Whats up wildgrow, ballest is major name brand magnetic type. I really believe mine was affected by lightening strike. The one I got as a replacement...who knows what was going on at that location to cause that damage. You know how some ballest have the two compartments to allow for better cooling? Well, this one was terribly off kilter like it had been twisted with great force. It was crazy. Anyway I had just unplugged my ballest from surge protector a few days previous for some reason and had it plugged directly into timer. Really cant give retailer name but they are legit. Finally received new ballest the other day, plugged in and we are up and running again. The only issue is how long they are gonna have to stay in flowering, the red eyed genetics are around 5 weeks in with bud formation all over the place. Im thinking I'll let them go another 7-8 weeks , depending on what tricombs tell me. Never had or heard of this situation before so I'll just play it by ear . Hows your girls coming, I'm really digging the thin leafs on yours. they are looking very nice. Peace

I musta missed the part about the lightning.

Theyre doing good, thanks for asking. Ill probably feed them tonight and get the BMs into the pantry under the 400. I need to move them along and make room for the Bodacious testers.

I ended up cutting 2 of the san juan sunsets today. They were looking pretty wimpy and I really cant afford the space on such an iffy plant. I may have to chop 1 more sjs, but i,m holding off. The plants closest to the shop light ,which just happened to be the seattle sealions are looking great. I do have clones of each plant and will continue the test with those. It was 100% the lack of light and in no way related to the genetics. It sucks but them are the breaks. All the plants were looking great before the ballest mishap. Sorry for the delay Red and hope you dont hold this against me when considering for future testing. Peace

just a couple of pics of one of the seattle sealions. They faired better than the san juan sunsets, just because they were closer to shop light. Theres 2 more sjs that I,m gonna give about another week and if they dont pick up then I,m gonna chop. The clones are ready to be transplanted and I will flower those out to continue test. The SS smells so good..like sweet, musky grapes, very nice. The SJS doesnt really have much of a smell but I think its not a true representation of the plant as they basically went with minimal light for 3 weeks. Im to embarressed to take pics of those as Ive never had a plant that bad.Peace

Had a chance to pull a few of the seattle sealions out of the tent and I,m so impressed with the amount of tricombs. They are covered. And the smell is out of this world. As sweet as you can imagine with a fruity pebbles undertone. The majority of the buds are really solid . They are at 47 days flowering but you have to take into account that for at least 21 days they were only lit up by a 2 bulb 4 foot shop light. Cant wait to grow the clones out , flowering a little sooner to control height. Peace

Thought I would throw up some impressive root porn . This is from one of the san juan sunsets that was cut at 6 weeks. It was cut due to ballest quitting at week 2 of flower and the plant having insufficient lighting for 4 weeks. Cant wait to have a chance to see what the sjs can do with ideal conditions.Peace

wildgrow, I ended up chopping all but one san juan sunsets and with the drama of the grow I dont feel that either will be a "true" representation, but the seattle sealions smell great. They (ss) have also put on decent weight considering the circumstances, dense buds. Both have a very good amount of trichs.I have no doubt that I will keep several of the seattle sealions. The upcoming flowering of the clones will determine which ones are kept and the san juan sunsets characteristics . Both bush up nicely and stretch at least 100%. Both traits I like. I do dig the citrus smell of the ss and the sjs has a pleasant smell that I cant put a finger on yet.Peace
