overwatering, pH or the like.

Alright thanks for the help. I guess my next step will be measuring my run off. I mix it in a 5 gallon bucket with a wooden spoon but I suppose that shaking it before and after it's added to the water will now be how I do things. O and they are in 2 gallon buckets.

The advice is much appreciated
Thanks

If you didn't shake it before you added it to the water thats whats causing your problems. I know someone who was doing something similar, not shaking it before and he had a whole whack of problems. Once he went to shaking before mixing they eventually recovered.
