I'm so fed up with the wiring so I removed all wire today to be rewire everything and make the plant as small as possible, this way I hope to be able to dodge this activity for quite a while.

Looks very messy and some branches had to suffer a lot :whip:

Over and out!

There'll be only weekly updates from now on because the new wiring works so nicely (plus the stretch finally stopped) that, besides watering daily, I don't have to do anything with the plant ;)

Day 48 since I made the switch to 12/12!

Sadly, the leaf to bud ratio isn't that good, A LOT of leaves and no thick but frosty buds. Considering that I'm running 9Watts of (too blue) light and a too nitrogen heavy fert, I guess it's pretty good :D

I upped the fertilizer a bit again but I don't think this is going to change much in terms of bud structure. There's a lot of popcorn and the mainstem itself is pretty thin.
Yield won't be that much but I'd happily break the 0,5g/W barrier, not sure if feasible.

BTW: I'm thinking of changing the NW LED in favor for another WW. Not sure yet! Edit: Nevermind, I don't have any LEDs left.

Hey Tebos, maybe try a little defoliation ta get the lower buds some light? Most of your bud's have finished stretch and bud-set, so there should be little to no negative impact. Will definitely save time come harvest. I find high leaf/calyx ratio to go hand in hand with tight nodes, so It's something I just deal with since tighter nodes=denser bud's. Looking beautiful nonetheless!

Thank you for the kind words, Linkedlight.

And great advice Neekz, I thought about that too, question is (being a full beginner and all) do I remove all leaves or just those on the top?

really great job there tebos! love your little setup there, hope its going to be GREAT SUCCES!

dont go to hard on the leaves tho, it need to use its energy flowering, not recovering. I can only speak for myself tho and works best for me. but wouldntremove anything that weren't a problem... big kudos

I just remove anything directly blocking bud-site's (If tucking don't work.) They will get stressed if you go picking every fan lol, I have learned the hard way, piles on a extra week or two to finish if you give her the "Brasillian Job" ;P! I do notice a lot more frost when buds that are shaded are given more direct light. Good going, and I just came up with a title for your next round, "Tebos: Taking out the Trash!" hehe...

I couldn't wait and probably made a bit of a mistake :wallbash:

Let's hope it wasn't too much but if I hadn't picked them, the lower buds wouldn't have access to the light.

Also the smell changed, it's now some kind of metal, fishy, sour chemical, really disgusting I tell you. In the course of actions I also replaced the filter mat with a new one.

On top of all that stress I probably gave her too much fert, minor nute burn on the tipps, watered her with tap water today.

I think she will handle it, maybe a little delay in vigor, but at thisstage she should cope well. They definitely are gonna get some more light now. Funny you say that about the smell, a couple days ago one of my AK's was just faintly smelling nice and fruity. Today she reaks of rotten sickly-sweet strawberries, slightly unpleasant, yet intriguing. No signs of mold so should be a interesting smoke...

Good stuff Tebos! I have a little cab set up around the same size as yours that I'm just getting off the ground now...will get around to making a thread eventually :)

Out of curiosity how far away from the light is the canopy now? And when they were seedlings?

Looks like your gonna come in over 1 w per gram.
I can't estimate the weight because I never weighed wet buds before, would be great though :D

Thanks! The distance is now around 5-6cm (2-3"), seedlings were at the bottom, ~20cm (8") to the leds.

packing up nicely! keep it green!
uhh, quite severe defoliation there, but funny how the stem is bent into S letter, which was barely noticeable before.

peace :smoke:

Personal Opinion: with a light so weak, in terms of watt - lumens - penetration, I think you would have had to keep the sun leaves in order to have a reserve of nutrients but also help to take advantage of all the (limited) available light :)

Yes probably! But the popcorn at the bottom didn't have any access to the light and I want it getting a bit bigger at least. You're right though, too radical defoliation :-E

you're still good, bro.
this plant is WEED and you will be surprised how strong and forgiving it is ;)

just let her grow back now and she'll be fine. heisse Schokolade!

Yea bro defoliating won't necessarily effect overall yield (Unless you smoke fans...), just prolong the flowering. Had he done it at say week 2 or 3, it would have had a traumatic effect, but once stretch and a majority of bud-sites have formed there is not much to lose. Helps the lowers frost up with l.e.d.

How is it going since the defoliation? :) I defoliated a few leaves as time went on, mainly because my cat would bitch at me for not giving him a leaf every time I came out of the room and he was waiting for me. Hehehehe... haven't done that in a while because, well... not enough left to spare! He'll just have to wait until I harvest now.

As I recall, you were a day ahead of me in flower. Are you getting close to your harvest?
