@SMOKEYTHEBEAR ~
Do you put out freshly rooted clones in mid July?
I was thinking of putting out 50 freshly rooted cuts as an end of season SOG.
Think they would go right into flowering mode if I put them out Aug 1st?

I've seen clones put out mid-August yield quite well at 42*.
Go for it. Something is better than nothing.
Here are a couple TW at six weeks flower that went out mid August...and why I say go for it.
Pics were taken a little bit past the middle of October and they were done by Halloween.

Very nice IeatCubes.
Did they get any frost bite on the flowers or did they shrug off the cold night temps?

48 deg N. I put my 2 seedlings OD the 1st week in July, a Power Skunk and a BCN Diesel. I've got them fenced in pretty good with poultry wire and spread moth balls around the perimeter. They are planted a good distance away from where I live and I haven't been able to visit the site since I planted them but I'm going to make a run next weekend to see how they're doing.

I am all for putting clones out at this time of year and just took a bunch of cuttings that i intend to go SOG with. I am at 45 degrees north and frost is a risk after mid september but most strains will take a few frosts and as long as they are harvested by early october things work out fine.
As for flowering and stretching nearly all the plants i have out have started flowering exept for some late started Great White Shark crosses, Dead head and Blue Kush but i had planned on finishing those under plastic this fall anyway. I am not in the northeast but at a similar latitude in eastern ontario so hope you don't mind me chiming in
As an aside when does Northern Lights #5 finish for folks in your part of the world?

OD's 2013.....

OD's 2013.....

Heres my 2 OD Critical+'s that got ravaged by hungry rabbits. LOL
All the bottoms are gone but I still got all the tops. It was still dark this a.m so I adjusted the brightness on the darkest pic of both plants.
I will be taking cuts this weekend to root for a quick SOG OD's.

Yeah, concerned they could be spotted. Just out measuring them, 5' and sky's seemingly the limit.
You can always do this............ it works real good at keeping a low profile. besides tieing them down as far as you can I don't worry about bending them too far. I cut Y branches out of tree's for support. Some of these are making the transition now and stretching some. These pics are about two weeks old.

The plants go out mid july and always end up at least 4 feet tall each. No need to put them out any earlier than the 1st of july. Unless, you like wasting your time and effort or if it's legal to grow where you live.

No. I start the clones in the beginning of June and let them root then veg for a month inside. They are usually about 1 ft tall by the time I put them out in July.

No to the second question as well. The photo period outside shouldn't kick them into flowering until mid august. they should get enough growth if put out by the 1st of august. Mid august, i would say is too late.

The temps dipped down below freezing a few times but not consecutively. They got a lot of sun so any frosting quickly dried. I like to clean the plants out frequently to avoid mold and allow airflow through-out the canopy just in case; no matter how wet or dry the season is.
I don't think rain/light frost is much of an issue as long as you're keeping up with the regular 'maintenance' and opening up those flower sites.

MLI outdoors?! Yessssssss. :woohoo:
That makes me very happy hearing that. I had a run with some MLI outdoors once before and will never forget the smell/taste. I love MLI no matter what but there's just something about the outdoors that really brings out the best in any strain.

Good luck with your girls!

Even after rabbits ate 1/2 of both Crits', from the bottom up, Ill still get 4 -6 zippers apiece.
I noticed 1 white fly on a leaf so Im spraying them with a Neem based, organic spray today before they develop real flowers ~

Heres the Crits just starting to get flowers. I sprayed them with Safers Soap based bug spray just in time.
They only get spotty sunshine all day so I hope they dont get budrot, pm, or fluffy buds. Plus they have been rootbound for 6 weeks already and they have 2 months to go being rootbound while flowering. Nothing I could do about it. This is a tester spot to see if they can even be done out there, or not be ripped ~
