Wanted to ask about your sump pump for tea...is it a diaphragm pump, if so what brand. Centrifugal pumps tear apart the micro life. And I haven't researched enough yet to find a diaphragm sump pump so if u can help me I'd certainly appreciate it! I have a flotec brand one but never use it because I'm sure it's centrifugal but maybe I'm wrong.

I'm curious about that blue widow as well...my buddy made a blue widow strain but only a few were given out, just wondering if it's the same one. His was New York blueberry male crossed with green crack and that was crossed with a white widow female...however it almost never will get blue so I've been calling it widows crack...anyway, just curious.

Thanks for the kind words sungrown. I am using a 1hp centrifugal sump pump. And as far as I can tell the only damage it does is to fungal hyphae and that is even limited. At a seminar recently, I asked Elaine Ingham if she had any data about pumps damaging microbial life in AACT; she said that's he had only done qualitative tests on compost tea brewed with a centrifugal pump in the reservoir for mixing once somewhere, I don't remember where. And she said that the pumps they used were cycling the entire tea through the pump once every 5 minutes and her data suggested that they were losing about 15% of the microbes In a 24 hour period. Rather than build a different type of compost tea brewer these people just decided to apply it more often. My thought is that if only 15% is lost after going through a pump over and over 288 times in a day, their is probably only negligible damage with only one pass through a pump. Though I honestly have no idea. If I had more time I would experiment with it and see what there is to see under a microscope.

Honestly though, I haven't been making compost tea since the plants were tiny, I make lots of compost extracts instead and will feed the microbes stuff in soil drenches from time to time. And periodically make a "proazoa tea" by bubbling compost extract with no food in it for ~72 hours. Or bubble grasses like straw or hay for about the same time.

I wish I knew more about the blue widow, I got a cut with no information on it other than supposed cross of blueberry and white widow. Similar structure to blue dream, pretty blue and purple buds, smells and tastes great, plenty stony for average smoker, not good enough for most growers I know. It's good bud to sell not to keep.

Thanks for the info, guess I'll fire up my 300 gallon tank today with the flotec sump and see, but yeah, 15% loss is nothing overall.

Sounds like the same blue widow and looks the same except I don't get enough blue with it to call it blue, so I'm gonna still call the one we have widows crack...lots of people making seeds though so it very well may not be the same. I'll have to ask the few guys I gave seeds and cuts to to see if they passed any out. It sucks when lineage info isn't kept with the strains...drives me nuts actually!

How big was your plot for each plant in sq ft? And how deep if I may ask?

they varied. I used holes that were here when i moved in cuz i didnt have capital to do what i wanted to. I am quite happy with the results so far too. I would say most of the holes had 3 or so yards of dirt in them some of them more some of them less. most were 6-8 feet across, and probably 3 or so feet deep but they vary. The biggest issue is that they are way too close together. some centers are like only 7 feet apart. I would prefer 15 or more feet.

Fun times on the farm. Tallest is nearing 11ft and widest is about 10 ft wide. I am happy. Also Milkymustache is back from her hiatus. Makes life easier. Hortonova week this week, I should have done it a while ago but i didn't. Maybe too many dabs.

Nice grow man, looks like a nice variety of strains you've got. I'd like to see a macro/overall shot of all the plants grow area if you can take one.
