how much kool bloom

I have just started a 4k, 2 4x8 flood and drain tables in 5.5 in sqare pots in hydrocorn. I am using GH miro/ bloom 6/9 flooding every 2 hours during lights on and 1 half way through dark cycle. I get my clones to root in 5-7 days, once roots are 1-2 inch I change water and add 1/2 strength nutes and set cloner to turn on 30 min off 30 min. week 2 full strength nutes. after 2 weeks I got 8-12 in roots so I transplant to flower. I am currently starting week 4 of flower and everthing is looking awesome. I run my 6/9 at my seed run spot on blumats for first 4 weeks then I run cha ching at 1/4 tsp. per gallon till flush. my questions are when I start my week 5 can I just put 1/4 tsp per gallon of kool bloom in my res (115 gallon rez use 80 gallons a week until later bloom) or is that going to be to strong for this system , its my first hydro experience and im in love. I am currently using ro water with .1ml of bleach per 10 gallons ever other day for root rot, is this ratio good or to week, it seems to be working so far.

gh's recirculating feed chart calls for a half tsp per gallon for the last week before flushing, some folks use it around the 2nd week of flower and the 6th week at a tsp per gal. honestly I think you'd do better using the lucas formula as a base in hydroton. the 6:9 ratio is a version of the lucas formula modified for coco by h3ad due to K that is present in coco. hydroton is completely inert so the lucas formula at 8:16 will put in you the desired target range of cannabis. also gh's recirculating feed chart is very nice for growing as well, I use it myself. hope that helps

sorry hydrolozed retard moment, so your feeding at little less than half tsp per gallon?
hugh midity thanks for the input, I don't think I need any stronger nutes right now the 6/9 is making leaves barley tip burnt. I run my moms and soil run in peat/ pearlite 60/40 on 6/9 on blumats and swap to 1/4 tsp per gallon to 1/3 tsp cha ching last two weeks and get great results. I figure since I have swapped everything else over why not kool bloom. thanks for the help I will try half tsp per gallon maybe a little less and see.

i have not gotten a ppm meter yet and i know most hydro guys don't use ml or tsp but ppm. what would be good ppm level on kool bloom if im using a hydrologic big boy water filter?

to each his own but I feel compelled to tell you again that you're running a modified lucas formula which was modified for coco, the lucas was created for your exact system, also with ro water you're going to end up with cal/mg deficiencies most likely. I used to run 6:9 myself and also got slightly burnt tips no matter what the ppm was and on 6:9 it ain't much. I now use a different feeding schedule that is a whole lot more ppms and I still get the same burnt tips, no less, no more and my yields have improved nicely as well, not that the higher ppms are better, but they are getting more of what they need instead of something that will get them by. if you really want to improve on what you're doing, look at what your weakest point is in your grow, a bottle of kb isn't going to help all that much. :tiphat:

I use 1/2 tsp (2.5 grams) for every 4 gallons in RDWC and in Soil i use 1 tsp (5 grams) per 4 Gallons. I start at week 3 though. I stopped using the Liquid Kool Bloom after I tried the powder.

I do it by weight, not volume in coco fiber. Granted E&F will be different, but .3g per gallon from week 6-8, .5g per gallon in week 9, flush week 10.

ok thanks i think ill try the 1/4 tsp per gallon and adjust from there. hugh i do run GH cal-mag at 2 ml per gallon and they are 3 1/2 weeks into flower and show no signs of deficiency. i am very happy with how they are doing right now, i will take some pics and put them up.

Sorry I misunderstood, thought you meant liquid.

I run the 2ml/gal liquid as I said from week 1-7 and I add in an extra 50ppm of dry on week 7. I forget the weight that gets me the 50ppm...I think it's 0.25g/gallon...I never use volume for those kind of things.

thanks, I don't have a ppm meter yet don't know if I want one, I guess it is better to use one and get nutes perfect every time. here are some pics of my girls day 25 of flower, mix of fire fly and candy dropped kush.
