Sam_Skunkman's dry sift method

C

Chamba

So now my dry sift is a chemical extraction? You really can't read, can you?

You're the one who said you do a dry sift run or two, then use solvents on the half sifted material because it's not worth it with your method.....anyway, you can now go back to your ranting, swerving and twisting. Have you considered politics as a career?, you'd be a natural.

and I gather from your off topic rant that this method is not patentable ...ok got it.

You have pictures?

Never bothered taking pics, just making hash when I stumbled on it. Does just what I said...vibrates and tumbles. Cleaning it is hardly necessary if its dried and prepped right.

You could get a very clean product with whats called elutriation. Its a step in how they make the ink in the kindles. A large tube is fixed with a flow rate meter at the bottom and the theyre separated from the other material by density. Heavier stuff sinks and the lighter stuff is pushed out the top, product floats in the middle. This is a DRY sift thread though so never mind that. :blowbubbles:

I did say that. I also said it's not worth it 'to me'. Doesn't mean it's not to somebody else.

You're already basically wasting a half hour on either of the tumbler or box, so what's the difference in my method if you choose to do the same exact thing? Nothing.

I'm not twisting anything, you can't read.

I'm not wasting any time, if you could smoke my blonde sativa dry sift made from tropical sun grown bud then even you would see why....I know the quadraphonic, technicolor high from that would be a higher quality than the most purest dry sift you can make from just about any indoor tan bed 60 day bud with it's monotone blurry buzz...but with your method and tropical sun grown sativa plants, the sift would be sensational.

...you've been saying you will give up the method for $99, that's pretty stupid, because if it really is a unique method that is not currently used and has not been made public then it might be patentable ...this is what a smart person would do, apply for a patent and then this method cannot be used commercially. Also, doing this has the added bonus that the method will be able to be read about on US Patent website and folks will be able to make dry sift with this method at home..a patent lasts for about 20 years, so when legalization comes, you will be able to license your method to corporations and make considerable amounts of money from it....potentially, there are tens of thousands of dollars there to be made from such a patent each year after cannabis prohibition ends. That's what I would do...so Patent it before some one here or somewhere else with lots of trim to play with stumbles upon your method and makes it public so it can't be patented or does the smart thing and patents it themselves before you get off your ass and do it.....and then where will you be? .

best advice so far.

I don't see how you can make very much without a tumbler. I have some I aged for a year that is really good. I will ger the camera out today and get some shots.

Dude.. I live in Northern California.. an hour from the Emerald Triangle.. please don't talk to me about how good your stuff is, because you're honestly coming off like an ignorant asshat.

I really enjoy your 'what if' scenarios however.. like.. 'what if' you actually showed up with a picture of your product.. instead of just talking out your ass?

What if, indeed.

The tumbler is possibly the most UN-effective way of collecting dry sift there is.

Again, taking dry, brittle, microscopic pieces of contaminant and then TUMBLING THEM AROUND.. for minutes on end.. isn't going to result in pure sift.. almost ever. Run it for a minute or two.. you might get something. What's to say you're able to separate stuff?

Am I supposed to actually believe you people that a single screen on a fucking tumbler is going to catch every resin head and different sized one at that.. all at the same time somehow that is unknown to physics and logic? Somebody explain how this is any different from using a single screen that's flat and just scuffing it. Because it's not.

I make far more with my method than with anyone who is using a dumb tumbler. And as a general rule, both my grades melt.. both without needing to be refined.

If you want commercial grade bs to have 'lots of' just run the stuff more than twice, and for more than a couple minutes. That's PRECISELY what you people are claiming is 'so good' about the tumbler..

LOL. It's like you guys can't comprehend basic English.

so your argument against tumblers is that you can do it faster on a large screen? am i getting this right?

Faster, better, cheaper, easier..

Why would anyone in their right mind spend 3 or 400 bucks on a machine which can't even give you full melt except on rare lucky occasions?

It's a crapshoot more than an actual method.

well if you only run it for a minute or 2 you can get some pretty darn clean stuff from a good pollinator.

so my next question would be how is the yield of your first grade? are we talking the same 1% yield that Sam has mentioned?

i have to say i'm intrigued, almost tempted to start making dry sift again instead of always making bubble.

Again.. $400 so you can run the thing for 2 or 3 minutes and call it quits? Uhhhhhhh... ripofffffff

My yield on the first grade is better than the 2nd grade. It allows almost all the heads to come through on the 1st pass, and when the 2nd is done it's damn near as clean.

Yield is closer to 7-10%.

don't be obtuse man, of course you don't just run it for 2 minutes. you run it for 2 mins then collect the resin then run it for 10 minutes, collect the results and then run it for 20 mins to get the last bit.

i was only talking about the step that might yield you something close to what you showed.

can't remember exactly what Sam said he yielded on average, but i know it was shockingly low. 7% doesn't sound so bad, so you guys might not be using the same method?

so i suppose you dry your trim real well, you don't break it or crush it, treat it more like you would buds then trim, possibly dry the trim even more then you would buds using the dehumy. then i imagine you gently pour the trim on your large screen and do a 2 minute shake and shuffle of the screen. maybe making the trim hop around on the screen. then collect your full melt dry sift? lol is that it? you did say it was simple.

Hope full the pic will work. Here is a piece already pressed. 7 to 10 percent is about right.

Shaking does damage too. We have been talking about a microscopic level, right? Peace GS

Yep.

And again.. I love all the people who claim 'oh, it's great.. been doing it 20 years.. blah blah blah' yet can't produce a SINGLE shred of evidence to show us how 'good' you're doing it.

Lollerskates.

I'm not. I'm pointing out that $400 for something I can do for almost FREE is a joke. Sure, you can run it for 2 mins.. then 2 more.. then 10... and what? End up with 2 tiny bits of good stuff and a boat load of crap? Yeah, no thanks.

I can assure you, we're doing it differently.

Everyone should be using dry trim.. not just me.
