Do you buy clones from clubs?

I useto but no longer will. My reasons are simple..
1:I don't like pests, I think Ive gotten every pest there is at one point or another from a club.
2:They are messy. Id say a good 1/4 of the cuts I've gotten were either mislabeled or an s1/cheap knockoff of what I expected.
3:I don't like supporting them when half the workers spread false information and they lowball vendors and rip off customers. if u want to do legitamite bidness at least hire some educated workers!
Wanted ta see where the rest of yall stand on the club scene, cuz im done wittum.

Personally I would never take that risk. I'd rather find what I'm looking for from seed. The chance of getting mites or any other problems would be too risky for me to have more work to do. I'm so crazy about mites that before I go into my house, i take off all my clothes and put them into a trash bag and tie it up. Then I open my door and grab my mop with bleach that is waiting for me right by the door and I walk gently to the shower as the mop with bleach follows me. Then I take my shower and don't have to worry about any mites. Obviously I had to deal with spider mites too many times for my liking.

Clones seem to always have bugs no matter where you get them. Seed is so much safer.

That was my breaking point! Fuckin Broad Mites... This problem would probably be an isolated incident if it wasn't for the clubs.

oh yeah,

it has been about 2 years since I last got a cut from a dispensary, but I never got bugs the worse loss I suffered were inferior selected phenotypes from seed and seemingly homemade hobby breeder strains. most of the known clone only cuts I got were legit, but I only shopped for clones from 1 place thought too.

funny story,

I once gave a grower friend some hindu kush bag seed to test his growing skills and see if it was worth having him help me grow some of my valuable stock... after a while of slow going he grew impatient and ended up giving them to a buddy, who then picked his favorite plant in veg and then proceeded to clone it... and he took those clones to a local shop and began vending cuttings to them... the shop was very impressed with his kush cuttings, I was told, soon there after our buddy flowered the "mother plant" only to find out it was male.

so there can be a level of ignorance/inexperience with both the club workers and the venders alike... weather it be poor selection of female plants to not sexing and growing out the plant before vending clones, lol!

lol, must be pretty common, I'm pretty sure he didn't vend there... but maybe someone bought his clones from the place he sold them to then "fathered" them out and vended their own cuttings of the same strain to that place too... that would be to funny.

clubs should only accept cuttings from reputable nursery companies or the people that vend them that same strain in flower form so they know exactly what it is... but that is probably asking to much

I only grow from seed. Either seeds I've bought or bred.

I am however, going to be growing from clone from Bud Trader, if I decide to take full benefit of state medical laws and help others with their growing.

Those will get quarantined off site and observed.

Lost gardens to mites, mildew and more mites, all from trading clones, therefore I don't do it.

I'd rather self my own crosses and hunt for winner seeds, like a real deadhead og. gnome sayin. lmao

Just take the personality and background of the grower into consideration and make your best guess. The club route seems safer because of the extra level of vetting, based on the personality of the dispensary owners.

You're taking a chance growing from clone, set up a quarantine area, on-site and sealed in.

If you want the fight, grow from clones.

It is tempting to straight up purchase 1, 2 & 3' tall plants and bloom them out.

I usually just scrap a garden, but you can fight mites and mildew and basically anything that comes your way. I just don't like it, because I feel it compromises the quality of the buds I'm smoking. I've even gone as far as to harvest a crop grown with distilled water. My own boutique head shit.

I don't commercial grow, however I grow like a commercial grower, in the sense of what genetics I'm searching for. I'm skeptical of the best of the best being sold at clubs. If you're making $20 a pop on a tree or trees in a 30 gallon container, I think you should sell that killer clone (it's probably more competitive in Cali, but not here.) in the club.

Basically when I grow from seed, I want it all. Big yields, nice structure, vigor and speed, lots of crystals, visual appeal, smell appeal, strong flavor and high, unique flavor and high - EVERYTHING!

So 30 seeds are shit, and one is the winner, 3 or 4 others are nice. Those are the clones you want, i hold those pretty close. Like growing 50 to find something that's the absolute shit and is a big yeilder.

When you bring home clones, dip em! E-20 & florimite minimum, lots of people use avid & merit too. If there's multiple vendors at a club it only takes one of them to have an issue & then all the clones at the club are suspect.
Sorry to hear that you had broad mites getmo. They were going around a lot last year. Broad mites can actually ride on white fly like little cowboys. Did they ruin your harvest, or did the plants power thru?

I think they powered through. hit um with azamax, then 3 in one safer, then azamax, then 3 doses avid, then 2 doses ogbiowar. Pretty sure I got rid of um but will really see when these clones start to grow.

You know you're going to need clones from an outside source at some point. If you are already using avid, then dip your clones in avid e-20 and florimite. You can use all three at once. 3mil per gallon. Also

I swore that I never would again after this years debacle of crappy weak bug ridden garbage that is out there and was late in putting an outdoor together last minute. But skoobie is right at some point you will be put in a spot that will force you to do so. Clubs and internet sites can lead to sheer torture but you can minimize all this frustration by having a game plan and educating yourself against the pitfalls.

1) Know what to look for in healthy, well rooted and mold-bug free cuts. If you can't inspect them in a well lit area don't take a chance(Out of some guys trunk, at night etc.)
2) Don't settle. If is not exactly what you want to see then pass.
3) Create relationships with the people who know what the hell they are doing if you find them. I went through so much crap from idiots that when I found a few who knew what they were doing I saved their info and kept in touch.
4) Have a strategy for defense such as a regimen like skoobies before introducing them in your grow etc.

Got root aphids my first time around, they didnt show up for a few weeks. Ruined my whole grow, trashed everything and bleached my cab.

That was a few years ago now and I just picked up some Madman OG clones from House of Clones in the SFV.. They seem good however one is a runt and hasnt grown much in about 3 weeks. The others took off and are huge now..
