First up is some shire, picture sucks but trust me this is the nicest flower I ever grew. I saved this is and two other colas intact so that when this harvest is long gone, I can pull em out for special occasions.

I've always used vital earth castings, not talked to many who use them I assume is from the cost. I noticed recently that there is sort of a pinhole puncture running up the sides of each bag and I dont remember that before. But occasionally Id open a bag and it would be a bit drier than i was expecting. Im worried about contamination at the farm store as ive recently dealt with root aphids. I wonder if they are doing this so the castings can have access to atmospheric gases. Do you remember if they have always been punctured?

I tried 2 bags of amazon bloom on a light this run mixed in about 20% my normal mix, thats what the big smart pots with the shire and ECSD plants are in. I also topdressed those plants about 2 weeks ago with ewc, high p guano, and high n guano.

Thanks! Ive had a bit of that before with ammended soils and I think it has to do with actually more of a lack of biological activity than too much amends. This is actually the most amount of ammends ive used in two years (which turns out to be full amount recommended to me). Also using catalyst, and ppd in higher amounts than before. I'm also using EJ in tiny amounts sometimes always maintaining the proper ratios of bloom to grow. My theory is that small amounts of EJ really are helping to chelate the ammends in the soil.
