hooray! next run!
hooray! seed run!
:lurk:
will the male sit in the cab or flower elsewhere and you would just collect his pollen and do the magic manually? :)

tell me my friend, what is the purpose of 48hrs darkness immediately before harvest, i rarely see folks playing with photoperiod in the final stage?

Hello my friend, your grow is kicking ass!! always lurking!

The male is @ 18/6 , sexed by preflowers, i have a cut that i switch @ 12/12 when i need him , in the flo cab or manual ( lock him up in darkness at least 12 hours a day).

I allways finish with 24/48 hours of darkness when possible. The reason are the starches present in the plant at day time, and few hours after darkness. At day time when photosynthesis is active , the starches rises from the roots as part of the nutriment chain.

The reason of the dark period is to give enough time for the starches to go back to the roots, as they taste very harsh when smoked.

I have been reading a lot about this, i have also found that people believe the plant will produce more resin( trying to protect the flowers/seeds by producing resin ) because thinks is dying, but i never got it confirmed.

the resin will have more terpens ( being very volatile ) not disturbed by heat , dry air , fans, etc.Never got it confirmed, but is easy to anderstand is probably right, my garden smell most after the dark period, the smell is the terpens evaporating:biggrin:

Bless S

Started watering the sub with some runoff , roots should be fine by now, waiting at least 1 more week before switching to 12/12. Mainly observing plants reaction to this way of growing, the mextiza and the panama. the panama have suffered some in the small container prior to transplant, looks like she be fine.Been giving very little N ones ( fishmix ) have to make sure there is little N in the sub before switching to flo-

Houston , we have a problem!

Houston , we have a problem!

2 weeks ago the plants started to show stress, leaves getting yellow with brown spotts, general unhealty shape ( leaves ), etc. Been looking at the possible problem and i find out some of the ferts was old and fermented ( alg a mix )

picture.php

this pic is taken today, I flushed the sub with 3 gallons of plein water,
Hopefully they recover soon.

However, i am considering to start a new run with the cuts i have as a reserv in the veg cab, i keep you updated.

Shit buddy, that's no good. Can't say I've ever seen nor heard of a bottle fermenting, but hey these things are bound happen with organic elements from time to time. Will definitely keep a closer eye on my bottles in the future.

1 week of 12/12

After 1 week of 12/12, and after the flush 1 week ago, the situation in the flo cab

picture.php

moved a cut from the mextiza male in the flo cab for pollination

picture.php

backside

picture.php

left size, the mextiza ( largest one ) in the middle, part of the panama on the left and the blue hazy99 on the rigth

picture.php

left side, sam the skunkman freebies in the middle ( largest one ) part of rhe panama on the rigth and one more blue hazy99 on the left.

picture.php

detail of the panama , the most affected.

I was keeping the ladys short of N to restrain the stretch somehow, but after the flush( not been feeding for 2 weeks due the fermeted fert issue) i have a shortage of N in the sub that i have to deal with, resuming the feeding from next time i give water .

The stretch have started, the mextiza and the sam's freebie have stretched most, keep you updated on the progres, hopefully they will recover after i start feeding them again.

Peace S

They'll take a hit in the yield department from the alcohol, but being they are long flowering you have time for them to recover and still produce a good product. What are the destroyers looking like?
