Hi Folks,
Latest diary update:

The false seed pods or ovaries are just beginning to open. There are very few clear trichs now, almost all have turned milky under a mic. Still only about 25-30% amber trichs, so still s few days to go before I switch to the flush.
I tested a bud last night and yeah ok it tasted pretty shit, being dried in the microwave a few minutes after cutting. However, it did knock me out after one doobie and I had to go to bed. I slept for 5 hours which is rare in itself but I hadn't taken my pain killers and that would normally have woken me after about an hour. So I'm chuffed to bits with the outcome thus far. We all know that a lot of the strength comes at the end so I'm really looking forward to the final, cured product.
Stay safe people & happy growing :tiphat:

Good job, Iffy! How long are you going to flush and are you going to use anything but PH'd water to flush?

Hi Drift,
I always flush with AN's Final Phase. 20ml/L for the last 4-5 days. The last two days I switch the lights off so they sit in darkness up to the chop.
I don't have RO, I have water with 180ppm out of the tap so I fitted a ceramic & charcoal filter inline & that seems to do the trick. Most nutrients are formulated to be used with tap water (here in UK anyway) so I'm happy with what I'm using:

Canna Aqua Vega A&B - Veg
Plant Magic A&B - Bloom
Plant Magic Bloom Boost - Bloom
H&G Roots Exelurator (Brilliant product) 1 - 4 weeks
Humic/Fulvic Acid (Home mixed from bulk powder) Throughout the grow
Shropshire Seaweed (Liquid extract) Throughout the grow
H2o2 1% Throughout the grow.
Organic unsulphered Molasses. Throughout the grow.

I'm also putting together a side-by-side trial for my next run, using a blend of Chitosan & GA3 (Giberellic Acid) as a foliar spray.
I plant to start spraying 8 plants with the solution from week 3 of flower to week 5. Four of the plants I'm spraying will also be subjected to a regime of 'mechanical damage'. The remaining four plants will have no treatment.
I believe this treatment will stimulate the plant's natural defence against a (simulated) insect attack and produce a lot more thrichomes. This should result in a stronger, more powerful bud at harvest.
That's the plan anyway. I'll keep ya posted!
Stay safe my friend & happy growing. :tiphat:
Hope you're up & running again Drift.

I sure wish I was even close to up & running. Just got off the phone with mortgage co. trying to get Insurance $$ released so I can get general contractor started. Seems Mort. co. "lost" one of the pieces needed to get this started. But they sure didn't lose the 15K ins. check that was in there. I know their run a round is all about holding on to that money for as long as they can so they earn the interest on it. If you could see me right now you would see steam coming outa my ears. :wallbash: Sure wish I could... :bat:

Going to try the Humic/Fulvic and the Roots excelerator. How is H2o2 figured at 1%? It comes in different strengths. Is it mostly to keep the molasses from going biological?

Man that sucks. It's just as well murder's illegal, because there's an awful lot of people in this world need removing from it!
Hope your situation improves soon mate. My Motto: Non Illegitimus Carburundum - means - Don't Let The Bastards Grind You Down!

I've heard people using 2 & 2.5% H2o2 (17.5%) but I just like to keep 1% going in every res change and occasionally in between refills, especially when it's hot. Some of my friends use the 'food grade' (35%) H2o2 but its all the same, just use half.
I can't recommend H&G Roots Exelurator enough! It's the best on the market IMHO.
If you grow in soil, the granular Humic powder is fine but if you're growing full hydro like me, the sediments can be a problem. So I use a soluble humic product, which I've only just bought so I can't really comment on it. However, as to the using of Humic/Fulvic generally, I can't recommend that enough either. In my recent experience, it's the one single additive that made the biggest visual difference to the overall health of the plants.
Stay safe & happy growing :tiphat:

Hi Folks,
Latest diary update:
I had a partial crop last night. Just took off the mature, top buds.

Nugs! :woohoo:

The rest of the girls look virtually undisturbed! I think I've taken about 8 - 10 Oz off the top but I can hardly notice any difference. A little more room in the canopy maybe which was part of the reason for the crop. You can guess the other.

Post Crop.
Going on the Final Phase tonight.
Stay safe people & happy growing :tiphat:

That first clipping didn't take much off by the looks of it. Do I see a bit of purple in those buds or is it the lighting? Keep up the fine work.

Thanks mate. Yes they do have a purple tinge to them. I'm not sure weather it's due to the high temps or not but I like it!
I got so zonked on it last night, I slept like a top!
Take it easy Drift and all the best for your next grow :tiphat:

Hi Williyweed,
Yeah I do keep all the 'sugar' leaves mate. I usually stick it through my butane shooter when its dry & make some hash. My pal gave me some filter bags so I might try an iced water sieve this time.
How's things with you? :tiphat:

That sucks man. Was it the heat that killed them?
I've got to cut some clones off my ICE mothers tomorrow. Be ready just after the clean down then.
Hope things pick up for ya dude!

i am guessing the extra heat did them no good,i may reveg one of the ghs cheese.but looking at the tiny buds:-( .will have to think hard about weather i want it taking up the space!.i did have to keep them in the dark for a week, so partly my fault but did think they would pick back up.wrong again.but maybe i could get a bit more out of them the second run.just so i can say something good about the seeds. lol
anyway keep well and speak soon .willyweed

I have found them to be a bit heat & nute sensitive. I reckon to get the best from them, they need a pretty 'ideal' uninterrupted grow.
Good luck with your next run :tiphat:
