This is a short lived (Build Thread)

I simply dont want this build ta get lost in my main thread and thought this sounded like more fun.. Soooo.... Here it is...lol

Ok so starting from scratch in my 8' x 4' awesome Tent.
Cleaned, scrubbed and wiped down evey inch and fixed some safty issue's.
Empty and ready for somethin different...

The plan...
Well... Thats the fun part..
I have a idea of what I want and doing it on the fly..

Crash or fly... It's going to be done live..
If this does not work.

I have a plan B and we'll call it a lesson learned...

I would expect this thread ta last 2-7 days as it is only for the build and I will do the grow in my main vert thread.

I am a believer in the 15 minutes of work getz ya 45 minute of chill..
So..
If ya happen ta be here and care to suggest, comment, guide or just have fun..

Feel free as there is room for off topic-informative this or that..

This is a no worries about (thread jacking) zone...

Or.. Sit back... Stay quiet and enjoy the show.

Joints on all the tables.. Jars are full and admission is free..

Material-
2 x 43"Wide Pools.
8 x 10 gallon blue totes.
3/8" Black line's
PPK- System

Custom built pulse manifold
(Most likely-wave pulsing as the volume of water need to flood seems silly to try and handle)

Medium - Turface/coco/perlite mix (cleansed)

14 to 16 plants total - I have 21 ladies and 1 Pop to fit in.

A good sign...

My mix is getting a rain charge...

The totes have a ton of small holes and door screen on the bottom.
I clean my turface with the large tote using about 10-20 lbs at a time with a hose on high... then spray... I lose very little and the water starts brown and goes clear..
Then gets a good 10-15 minute spray...

Thats around 80 lbs worth, give or take 10..

Side note.. DIY Turface washer.

30-55 gallon trash can(Heavy duty)-Drum with lid..
A bunch of small holes all around the side-
Metal door screen on the inside all the way around.

Lay it on it's side.
Add a Heavy duty BBQ rotisserie motor.
Mount on 2. A frames
1" PVC manifold through the center of the lid, running the length of the drum through the turface.
Manifold has 1/8" - 1/4" holes every inch all over.- Connected to a hose.

So once filled, on it's support (laying sideways) and a hose connected with a spinner connection at the center of the top lid (wont twist) ya just turn the water on and let her spin..

I put empty wicks into the air pot ta keep the plant zones clear and make sure of hole placement.

So far so good.. Looks like I have enough mix for both pools...

No compaction of medium-whats so ever..

As ya can see there's a 4" space on top.
This will be 4" of pure turface..

Now.... There's a couple ways I could do this...

Going to think about this a minute. .

Maybe~~~~

keep the ladies in fabric pot and place on top or half buried. .
2 wicks long...

Humm...

Dawned on me I could use a stand for the fan and might as well save some mix so..
I added a upside down pot that has no mix under.

Should help the drain/saturation times..

Bamboo shoots cost a buck for 6.. Can't beat that..

Thinking netting on the inside of the frame..

I'm leaning towards taking the plant's out of tbe fabric pots-keeping wicks intact.

Seems the best choice. ..

No.. Netting around the tent frame ...

A couple pieces of string around the bamboo, would work better and not block as much light.

When I first saw the opening line of this thread i thought you were gonna make a kiddie pool into one giant ppk. Now that would be awesome!!!!!!!!!!! Not that this sucks by any means. I think you got a real good thing going here. My feeling is that the plants are gonna take off like rocket ships. Especially with the extra medium in the pool. I cant wait to see this shit rocking!!!
