P.P.K. pulse feeding problem...

I built myself a ppk hydro set up which is going great except for the pulse feeding.

I have a 360 gallon pump/pulse with 8 spike connector.
Using 1/4" tubing and want to top feed a few ounces of water every hour.

The system is simple.
30 gal RES. Sits on a 5 gal controle bucket. Feeds
Multiple plants. Each on a separate mini res.

I set the pulse pump in the main 30gal Res.

Pulsing water multi time a day helps keep salts under contole and promotes faster growth.

Problem is -
once the pump turns off the water still siphons till res empties.

How can I stop the siphoning effect ?

Punch a small hole in the feed line just inside the rez. When the pump shuts off, air will get sucked into the hole and stop the siphoning. When the pump is on, a small trickly will come out of the hole and back into your rez.

Now why didn't I think of that... So simple... Thanks Puscifer..:tiphat:

Lower your pump bucket.
You could get rid of the 5gallon that its sitting on and just connect the tire valves to the red bucket instead.
Good Luck Happy new year

Thinking way too many hoses running around the tent.

1" PVC pipe
Plumers glue
1/4" T- connectors

Using a 360 gal pump. (I now have 4 pumps)

Each line from the manifold will feed 2 watering rings giving me 16 rings to start with.

I made 2 manifolds as I might need one more as im thinking of running 3 different P.P.K's.

Works great on test run.

Are there any good threads around that explain how to build one of these systems without a million posts and no pictures?

{Alien}♧{Dawg}~Kiddie Pools/600 & 430 Vert\Build~Live}Step by-step...
Done in 7 Days~

Check out the last couple pages... I just turned, kiddie pools into one.

The are super simple and there are countless ways/sizes to build them.

Ive done mini PPKs from coffee can
to
Kiddie pool All in one PPKs...

A ppk is...

A lower bucket
A top pot with a wick
A control/pulse bucket with a float value and water pump.
A volume res...

Pulse of flood fed
Wide pot, bucket with holes, smart pots/air pots - Just about anything with a wick in it....

Seems complicated sometimes yet once you build one its easy money.

Go to Walmart and get a float value.
Get 4 small cheap totes with lids.
Find a cheap water pump (any small size)

Build a test mini ppk and wrap your mind around it..
Then..
Go big and go hard....

Vert~Ville and D9 are where it's at...
Pop in and dont be shy...
Ask away...

Latz...
:woohoo:

The Heart of a PPK.

Control bucket with a float valve.
You add the water pump and it becomes your control/pulse bucket.

The red coffee can serves to slow the rate of water level lowering between pulses/floods...

A small hole in the bottom of the can allows water out at a slower rate which in turn keeps your lower tote from overfilling after a few pulses.

This is what I was missing when I built this PPK system.

This control bucket allows you to control the level of the water and PWT, being fed to the lower buckets with the wicked grow pots above.

Mini me PPK

Good looking on the info Alien. Still tough to wrap my head all the way around. I am just not seeing it yet, but I think your whole design has me on the right path.
So this is a two form feed system with a wick feed and a pulse(drip?) water also?
