Everything about him is a bit less, except his delusions

Thankfully, he seems to have moved on

Lol, 13oz, from 900w is pretty sad....in his defense it probably is a bit less watts. The 100w integrated probably runs at 70w or so. My 90w runs at 60w. Still wouldn't brag about that though

Sorry if I implied all china leds suck. I just got two that haven't done much of anything. I've never had such a bad experience with a set of lights. The particular ones I bought are not the greatest. I'm sure there are lots of worthy leds that hail from overseas.

Didn't even realize the bickering was still going on. Just wanted to set a few things straight.

Hope you can get the thread back on track

I am aware that some have tried growing with this style. You might do a web search. I recall at least one comment about how cheaply made and internally wired the ones he got were

One problem to be aware of- the distance from glass to hanger is long

Also spot chips tend to create hot spots + the intensity 5-10" from center is significantly lower

Hi there everyone, esp. Petflora (I read this thread b/c of your post elsewere).

I throw myself on the mercy and combined knowledge of this forum. I am a MM user with a large-ish space available to me. I have everything planed (drip system, 12 x 5 gal buckets with perlite in paint strainers, rocks filling the bottom 25% to make up the reservoir in case I lose power or a pump fails. Yada yada yada. My main question is:
How do I fill this space with light for 12 large plants? The footprint is 7'x7' but the bench (where the 12 buckets are organized) is 6'x6'.

Can anyone recommend a lighting scenario that does not include HID lights? I am thinking a bunch of LED strips and PL-L tubes, top and side lighting. I want to avoid a complex solution with respect to moving heat around.

Thanks! Not looking to re-invent the wheel, I just want a solid solution without spending too much time or money on it. Keep in mind I am aware this is a relatively large space, so I will have to get the plastic out no matter what. I also definitely want to hear a few ideas bounced around, not just one sight answer.

Cheers, let's get pics of y setup posted in 90 days! Pride of the forum!

PS the bright ideas are not mine heh heh heh.

I dunno...maybe 4 growblu. Would make a nice simple setup. Not a cheap solution but that's a pretty big area to cover.

They got the longer fixture to cover a space like that...180 x 3w..380w actual draw...give you 42w sq/ft over a 6 x 6.

Either that or advanced diamond series..I'd try the growblu. I wouldn't mess with pl-l for flowering. Maybe led strips for side lighting, not sure it would be worth the electric draw though.

Just my two cents

Actually take that back...

Some led tubes around the perimeter would probably contribute greatly to overall health of plants. Not quite sure if they would be enough for main lighting source but there's one way to find out

First pics of the 2 dry weight, virtually stem free buds. I gave ~ 8 gms to a friend as partial payment

31 gms + ~8gms not bad for 2 clones under ~ 100w conventional leds

Here's pics from my current grow. My High Energy Rez is kickin-ass in the LED tent.

HOT5 tent (pic # 1) will have same Rez setup, just waiting on shipment to arrive, hopefully today, but in the mean time I have 3 small oxystones pumping some serious bubbles from my 35 l/m pump

Depending on your budget, consider 2-4 quality panels from A 51, Apache Tech. You can probably get a sweet deal on 4

Side lighting may be a problem due to space size, BUT, you can hang A19 bulbs in between, or better still, DIY wooden trees and mount 4ft tubes one each side vertically. Put the tree on rollers and move wherever needed.< I like this idea for large spaces

COBs + round parabolic reflectors could be the ticket

Ideal Industries and LEDiL collaborate to adapt chip-on-board array holders for LED luminaires

Date Announced: 20 Sep 2013

New adapters mate IDEAL Chip-Lok™ array holders with LEDiL reflectors

(pic did not copy but in link)

SYCAMORE, IL, USA and SALO, FINLAND -- IDEAL INDUSTRIES, INC. and LEDiL Oy announced an engineering collaboration that enables LEDil Mirella™, Angela™, and Lena™ reflectors to mate with IDEAL Chip-Lok™ array holders. As a result, lighting OEMs worldwide can now incorporate COB (Chip On Board) array technology from Bridgelux, Citizen, Cree, Nichia, Philips Lumileds and Sharp into their LED luminaires for higher quality, more cost-efficient production.

Can you check the link, it's not showing up for me.

I am interested in reading, I have been thinking about the Bridgelux RS series [cob's] not the Vero's and Ledil and LEDengin also make reflector's for these chips 16-40 degrees, lots of penetration for a high powered led.
Nobody talks about them, I don't know why.

Still working through the details to get some retrofit panels

In the mean time here's a pic of led tent + HOT5 taken yesterday

The HOT5s are taller and 'phatter' but > 3xs as much light

Leds are doing damn good under ~ 115w
