Mass/RI/Con Growers here! ...Part II

Yes careful choices ..... I moved to a new house as a fresh slate to clean up who know where I live.

But these 30k app fee and 500k escrow are ridiculous. Its just meant as a means for the state to cake up and giving the game to big businesses ..... that's why cig brands have trade marked marijuana cigs ect since the 70s

They knew this day would come and they knew the government would give them a piece of the pie.

Whatever as long as we keep the top elites out of their hands and remember quality over quantity well be fine ..... plus if your good you got people that are loyal and like to deal w you. I've seen and know people that will pay slightly higher prices to deal w one connect that always delivers and bud is on point.

Those soiless ladies look nice

Thanks for the compliments guys. Ran BioCanna for the last 7 months now. The veg nute is crap (Vega), but the flowering (Flores) works nicely. Though, I am seeing the same if not better results from my new(to me) soil mix so far. So it is probably best used as a booster for a soil grow..which I will toy with here in the near future. I have 6 clones to test with from 1-3 weeks into flowering...likely never touch the vega again.

Weekend is upon us!

Next additions: Nl x skunk, LA, Libery Haze < In that order.

Going to veg them as long as I can stand, need to get some bigger plants going :D

Damn highlighter I wonder who's inflated salary that moneys gonna go to :/

And now 35 applicants are gonna put up 30k for the next step .... wonder how many will be approved probably 1/3 will get approved which would net the state a cool 700k from that group of losers.

No doubt its a lot of coin but plenty of people have lots of dough to invest. Specially since the economy and markets have been so volatile, investors have more money on the sidelines instead of in the market than ever before. That is fact

So anyone that does get approved to open shop will make a huge return on their investment

That list is up now, 181 applicants! So over $200,000 the State makes once the dust settles for the 146 losers.

Me, I'm off to sell grams @ the beach. "It's medicinal!" :)

Is there an accurate representation of Casey Jones in the Mass/CT/RI area going around? Out of many dozens of strains lost, my CJ mom is one I will never forget. That smell, yield, stone.. best seeds I have bought. There were a few cuts going around that were held in high regard years back (truecannablis?) or maybe it was anothers handywork.

As far as CJ gives cannablis found a good pheno and I think Joe schmo(not sure on spelling) had a good work pheno of Casey. Not sure who's holding them if anyone but I do know a few cats in here held them at one point or another.

Yes! Joe schmoe. I insist if anyone has a chance to get their mits on an established CJ clone do not pass it up. I fondly (lol) remember camping seedbay back in 07' waiting for those beans to drop and I do not expect to ever see so many high quality plants in packs of seeds. It was a truly special pairing.

I was away from this for a year or so by choice, catching up on what's going on with MMJ leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Seems like a shakedown with the application process.

Is anyone doing the ROLS thing? I had been doing coco for years. This time around I've been growing a big veggie garden and planted comfrey, borage, nettles and the like. I've had my soil sitting for a few months now prepping. Going to top it with homemade compost and crack some beans. I haven't smoked in 8 months. I can't wait.

I've had 2 different cuts of CJ.One tall, sour d type and another shorter, stinky one with big fat buds.I lost both but would run them again without hesitation. It's like sour D in that you have to take care of the flowers right or they won't show their best side. Both plants produced very tasty smoke. You could taste the smell of the flowers in a joint and even the half a joint left over tasted great. It took almost a year to smoke one of the big ones I had.:)

Is anyone doing the ROLS thing?
Kinda! And I am happy with my results so far.

15 gallons sunshine advanced mix #4
5 gallons fox farms happy frog

5 gallons chunky verm

1 quart alfalfa
1 quart kelp
1 quart soft rock phosphate
1 quart greensand

1 cup azomite
1 cup oyster shell and coral mix
1 cup lime
I also threw in a good amount of EWC, and just eye balled it... i dunno. Then dosed the whole thing with an aerated microbe brew of Biocanna vega and myco grow soluble.

I started using it after only 7 days, as I ran out of medium! :D It's been doing fine, the unused portion is now around 2 months. I don't add nutrients, or pH adjust my water anymore. I will post a bud shot tonight when the lights are on.

I am also recycling my current plants soil-less medium (mostly coir and peat) into the container of soil too. I am not sure how far it will go with out remineralization, but I have plenty of left over amendments from the first mix.

Like a whole page with out bud shots!

This is going in the Sunday morning bowl:

That's great. What is the natural pH of your source water going in? My mix has been sitting for a few months. I have cloves growing in the bins with light on them waiting for something special. I've been collecting and drying large amounts of comfrey and nettle. I am going all-in with this and going to do no-till. I followed cootz mix which is:

50% Organic Canadian Sphagnum Peat Moss (Alaska Peat brand specifically)
25% Organic Parboiled Rice Hulls
25% Homegrown EWC

To each 1 c.f. of potting soil I add the following:
4 - 5 cups of rock dust

4x - Glacial Rock Dust - Canadian Glacial (Gaia Green label)
1x - Bentonite - from the pottery supply store in PDX
1x - Oyster Shell Powder
1x - Basalt
1.5 cups of a mix I make up that consists of equal parts of kelp, neem and crab meals (Measure by volume and not by weight.)

I substituted the glacial rock dust for locally sourced granite rock dust. The mix looks and smells great. A bit more home-made compost as a topper and let's see what happens.

The pH is usually over 7, old-city tap water. And I have plants in week 4 of flowering with no signs of any issues. I haven't even hit them with a tea, like I was planning to...they don't seem to need anything but water every few days. I should have said, I doubled up that mix; so I have 60 gallons in rotation + slowly adding in the soil-less mix as they get harvested (mostly done)

I am not yet ready to go no-till, but from what I read around here cootz knows whats up. My version is like a store bought hybrid, not much local sourcing involved; he would likely frown upon my list. hahaha... I have a worm bin finally, need to get un-lazy and order some worms. I was thinking about the rice hulls.

I hope you start a thread with your mix, so we can compare some notes... I have yet to post over in any of the rols threads.

Good to see a couple fellow local organic terrorists. Welcome to the club. ;)

Been doing the organic dirt thing for about five years. I'm a bit of a one trick pony, I guess.

DZL, compost should be about 20-25% of your total mix by volume. That way you won't have to eyeball it, you don't want to skimp on compost - it's the key to the whole operation. You might want to check out some of Microbeman's posts about adding myco to water, it's basically a waste of product. They need direct contact with roots so you're best adding it directly into the hole when you plant into your dirt.

Nice mix, Applesauce. No-till is the shit. If growing got any easier than that I could teach my dog to do it. Have fun man, that first smoke of your own after all these months is going to be a trip! Enjoy it.

Ras,

The EWC is not anywhere near 20% of the entire mix, that is for sure. I have more kicking around and there has been zero signs of burn so I will add more to my pile. Thanks for the tip! :D

About the myco-grow, it has a lot more than mycorrhizal spores in it; I add it in all stages and transplants, as you said to the root ball directly and but also as a tea.

For anyone interested in what I am referring to:

DZL, google 'mycorrhizal trichoderma effects on' and see why bagging the two together is a terrible idea and basically, a waste of your money. Using both is fine, I do but I don't use them together. Myco is used from the start in veg and then trichoderma comes later on, late veg/transition into flower/early flower. YMMV as to when to use trichoderma but you might want to reconsider buying something that combines it with myco if you want to get the benefit of using myco's.

Cannabis doesn't utilize ecto, either. All it needs is ENDO strains. BioAg's VAM is a good option for this and the price ain't too bad. http://www.bioag.com/images/VAM_Endo_Tech_LR.pdf

Awesome, this is great stuff!

Like you said, a few quick google searches and it is pretty clear. Thanks for taking the time to point it out, and the VAM link!

So glad this discussion opened up, because even bumbling around the plants are looking sweet. Can't wait to get a better grasp on it.
