2nd time in a week i stayed up all night reading about these damn root aphids. To say im losing sleep over it would be an understatement. and the more i read, the more hopeless i feel. All these other guys, have these massive arsenals of super expensive stuff to kill the RA's. If i could, i would just finish this run, take clones, toss everything, and start over. But i cant afford to take the loss of a cycle. I need the medicine, and i cant exactly go to a dispensary. And the stuff i can get is way overpriced, and not close to what i produce. (not cause im a great grower, just because the buyers market just sucks here). So i guess the fight is on. Hopefully, i dont have them bad. I checked my sticky traps thouroghly, and all i see is fungus gnats, not one aphid. Sneaky bastards. Im glad that i at least caught them early. If it wasnt for this forum, id prolly have been screwed for the next couple years. Anyways, wish me luck fellas! im goin in.
Good luck Pappy .... i have a feeling your gonna need it . this has been a tuff fall for critters !!! & not just for us ..... everybody is having a tuff time !!!
I know the feeling when you say you'd be screwed if you have to shut down !!! I am screwed !!! i don't need it for meds like you ,but other than my measly SSI check, it is my only source of income right now & i'm fuked for october & november !!! oh well ..... life is a big bitch sometimes !!!
The Bayer Tree & shrub worked for me when i got them a couple years ago & you can get it just about anywhere .... just a thought if ya haven't tried it .

morning gang :coffee:

3rd .... like Unc said ..... amber is only a sign that they are overdone & degrading . you can tell when a plant is done & ready to harvest ..... the amber thing is more for people like Hammer that need the amber glands for pain relief & sleep . most stoners don't even know about cloudy to amber trichs . had one guy even ask me what thrichs were lol

well ..... i got a ton of clones from the cloners transplanted over the last 2 nights . took the 600 watter out of the 4 x 4 & put in the T5 rack to light up the babies ..... thought the 600 or even dimmed to 400 would be a little to much for them till they get established & growing . they've been through ALOT lately & don't want to chance killing them now .

i've got in 5" pots ...
9 GG
4 headband
4WSD
4KQR
3 SD
3 SFV OG
4 wcd x sb
plus theres still about 15 cuts in the cloner that should pop roots any second if they're going to at all .

heck, just the glue alone would get most people back on track...plus i think you will find the attic isnt so bad when its not crammed full of plants,i bet you just didnt have enough fresh air coming into the rooms to keep everything happy.in a good number of the actual grow rooms i have been in 90% i thought suffered from some form of ventilation trouble and that was the limiting factor in those particular set ups...theres always a weak link thats holding most systems back from performing at their best and once you can identify that factor in your own system i think you will find the mechanics of growing get much simpler again...

Your probably right about both too many plants & not enough air circulation .... but the extreme temps are the biggest factor up here . i just last night was telling the wife that now that i took the AC out ..... it was 63 degrees out side but it was 82.7 up in my attic !!! thats a 20 degree difference with the window wide open !!!! i need a room with the temps a little more stable . even a bedroom would be 100% better than this fukin attic !!!

Like right now ... perfect example .... its 61 degrees outside a strong 30mph wind , window wide open & its

thought i'd grab a couple pics of the girls too .

Do u get that crazy icecicle build up around your vents on the outside. It prolly dont matter to u. but it can be a dead give away in the wrong place. Unc prolly hates dealin with it too;)

Well this barn has only been in use since April of this year. I also will have no vents going in the winter, I turned off my 20" vent fan a few weeks back.

Morning whippersnappers!

Yeah, kinda scary heading into winter, the big unknown. Will it be warm enough? Who knows? Just a little stress for me to deal with. I know insulating the 2nd half of the barn will go a long way towards keeping it warm.

at least this will be the last time i need to do this, really working the two prong hoe hard today! anyway,it will be nice to be able to ride right up to the shop door, pretty soon the living room of the house will be full of plants and i may have to use the master bedroom for more of them since its the only other south facing window,i can just move all the living room stuff out to the man cave...

lol,i feel yah,so many unknowns...like will i actually have to turn the heat on at all this winter?:tumbleweed: this year im turning it on,there were about 7-10 days when i wished i had it on,but turning the heater on during a cold day is a good way to get carbon monoxide poisoning from not having checked everything out...

for sure when i put the walls up in the shop i will insulate the interior walls as well if for no other reason than to damp the sound down...

Evening gang :smoke out:

Hey brutha smoooth !!! Damn that greenhouse looks like Heaven !!! :tiphat:

Looks like i'll be staying here for at least the winter months . just got my buddy from fla . set up in his own place today , so that puts a crinkle in the spending department for awhile . but at least He's happy to have his own place & Its just me the ol'lady & the dog here again :whee:
no more kids around ... no more friends sleepin on the couch !!!! piece & quiet !!!!!

so it looks like i'll be restarting here .... oh well .... i can deal with it another winter . gonna change things up a bit too now that the big room is wide open again . i'll get more into detail as i set it up . but i have a question first . i want to totally clean everything in the attic before hand & i want to bug bomb at least once , maybe twice .... but i've never used a bug bomb . can I leave the little girls in there or should i move them into another room when doing it ??? probably a stupid question , but can't hurt to ask :)

dan I feel a major insulation job is in order for your attic, and yes move the babys out of the room before you nuke it.

Its already insulated & rocked .... its just old & leaky & not my house to fix up :)
i think it'll be ok as long as i bomb & sterilize the place . i'm not building a 4 x 8 room this time , i'm just gonna use the first 2/3's of the attic (where the window is ) as the flower room . it'll give me 12 x 8 to work in .... i'll loose a little watts per square foot , but i might be able to put up a panda curtian . depends on how much room i'll have left to walk in :)

this set up will not work in the summer . so i'll HAVE to find a place by then . this will just give me more time . WTF am i wasting the best time of the year to grow for ??? cuz i hate my space ... or a few bugs ? :dunno:

You think i could do a 12 x 8 with a 100 foot roll of reflektix ???
