Hello everyone, and welcome to my newest grow. :blowbubbles:

Silver LA, by Reserva Privada. Here is the strain information from the breeder:

Sex: Feminized

Type: 60% Indica : 40% Sativa

Genetics: LA Confidential x Silver Bubble

Flowering time: 9 weeks

Yield: 400-500 g/m2

Plant Height: Medium

Detailed Description:

Silver LA is a big yielding, fast flowering, mostly sativa strain that produces super sticky flowers that have the LA scent with spicy hazy undertones of Silver Bubble. Growing Silver LA is great due to its fast veg time, mould resistance, and great yields. IF YOU’RE INTO CONCENTRATES this is a great plant to use. Terpenes really come through in concentrates, but more than the flavor, the Silver LA will knock you down with its strength. The Silver LA will soon be a favorite in your garden and being a 9 week flowering strain also makes the Silver LA commercially viable.

This is a clone of a plant that originally started off as a freebie seed. I just planted her up last night. This is a hempy bucket, 75/25 perlite/vermiculite. Plan is to do a bunch of LST and veg for 3 or 4 weeks.

We have a little growth:

(Oooh, I need to pluck those lower leaves! They are a little frazzled from the transplant.)

Thanks guys. Yes, mike, the last round was a dud. But now I know, and will no longer be growing any feminized Mandala offerings. Ever again. This one won't disappoint, I promise. I am rather looking forward to this grow, anyway, since the first time around when I grew this cut out, I was very impressed, but I didn't really get to let this plant shine. Now that she will be all by herself, I will pamper her and give her what she wants. This round will determine whether she stays in my stable as a mother plant or not.

Haven't updated in a while, due to the 1000w harvest, but now that that's all curing, I can tend to my other gardens again. I just did LST'd this one tonight. It also seems a bit droopy and I need to keep my eye on it, but otherwise looks healthy. I think it might be too warm in there, since I bumped the wattage up to 400 the other day, and I forgot to adjust the ambient room temperature. That has been corrected, and I expect the plant to perk up in a day or two.

It's been a minute since my last update, but the plant looks much better now, and I pinned down several of her branches tonight:

Hey hush good luck with this grow! You got a fine strain there.
Just one thing, Is this sativa or Indica dominant? In the first post it says 60% Indica but also that its "mostly sativa"?

The difference between post #7 and #8 is huge, i was a bit worried at first :)

Looking forward to seeing this plant flower!

Well, all 6 seeds of the only feminized strain I've grown of theirs (Far Out) were hermies. So, I decided not to ever try any of those again. Their regulars are great, so I'm a huge fan, but not the feminized ones.

I watching hush, I'm also doing a freebie silver la at the moment... She is at about 5weaks flower now and is lookn really nice... The leaves have a purple tint to them and the buds I think actually are getting a silver look to them... How long does yours go for?...

Nice grow!
Wow! How do you pull off a 400w HPS in a 2x2 without heat issues?
The reason I ask is because I have experience from a 2x2 tent with a 250w CFL as the only light source, and it gets kinda hot.
Would love to be able to throw a 400w HPS in there, would probably do miracles to my yields.

I took it down last time at 56 days because I was going on vacation and they had to come down... But I think they could go 9 weeks maybe. It was still good, but I haven't grown her to her full potential yet.

Nice grow!

Honestly, as long as you aircool the light, and have a good fan, it just works. I admit it gets up to 80+ degrees sometimes when the ambient temp goes above 75, but as long as I keep the house cool it works out. I keep the side flaps on the tent open though. I think that helps a lot, instead of relying on using duct for the stealth approach.

I admit it pushes things, and really a 400 would be better suited for a 3x3 tent.

What is a good fan in this case? I have THIS one. It would not really cut it with a 400w HPS in a cooltube, right?
I also have a fan blowing up at the vertical CFL.. still get like 77F in there. Ambient temp around tent are like 72F.

Enough about me! How's your grow doing?

That fan is a little on the slow side of things, even though it's probably a good fan. It might be worth giving it a shot, but I really think that to make it work you would want to use a second fan for a closed-loop cool tube. You could probably even use a duct booster fan for that. Then your tt fan could do less duty.

My grow has some big changes afoot. I don't have time to talk about them at the moment, but I will, soon. Long story short, my 2x2 tent will soon get repurposed as a veg/mom tent, and when that happens I will put the silver LA in the big tent, under the 1000w, which is currently empty and going to waste anyway.

I'm revamping things to cut down on the number of gardens I have. I won't be scattering grows around my house like peanut shells anymore, lol. I gotta clean things up and make my wife happy. I also need to consolidate things into one locked space, because we are going to start a family soon. Don't need any stress headaches from paranoia with all that.

So stay tuned and this plant will be put under the 1000 soon...

I went ahead and moved the Silver LA into the 4x4 tent this morning. She will begin flowering tonight. This will be a single plant grow, which ought to be interesting, since I just harvested over a pound from 5 plants in the same space. I certainly don't expect that much from one plant, but it sure would be nice if I could get more than 1/5th of that. I will have to get more creative with training I guess. But this is the result of having lost all my Lemon Skunk clones which were intended to come in here next. After thinking things through, it seemed the best thing to do, in order to keep the 1000w garden going, was to move the most mature plant I had in here, which is the Silver LA.

As you can see I've been LST'ing the crap out of her, and she looks very healthy and ready to go. This ought to be good! So goodbye  to the 2x2 tent, which will only be for vegetative purposes from now on, until further notice.

I'm still getting things in order, after starting the tent back up again. Been trying to clean things up, and make a few necessary changes here and there. Also, I went out and bought a 4x4 flood table to use as a drain tray. Those kitty litter pans were a pain in the ass. The flood table looks much nicer too.

I also picked up a bag of Maxibloom when I was in the grow shop. I thought I'd go ahead and give that a try instead of using the 2 part Lucas formula. I like the idea of weighing dry nutes instead of measuring liquids... It's just easier and requires less things. I put my kitchen scale in the grow room and it's right there next to the water source and the bag of nutrient. Easy is what I need right now.

I definitely need to start mixing it in hot water though, before adding it to the res. Just dumping it in there required a good half hour before it dissolved properly, and that's with a powerhead in there mixing it up the whole time. During that time, the pH was ridiculous...climbing upward to 10.0 then jumping around a bit from the low 5's to the upper 8's. Never seen anything like that before, using the same water source I always use, so I'm assuming that had to do with the different rates the various compounds were slowly dissolving into the water. So I'll try dissolving in hot water first next time.

I still need to go fill up the co2 tank, and setup the automatic watering, but other than that the garden is back in action! I'm hoping to pull possibly 6 to 8 ounces off this one plant, and I'm not sure how to pull that off, so wish me luck! :D
