Hello Mr. Dedicated Grower!

How nice that you grow not only cannabis!
If we grew only pot, we would have nothing to eat ! ! !

Personally, I also grow green beans ;)

I wish you good luck and thanks a lot for the really good vibes you're sharing with us!

Cheers!

True, it just seems natural that most people that like to grow cannabis are gonna eventually lead to an appreciation to grow other stuff too, eventually things u can consume like food!

The last few years I've became more interested with not only growing the herb but just the bigger picture, plants/vegetables/soil/compost all that stuff. Looking back to when I was a kid I realize I did enjoy growing flowers and doing gardens, so it seems natural that now that it has become one of my most enjoyable pastimes!

With a desire to also try to live a healthier lifestyle there's just something about eating what your grow, or other fresh/local stuff. So right on man I'm there with you! I do a veggie garden at a family member's place with more space and we have a whole grip of green beans just about rdy to start picking, love'em :) Thx for the kind words

What are you growing outside? Is it in one of the grows in your sig? I'll have to check it out!
No I'm not doing a grow thread on it. I had two autoflower freebies, the first died, I planted the second, and it's doing well! (About 2 1/2 weeks above ground). It's an Auto-Diesel x Auto-Blueberry, I'm pretty sure.

I enjoy growing all kinds of stuff besides weed too. Got some corn goin', Three Sisters method, first time we're trying that.

Nice man yah it does look pretty happy, I hope she comes through for you! Is it feminized seed or standard auto? sounds tasty. I like that method for your veggies, I would like to try that sometime.

I got my jedi lady trimmed up lean and mean :) Just went through and cleaned up the bottom and from the inside out to focus that growth on the branches that are gonna matter the most. I like the cleaner look and if i have the time hope to go through and clean her up a bit every couple weeks...

She's looking pretty, all the new growth is looking very nice and I like the growth structure. I did top her after I first put her out, I don't think it hurt. My little c99 cuts are adjusting nicely outside, I've had screen over them to shade them a bit so they haven't been burnt at all really! I'm gonna let them fill up those little starter pots with roots a bit then put them in some 7g pots.

veggies are doin pretty good we pulled our first corn and green beans, finally getting a few tomatos. here's a couple this is from the garden i do at some family's house...

I gave them a kelp foliar a couple days ago and they have responded nicely. Within a couple hours leaves just perked up and happy, taco shell and reaching up, and over the last couple days a nice darker green color and shine in the leaves.

Oh and I put up a little shade cover for them. We're gonna have a 5-10 day stretch of 100-112, so this should be really nice. I haven't grown the jedi before so I'm not sure but it looks like maybe it is starting to transition a bit.

Got my little c99's into 7g smarties, I hope they keep vegging for a bit longer be4 starting to flower, wouldn't mind them a bit bigger. Jedi is chugging along, gave them a nice foliar and soil drench ACT a few days ago.

Took a little hop over to Trinity County for a weekend camp trip, love it over there. Nothing like just hanging out, smoking some bud in the ET and swimming in the river. Just beautiful...

The Jedi kush is in early flowering, I guess you could say probably stretching but it really didn't stretch too much, just getting stocky throwing hairs and leafing out. Next couple weeks I'm sure there will be some bud sites popping.

C99's are doing very well and growing alot, they are probably about 2 ft tall now. The difference between the two phenos is showing a bit, the one on the left is less branchy and more focused on the main stem, while the other is more branchy and kinda more sativa looking.

So the Jedi is starting to show a bit of yellowing on the larger fan leaves, top and bottom kinda uniformily. Just started noticing it over the past week.. So I added (to all the plants) a few cups of compost/EWC to top dress and good thorough rinsing followed by a light kelp foliar. They seemed to like that a bit better than the neptunes harvest I did last time... which may be related to the yellowing of the leaves? hmm there are a few other things it might be tho as well.. c99s were fine with the neptunes foliar and its worked fine for me before..

picture.php

Hah I saw something new to me... those harmless 'ol roly polies and a lot of little young ones were chewing the stem on the jedi also like a week ago.. They actually did a little damage, but i think it was just into the top thin layer of the stem and about the size of a penny. I've been working on those and haven't seen any more damage lately.

picture.php

C99's are doing well. This is also going to be interesting side by side of a couple of plants with more vigour vs the jedi which had a bit rougher start. Inside starting about mid january if I remember correct? It sat in a 1g inside under flourescents for a few months.. From the dispensary, seemed in pretty good shape when I got it tho.

C99's were pretty fresh cuts, brought outside and given the chance to go for it and they show it with quite a bit of vigour currently. I just hope they have enough room in their pots, I think they'll do ok as long as I do ok with the watering... We'll see, they are in 7g vs 10g for the jedi. I'll just sit back and enjoy the show :)

picture.php

Oh yah, see this is why being stoned is good... you come up with all these interesting ideas which all seem so good.. so I was gonna try to occasionally put links to threads or maybe even specific posts that I really like or want to like "bookmark?" So I don't forget about them and have a nice little record of them? Yah I think that might work.. but i don't have any right THIS instant.. and thats because last time I thought about doing this, of course I didn't write it down :) happy/healthy growing to everyone

Got some time to dig back through the Jedi and clean up some of the small stuff.. I pretty much cut back some of the smaller lower shoots coming off the main branches. Most of that stuff wasn't getting direct sun, should help focus the buds now. Still some yellowing on some of the bigger, older fans but I don't think its gotten any worse. In fact the new growth and along the future colas looks pretty perky and nice and green. I added some fresh compost/EWC and I think thats helping.

Definitely in transition but not full on budding yet. Alot of new growth and small branches and leaves filling in along the future colas, hairs but not noticeable buds yet. They're coming tho :) Like I said I haven't grown this before but it definitely looks like its gonna be a bit more leafy than the more sativa leaning plants I usually grow.

picture.php

Like... the C99's. They're doing great and transitioning, I can see the beginning of bud sites on the plant on the left, plant on the right just a little behind. 3 ft tall now, you can see the diff between them in their structure a bit with the left less branchy but long and upright. More bushy to the right.

Oh yah, and interesting discussion about ERGS in the large plants thread starts with this one
Ok I admit I am not familiar with that term right off hand but when I get time I'm gonna go and check out the info in some of the links that were provided

Not a whole lot new just added some more supporting to the c99s, did a spinosad spray, watered in some molasses. Not alot of smell on any of the plants yet, but I know its gonna be coming soon! They seem to be pretty happy, should really start kicking into gear in about a week..

From reading some posts in the lg plants thread I decided I would water a little more than I have been and I think they have liked it. Just watering twice a day and making sure I give a nice even soak in the morning. Its been hot tho, like 95-100.. I let them go about a day and a half without water and they definitely wanted a bit so the smart pots don't stay wet for too long, especially when its hot.

The c99's are kind of stealing the show for me so far, I just love the vigour in them and that they've gone from about 10 inches to 3+ feet in a month.

The Jedi doesn't look to shabby either. I really thought supposedly being more indica in her she would be further along by now, but its ok I'm patient :) I think she has for sure liked staying more moist with the afternoon watering, yellowing not really any worse, nice growth and just now starting to see some more of those early buds staging..

Late August and buds are starting to slowly take shape, C99's are 4 ft+ now and the Jedi is not getting any taller but is starting to set buds. My other half was concerned about the impending smell so I've been throwing up a makeshift greenhouse with a small carbon scrubber.

Continuing the regimen of some top dressing compost/EWC and using the neptunes fish/seaweed about once a week. I did spray neem possibly for the last time this AM, if I need to spray anymore in the next couple weeks i'll use spinosad to protect from cats/thrips and then probably just water sprays the rest of the way out.

Thanks hippy...

Greenhouse is working out good so far.. C99s continue to thrive and the jedi kush is coming along, not pristine, but I haven't given up on her. The jedi is yellowing up some and just not looking as robust as the c99s. There are a number of things it could be but I just don't know if theres much I can do to improve things. I think alot of it is the fact that it was an older clone to begin with... just didn't have the vigour when put out to sustain 100% through the season. I'll just try to keep the soil biology alive, compost and light feedings through to the finish and I'm sure it will come in alright..

These mosca c99 bx1 ladies are keeping me impressed so far. I didn't expect them to get as big as they have, I had to tie over the top on the one on the right as it had just started touching the top. I sat their smart pots on about a 10-12 inch flat mound of leftover bulk nursury mix soil that I had filled some raised beds with. I water it too when i water the plants and sure enough they've put some substantial roots down through the smart pots into the dirt below. So that would help explain why they are doing so well.

Really nice work

Thanks, you too! The herb is an amazing plant, so glad I'm able to grow a bit.. Things are continuing along, buds are taking shape and stacking/frosting up.

Found a little wilted bottom bud on a c99 yesterday and picked it off and there was a little cat munching away inside the bud... Didn't notice any others on any plants but I went ahead and sprayed spinosad this am. I've killed probably 6-10 moths/butterflies flying around in there over the past couple weeks so I figured I better get ahead of it!

Otherwise, c99s are doing great and they just seem to me like they are going to come in even better than the indoor run I did with them. Gonna have some beautiful buds for sure... Jedi buds look pretty good when you uncover them a bit! I pulled off quite a few yellowing fan leaves tdy, but really I'm kinda glad to be getting a few fans off. Jedi has a nice pine/light skunk smell, while the c99s are sweet and fruity...

Things are moving along, for the most part everything is doing great! Nothing like spending Sunday morning in the garden, I got to get in and check things out a bit closer. Jedi has a few aphids... I don't think spinosad is really MOST effective on aphids, but I think it might list them as like it might work or something. I think it is kinda helping a bit from when I sprayed a week ago. Haven't needed to since it seems, i may not need to again! (I hope). They seem to mostly be on yellowing leaves. I'll probably just start doing a water wash off next and going forward hopefully. No sign of any more cats on any plants.

picture.php

I keep on pulling leaves off the Jedi everyday, ones that are mostly yellowed only so far. I'll just stick with that for now, I don't want to get too crazy pulling off leaves, I don't really have time to do it anyways! The gradual amount everyday does help to open those buds up to the sun, nice gradual pace... There are some nice buds forming in there! I can rub the c99 leaves and not wash my hands after, the fruity/candy smell doesn't really smell like weed as much. But if I'm working in the jedi, that skunk/pine/tinge of lemon will STAY on my hands even after washing.

picture.php

Ok so there are definitely heavier yielding strains than the c99 bx1, but for what I would expect from running them indoors, these continue to head for better than expected! Just haven't had any real issues yet, they just seem to be thriving. Left is still ahead, stacking and getting frosty! Right will probably take the longest and end up yielding the most, and I think she is just really starting to pick it up a bit. Gave a nice 36 hr compost tea root drench to them all yesterday, and I'm sure the greenhouse environment and the diffused light are helping. Yes, this is definitely one of the big things that make fall my favorite season!!

Previous trends continue, c99's are excelling, jedi kush doesn't have the prettiest looks on the outside but the buds are looking alright. Everything is getting chunkier and continuing to frost up. Had some rain/wind come through last weekend, nice to have the plants covered and protected. Probably another 3 to 4 weeks left it looks like, so a mid/late october harvest is what I'm thinking.

Tied a couple branches on the c99, a few branches are starting to droop a bit and I can feel the weight building by swaying them a bit! Yah the c99s look great, i was reminded why i like them so much as my arms brushed some branches and I got that wonderful fruity sweet candy type smell... real nice! The plant on the right is definitely the most representative of what I think of when I think of c99. Its a beautiful plant, and the buds are really fattening up! I knew it was gonna be a strong finisher.
