Ok, ive come up with a couple different plans of action. Im gonna try and use my room switch to my advantage. But i already put the veg plants in the new room. So, my options are: trying to kill the aphids; OR cloning all the veg plants, and tossing all the soil/pots/roots. I figure if i get rid of the roots, i get rid of the root aphids. So then id just have cuts in the ez cloner. I could then thoroughly clean/bomb the new room, and only use new seeds and these de-rooted/de-bugged clones. So anyways, i was gonna ask a question similar to dans:

... but i have a question first . i want to totally clean everything in the attic before hand & i want to bug bomb at least once , maybe twice .... but i've never used a bug bomb . can I leave the little girls in there or should i move them into another room when doing it ??? probably a stupid question , but can't hurt to ask :)

... and yes move the babys out of the room before you nuke it.

But if there is eggs on the cuts, wont he just bring them right back into the freshly cleaned room? I know its highly highly unlikely there is anything left on dans plants, but i still wanna know. And I realize my situation is a little different.

They all look ok to use, except i dont know if the "Crawling Insect Killer with D.E." stuff, is the wrong kind to use on plants. Its "Garden Safe" brand, but it doesnt really say anything about using in a garden. I got it cause i wanted to get DE, but this has a lot of other stuff in it too. It says sprinkle it on the floor, and bugs die within 24 hours after ingesting it. I thought DE just cut them up or something? So is this the wrong stuff?

Anyone know anything about this stuff?

And i also have been looking through this catalog. The owner of the grow shop gave it to me a couple months ago and told me i can get anything in it. He'd just have to order it. There is shit for grow tents though.

And i see a lot of you guys use this stuff. What does it al kill besides catapillers?

a fresh cutting can be sterilized with a mild bleach solution or something like hydrogen peroxide i would imagine...i seem to recall an ed rosenthal or kyle kushman video on you tube about that..
dont forget about good old lysol when you go to clean rooms and equipment, dont spray it near any plants but it will kill the shit outta just about anything or just melt it into bio goo...

Pappy you got to get some met 52 for those root aphids, it works. only thing I found that will get rid of them, you have to mix it in your soil so use your stuff for now and when you repot or transplant mix the met 52 into it.

I was lookin at that stuff. Not sure why they feel the need to charge so much. Its just bacteria right? I did hear its the best though. I prolly would invest the $600 or whatever it costs, but im thinking I'm not gonna fight them. Ive heard too many people saying they wish they wouldn't have tried to fight them. just started over. And because im switchin rooms right now anyways, im in a unique postion to pretty easily get rid of them. without having to fight them. Im just gonna finish out my current flowering run, thats in my old room. And take clones from my veg plants, and start new in the new room. It shouldn't be too much of a set back. It does kinda suck, the new moms were shaping up nicely. (beside the ugly mag def lookin leaves)

here they were 3.5 weeks ago. Judging from the comparison, they look to have grown pretty vigorously despite the RA's. Although the real damage doesnt seem to happen until flowering.
picture.php

and ill even have to clone my seedlings.

picture.php

and ill have to dump all my dirt. probably 150-200 gallons of expensive ass soil. but thats the least awful part.

And another reason i dont wanna mess around fighting these aphids, i wanna run the Gorilla Glue soon. and i wanna have ABSOLUTELY perfect conditions for her.

Pappy, Merit 75 is the active ingredient in the Bayer tree & shrub ....i've read its just as potent a bug killer as the Met 52 . no need to buy the expensive stuff . & yes That brand DE ... well both brands you bought are good for putting in your soils . DE works both ways on bugs .... it will dehydrate them as they cut them to shards as they crawl through your soils .... so your good with both brands .

yeah bro , i doubt theres any thing living on my plants right now , but i'm still doing a preventive spraying once a week with different organic products , plus I bought a bottle of 1.5 avid in case they ever get outa control . the only other thing i plan on buying is the spinosad . i'm going to have an arsenal of shit here to kill these fukers if they decide to try & show up again !!! :shooty:

Yeah It sux having to basicly start over , but the alternative is fighting a losing battle against some stubborn ass bugs !!! Good luck brutha !!!

mornin gluetards :tiphat:

Pappy , take one of those bags Of DE , put all your old soil into a kiddie pool , dump the DE in there mix it up real good & set the pool where it will freeze over the winter & by spring you should be able to reuse all that . its up to you ..... if you want to try & save it .

or....grab a big ass smart pot and use it for a veggie garden next year...

nice little errand ride, the weather is just perfect for riding aside from it being a bit windy, but i will take 70's and windy over 104 and calm anyday....
turns out walmart has fuel canisters that should work with my stove, thats good to know since theres a walmart nearly everywhere these days and they allow you to camp in their parking lots provided you shop there...i imagine sooner or later im going to have to bail to a walmart parking lot to camp during some trip or another...

Thats a really good idea dan. Theres no way they could survive the winter alone. Ill throw in the DE for good measure though. And i heard this is going to be the worst winter on record, according to the farmers almanac. Great, huh?

and i tried to grow veggiies this year. everything got eatten besides my hottest peppers. Deer are insane around here. You literally cant grow anything outside with a enclosed set up. I have a family of deer that live behind a giant blackberry bush in my backyard too. I dont stand a chance. Im thinkin maybe a little greenhouse in the future though. If i dont sell the house and head west that is.

its all fun and games, camping in a walmart parking lot... until your tent gets run over by a drunk driver in the middle of the night.

or you get your face eaten off by a bath salt crazed zombie, lookin to score some sudafed late night

naw,you just find the friendly older rv'ers and set up near them...plus,i dont know where you live but that sort of stuff is really rare around here...not the drunk drivers, but the really crazy stuff, not so much....i think this state is like no 47 on the population list, not sure about that but theres only like a million people in the entire state and like half or more live in one city so the rest of the huge area is mainly small towns...this place is just too boring or sedate or too damn hot for all that coastal craziness to go on...we have out own extra spicy craziness in the desert...
