The Official Hempy Bucket Thread

The sink filter will reduce the amount of disolved solids but probably won't alter PH. You should check your PH after you add nutes to the filtered water and see what you get. If the PH is good your gold if not you have to PH.

I have an RO system, I pH every time-and have since the beginning. Sometimes it's a pain in the ass, but your ladies will enjoy their meals that much more. Good luck, and happy toKin'!

If I use a sink filter like a brita or just buy RO water from my local store do I have to PH when doing nutes?

Brita sink filter didn't change my ph at all. Tap water is about 9.0 here.

Keep in mind if you are using drops to check ph- Make sure you check ph before adding nutes as the nutes will discolor the water and alter the ph reading.

I ph my water, get it where I want it, then add nutes.

If I am doing a 400w vertical tent 3 x 3 tent system. Would there be much yield difference between a 1 or 2 gallon coco hempy bucket?

I would use 2 gallon buckets. I think it would depend on how long you are going to veg and how many plants your running.

He says he's getting better results than hempy's. I've been a hempy user for three years and I'm thinking of making the switch. He also talks about vert growing and how it's really only worth it if you have a lot of space. I'll try to find it and post the link.

Not meaning to be a dick, but sometimes I can't help myself. In his entire thread he briefly mentions Hempy buckets.. otherwise his grow has nothing to do with this thread. Not sure why we're going to see what he's doing.. He is indeed growing some awesome trees, but it still has nothing to do with this thread.. thanks for the heads up tho..

mgk

Thanks for the reply, guys.
I'm slowly wading thru this thread, from both ends.
I'm going to veg in a DR60 which is a 2 x 2 and I'm not sure how many 2 gallon buckets will fit with drain saucers inside. Hence my wondering about 1 gal buckets. If the yield difference is noticeable then I'll probably try 2 gallon rectangular garbage containers. Unless there is a caveat about square or rectangular versus round...
For some reason I'm feeling it may have a difference but cannot come to any conclusions on my own.
Anyone know what the diameter of a 2 gallon bucket is?
I'm going to be running Bogglegum &/or Sour Boggle & my veg time will be around 5-7 weeks under LED.
FWIW I will be running FloraNova Bloom with Floralicious+ and silica.

If you can't help being a disrespectful little runt then maybe this thread aint for you. You're new to this grow method so you might as well stfu whilst you're learning kid, or leave ;)

Take a look at donjuanmatus's thread he's using floc rockwool as his sole medium.
Hi man. If you used perl in the rez and floc rockwool as the medium it'd still be a hempy bucket and it'd still work well I reckon, despite what some troll says. Thanks for the info :)

Hi. Seeing as your lights and space is quite limited, I'd go for the 1gal bucket, which is roughly the minimum sized bucket for a hempy.

As for diameters of buckets, a 1 gal is about 8 or 9 inches and a two gal can be between 10 - 12 inches, depending on manufacturer.

Once again, I have displeased the master of not growing. Grassrot.. all I was saying is that what he posted had nothing to do with this thread. I am not a troll. I have read every inch of this thread and read with great patience all your ramblings even tho you don't grow a thing. So, now that you're in control of this thread, I'll sit back and stay quiet while you dole out pseudo information about something that you don't even participate in. Have fun pretending to grow weed.

mgk :moon:

might have to give that a try grassott's dad. I've loved hempy's ever since I saw this thread about 3-4 years ago. I didn't mean to piss anybody off when I was talking about the other guys thread. someone asked a question about vertical growing and DJM had a good post about vert on his thread. I should have been more specific. Anyway all his posts have been deleted so I will be sticking to good ol' hempy's. Peace

Here are my current Hempy plants . Just tucked them into their 2 1/2 gallon buckets today.
Ive got some of a couple crosses I made, Bubblicious x SweetCindy99 and White Widow x Avalanche along with a single Vermont Rosebud. They are about 3 weeks old at this point. FIM'ed them last night. Started from seed in coco/Perlite solo cups under a 4 foot florescent shop light with common grow bulbs.

Some root porn to show how they looked when they came out of their Solo cup Hempy homes.
