Blumat auto watering

No for me the instructions for the maxi are the same for the standart.

I buy other tensiometer tu put one in each pot i want to stay in 60 to 120....


So in 11 liters i put one standart or one maxi ?....

One standard is fine in that size pot, even much larger. When I'm planning to transplant later into a larger pot though, I use a Maxi even in the small size. I have some standard ones now in 11 liter (3 gallon) pots and also a maxi in the same size. The adjustments do seem very different.

How do you guys feel about adjusting the 3 mil line length after the blumats have been dialed in?

@ rrog : You just saw I had a huge bubble of air ! i dont know how it s possible because it is not a small bulbble ( in the tube)...and in each blumat ( maybe not let them as long enough under water)

@skyview : i turn off all he system, let the soil to dry and tommorow or after tommorow i l do the setup again and go back to the standart blumat !

i will try again the maxi in my next "session" .

For those who have a tensiometer do you test the tensio in the bottom of the pot (with normal blumat and 11 liter) ?

Costs a few pennies... handy as hell. It's not how long you soak them. Dissolved gasses will form and I think you need to flush the lines, as well as the carrots. Get some pressure in there to blow out the bubbles.

I have all the drip lines lower than the larger supply line. The hope is that air bubbles rise to the larger supply line. Then the supply line also has a high end and a low end. Again, encouraging bubbles to collect and float to the higher end of the supply line, where I have a bleed valve to allow air to leave.

Haven't had a problem in 2 years now.

You can buy these one at a time or in bulk. I use them all over the house. In the kitchen, etc.

Hey guys thanks for turning me on to blumats. Currently running my first grow with them and everything running Aok. I also purchased the tensiometer and my question to other users is how wet do you run your pots? I'm currently running 60Mbar in the bottom 3rd of 5 gallon(18L) airpots. Too wet,too dry or who gives a rats as long as they are growing?

Thanks, I do remember some talk of it but after reading 216 pages of this thread the message got a little lost.
Some suggesting running heavy pots just before they runoff would equate to 20-30 Mb ,others running at the above levels would be a fairly light pot. I think I'll try a couple at different levels and see the results.

One of my blumats just stopped working, removed it and noticed it had dried up inside the carrot. They seem to do this once in a while, highly annoying.

Anyway, I changed it to another one I already had in soak. Still no water coming through? No problem with the lines, water poured out when exchanging the carrot. What's the problem?

Sounds like you could possibly have a piece of perlite or something in your 3mm tubing. Can you blow through the 3mm tube connected to that carrot?

If the medium around the carrot dries up, and the blumat cannot water the medium, the carrot will dry out.

A few pages back, someone suggested using a plastic fork to keep roots from growing up into the Blumat 3 mm line. Cutting a "V" into a plastic plant name tag seems to do the same thing and can remind you of the plant strain at the same time.

Will these work with 30 gal containers

I tried to read to see if my question was already answered but this thread is over 100 pages.

Anyone know the answers? Thanks in advance!

1. Does anyone know if these can be used on very large pots like 30 gal smart pots outdoors?
2. If so, how many per pot and anything else special needed for them to work properly?
3. I assume there is no way for this to work with the water below or same level as the pots, right?

1 - I use my blumats in 75 gallon beds.
2 - 1 blumat every 8-12 inches, nothing else needed.
3 - If you have the faucet pressure reducer thing that blumat sells, you can get away with it.
