I've been itching to try out some form of 'Chitosan' spray to activate the girls' defence mechanism, to produce more trichs. However, If I've learned one thing recently, it's to ask here & research thoroughly before attempting some controlled tests. I haves posted the question on another thread but with virtually no results. Have any of you guys tried this substance??
Chitin, the powdered shells of marine creatures is used to produce Chitosan and is included in AN's Bud Factor X. It stimulates the production of both Giberellic & Jazmonic acids, which in turn stimulate the growth of new trichomes - result - stronger buds.
I can buy finely powdered 'food grade' Chitosan on Ebay, with instructions on mixing & dosage. Would love to talk to someone who's actually used it. Failing that, I shall just buy some & crack on! Obviously I'll keep you guys up to speed.

Latest update to the PC grow diary.
The girls are maturing beautifully. The smell has died down a bit but still smells of dead bodies a bit & well funky.
Quite a nice even spread to the canopy and strangely, very little evidence of low growth between the lights like the last grow.
Res change tomorrow. I know they've been held back by the recent heatwave. There have been a few days of virtually no growth and several days of reduced growth, as temps went above 25/26.
So another week on full nutes and then the switch to 'Final Phase' for the flushing, before two days of water & darkness. Then - CHOP!

Thanks bud, much appreciated. I'm chuffed to bits with them.
I flush as per 'Final Phase' instructions, I think its 4 hours from memory and then a flush through with water.
The trichs are starting to turn amber & orange under a mic. About 20% at the mo - aiming for about 50% before I crop but I know that will only be a week, 10 days tops.
How's things with you fella?

Seedbay had them in the IC Mag server fund.
Not so good. My G -Grow got ripped, all of them buckets & all. Still working on repairing the sinkhole...so it's slow & quiet.

Latest grow diary update;
The girls are showing an old trait I experienced with the PP1. In late flowering, they start to elongate at the tip, to grow like 'fingers'.
In the PP1 they would sometimes grow to 6" long. These PC 'fingers' are not so pronounced and the buds are denser & harder. It certainly isn't a bad thing as you can actually see the growth, as opposed to the gentle swelling of usual bud growth.
Under a microscope, the trichs are about 20% clear now, the rest milky and about 30% amber. I'm expecting the calyxes to start opening in the next few days and the fluorescence to really kick in.
All good so far.
