Check this out, my ither main plant stopped growing and had dropped it's leave off , when i ground up a small, wet bud .

There's hundreds of little seeds in there. That plant was in the first environment, and something went wrong in there (noob alert)

The light in there is a ufo ( 25 bulbs x 3watts each ) led with individual diodes :woohoo:

The "#2" is flowering and was slowed in that pepsi bottle to a halt, i transplanted to the old #1 pot and it took off.

The inlet sits on a different axis, than the ones below I linked, but both are still centrifugal fans.] [Actually these are what I have been considering for breezing inside my cabs/fridge. I find that no interior ventilation invites mites.

These I use for exhaustion:
Search for 12v Dc and Fan Type: Blowers. You will find too many

Problem / lack of solution : I have a fan in the back of that pc, which is now packed with 3 cfls and an e27 screw in led. This will be the veg chamber. I can not find a way to power the fan,

i would rather not use the computer's power supply as it is removed and that space is the most usable for my cords. I NEED an exhaust fan of some type.

The other exhaust fan on my main thing , is a 16 dollar ebay fan that i bought because it plugs directly into the wall. I like that.

I stripped down a laptop power supply cord (the kind with the brick). I don't know why i had this cord, and i can get no reading from the stripped wires on my little multimeter.(voltmeter)

The fan is a 3 PIN (3 cords that lead to its plastic connector) are there any products , (fans and adaptors) that i can use to plug fans directly to the wall, maybe a cheap cord online?

I would like to be able to purchase a pc fan, then purchase that (hopefully it exists) cheap cord to plug it into the wall.

I would like to find an easy adaptor cord that will be able to "snap in" with most pc fans, without any more electrical work. I know china has it , i just know it! But i can't find it .. :blowbubbles:

Yes, their is an easy connector. The easiest way may be to find an Molex Ac Adaptor. Molex connectors are the ends of the pc fan, 2 wire, 3 wire and 4 wire versions all exist.

I think pricewatch.com would be good to look for those. Since they are computer related. But amazon, ebay, tigerdirect, newegg, frye's, they all probably have a version.

Other similar ways are AC to USB adaptors if your fans have USB plugs.

The third wire on your PC fan is yellow tach signal basically. You could also use it for PWM i believe which is just a type of voltage regulation.

4 wire fans are a PWM signal and Tach signal.

PWM and Tach wires are the only way to regulate rpm and sound etc. Plugging in the two leads [+][-] just gives you full continuous power.

There are probably other pre-fabbed cheap options for you to go with.

However, my knowledge is limited in those areas, as I am usually low in funds, so I focus on DIY stuff.

I run most of my fans off of AC cellphone adapters. These are usually regulated and the low voltage won't burn out my fans and they work on 5v's more than enough.

I hack apart the cords and solder and then shrinkwrap the leads. I supposed you could just run terminal connections between the ac adapter and the fan instead of soldering, this would also allow you to "plug and play" with some fan options.

I collect power supplies religiously, they get thrown out left and right and if you ask most people are more than willing to set them aside for you to come and collect them. The caveat is that the voltage spikes in these type of power supplies are common especially when they aren't under a full load current wise.


here is my current line of thinking:

I have a similar PC laptop power supply brick which outputs 19v DC 6A, so it has to be regulated down to 12v DC.

I will have one blower and one interior fan [maybe 2] drawing about 15w's and just over 1A@ 12vdc.

I was going to run a psu with a fan controller off a molex connector and then I could control all my fans separately. Still might, but PSU's are way overkill for what I need and they are switched mode power supply which has its ups and downs for powering small wattage draws like fans only.

However, if I use the brick, I will run it, into a voltage regulator [LM 3117?] and then output a dimmable channel for my blower and constant's for the interior fans.

One of the main reasons for me to do it this way is to have a future power source for a Raspberry PI or Arduino microcomputer.

Then I can control fans, sensors [heat, humidity, co2, etc, etc] and I can control LED's all from the same setup.

That's a lot in a little bit of writing, phew!

It's all a learning experience. It never really stops. You get new surprises and lessons with each grow even if it's the same fucken strain and set-up.

Those of us with small space and low wattage lights have the biggest challenges, really.

I mean, the "easiest" grows are outdoors in a private place in a state where they have dry, sunny summers...

And the same can almost be said for those cats who have big indoor rooms and 1000 watt lights...

But even under the best conditions problems & hassles can occur. So no use envying anyone. We all just do the best we can with what we've got.

On post #122 you can see where i removed the bottom leaves from that same plant seen under the led , right when pistils were about to show. You should see the stalk , after that pinch there are tiny little clusters of leaves (like 3 and 4 where there would normally be one) and the big fan leaves are slowly yellowing and those little leaves by the stem are starting to yellow a little, hopefully those little leaves will be "eaten" and turned into buds.

Got some "flower blooming MG nutrients i had lying around, did a diluted mixture, other than the fert balls in the soil this will be the only nutrients i've ever given them . Hopefully we will have good results.

Look at post 122, and the date, shouldn't my plant be alot further along?
