Hey all, gardens are lookin great, wanna thank my main man Sticky for poppin in and gettin some pro advice on what was goin on with a few of our plants. Had it in my mind that they were gettin to much water, been havein some rain on and off for a few weeks and just seemed they were to wet.

So we laid the water to um today, hopefully this is what they needed. I was cipherin on it today, and a blurb from TomHill when I was workin with him " you can't overwater your outdoor plants" came to mind. Hopefully it is just a waterin issue and not something else.

On that note, has anyone had any contact with Tom lately, I've seen he was here in June, but nothin since. Tried a pm, and have called him to no avail. Kinda worried about him, and hopefully some of you guys have seen him lately.

Thanks guys
CBF

Some great looking gardens being posted up !!

For the record, my full term babies are not in Vermifire. I used it in the light dep and for these Blueberries in the 65 gallon smarties. Absolutely love the stuff though.

Took a couple quick pics this morning..

You guys are all crazy if you think you can't over water your outdoor plants. Where you guys are growing where the air is thin and hot I might agree. But here in the bay area I am watering only 2-3 gallons of water per plant. My plants are not as big as your guys, but I do have a couple that are at least 8x8. Mine are also in the ground.

It all comes down to your soil water retention, and weather. Obviously this creates a huge variation.

Edit: Btw, I have personally almost killed outdoor plants with over watering. It can happen.

I'm right there with ya .... you can overwater ..and I think you will agree obviously this is an issue if you are growing in a tropical location or near the coast....other than that .... where the days are long and HOT ... girls get really thirsty :tiphat:

Does anyone of some good ways to store some pollen?
As sticky says you can freeze it, will remain viable 5 plus years ime, you want to ensure its dry, and stored in a sealed container, like a mason jar.

Use some type of desiccant in the jar. I keep individual pollens in baggies with rice in the jar.

I dunno if it is true b it worked for me; I remember reading long ago that pollen stays more viable if you put it in the fridge for a week or so first while its drying out before freezing. Just so it's not such a radical temp change.

I use those old fashioned film containers to store pollen. The cylindrical black ones.

Thanx for the respsonses I usually just keep it in the freezer but I had someone tell me pollen degrades faster in the freezer. Either way it works so I wont try to fix something thats not broken

I use small plastic baggies or folded scraps of paper in pill bottles or film canisters topped off with rice in another container of rice. Just used some over 3 years old and I'm sure it'll keep longer. I will say break up your pollen into smaller batches so you can use it several times. You never know if you'll like it and want to breed with it again. Leaving it in one big bag going in and out of freezer makes it go bad much quicker ime.

The scoop on freezers: fridge is better than a regular freezer because they(freezers)semi-thaw regularly to keep from icing up. If you have an old fashioned ice box - that is preferable as it stays cold. I'd still transition from fridge with something to soak up moisture to freezer in case any moisture ruins the pollen upon freezing.
