Let's See Your Seed Stash

I've spent 20+ years collecting vinyl records, huge grunge boy when I was a kid, which has lead to me spending large amounts of money on records that either get played once and sit on a shelf, or if there too rare get put in a metal box and stored away. Sometimes I would question myself for spending so much money on a bit of plastic, but once its yours its YOURS!!
I have a few packs of seeds and if I had the funds I would definitely want a collection like FOE20, very impressive. As for the snipers, campers and auction bidders, you guys are crazy with your seed need. I like watching those auctions but man give me a colored 7" of vinyl any day over £200 for 10 seeds.

You should try getting into making sample based beat production ala Pete Rock, 9th Wonder, Exile... I would probably lose my head peeking into your collection!

i just don't get .... hoarding beans.... It kills me too think of all the genetic "could be's"...in everyone of those little packages....
drives me nuts to think they just sit and collect dust...too never see the light o day... as they where meant too....

I just can't fathom.... never letting the seed do ... what seeds do...

seems like torture to me....besides it wracks my mind...
to always wonder about "those beans".....

to much "what IF".... for my blood

Yeah... that's why I'm done for now, and focusing on getting them popped instead. I'm running seeds for the first time now, my first pack, Paradise Whiteberry. I'm hoping to pop a pack every month or two.

Friend had a good collection of oldies , kept getting them out to show people and refridgeing so many times that nothing now pops.

Worse case , they were of unknown low viability when purchased and after a decade of proper storage are now dead , or a couple of males if you are lucky.

Remember our local crime protection officer saying dont hide valuables or cash in a fridge , as burglars will certainly look there checking cans for the fake ones sold as stash boxes.

Well in my case more than 90% of those seeds are made by myself. For the moment there's only about 15 bought strains in there.
It's just impossible for me to grow out all of them. But I'm not going to throw them away because of that, so they pile up. I give away most of them too.

I sort of get what you mean though. But if you'd follow your logic every single seed produced should be germed? Don't forget only a single plant can yield thousands of seeds. There's just not enough growers around.

not much point in wasting your time wondering about "what if" questions imo.

I use one of those Italian snaplock jars with a rubber seal. The bottom has about an inch of rice and I store it in a mini fridge. Clear glass, so I can see all my seeds. The jar is packed to the brim with breeder packs and little baggies of my own seeds. I'm definitely not buying anymore seeds for a while!

hey hey Swampdankers... I have some good F13's I'll send them in for the server fund for folks...Im not a huge F13 fan as its a bit to floral for me..but Ive grown its and doc'd it and its a stunning plant..very hash worthy IME...

I didnt try and collect all what I have tho...think i started on bag seed in the mid to late 80s like anyone...their just not online..
other then that I gift away a ton of seeds and weird part is..Karma brings it back 2-3 fold...
folks ask if they can have something for this or that pain or need...I give them hybs or breeder pks or what really suits them for their needs...its not a name game or $$ thing..
Its not a collection for looks..its for genetic MED hunting...
but the folks I give them to somehow send me back even more?...heh....
so truly Im not tryin at all...
and if you watch the server fund I donate for the cause and that reason...I dont want the stock gettin older either so send in or run whatever I can and pass whats I can to...alot is older breeder pks far as those go..most is priv work by others..and a handful of my own..and it is well inventoried and updated..
gypsy;s fridge was way nicer tho...

Cep..thats bout as good as it gets right there....bravo...

I also collect old mags and have posted in the historical thread a few times......and love vinyl, reel2reel and old school analog!..keep rollin

Svalbard global seed vault. Yea boi, they better have cannabis in there.

For real though:
10 Sunshine Daydream (Bodhi)
6 Snow Queen (Bodhi)
10 Grape 13 (Hazeman)
10 White Grapes (Hazeman)
30 Herijuana (******s)
10 Tahoe OG (Cali Conn)
10 Jamaican D (Cali Conn)
10 Jedi Kush (Cali Conn)
10 Warlock (Magus, old stock)
20 Peyote Purple (Cannabiogen)
20 4 Corners (Rare Dankness)
10 Lee Roy (Rare Dankness)
10 Apollo 11 (Joey Weed)
10 Mr. Majestic (Gage Green)
10 Satori (Mandala)
10 Sour Bubble (BOG)
10 Biodiesel (303)

I'm scared to pop those Tahoe's due to hermi issues with Cali Connection seeds, also the Mr. Majestic can show hermis as Gage warns, but damn they look good. I feel like we're a bunch of women talking about our shoe collections.

I keep mine in plastic baggies in a jar in a fridge. They jar has desiccant beads in it. I have several homemade F2's and crosses. I also have a few breeder packs. I feel like I have enough seeds to last me for several years. Hopefully they will store well.

I've collected thousands of beans over the years. I have a seed stash that dates back from 1973 Santa Marta Columbian Gold to the stuff on seed bay today. Have a lot of stock from the 90's as well. Easily 20,000 seeds minimum. I'm not sure why people keep their big seed stashes in the fridge but I keep mine in the Freezer and am still germinating seeds as back as 1998 with good success. I always kept these in the freezer in air sealed Ball jars with a layer of rice inside.

I know this thread is a year old but I gotta send some love to everyones sick collections!

Anyone like the concept of a jurassic park cryo can style idea which could house 8, 16, 32, or 64 1.2mL micro centrifuge conical jars? Been working on it for a couple nights now and wondering if anyone else has had this idea or thought?

Much love again for everyone whos been enjoying mandala's genetics from the mid 2000s. Some quality beans right there. Also since a lot's changed in the last year and change has anyone stateside got any Colorado, Calif or Oregon/Washington breeders since this thread started? Any good info bad? I'm talking new like Centennial out of CO. and other companies like Humboldt S.O. and the Cali Connection. Or even some newer breeders/seedbanks up north in Canada?

Again thanks to everyone for their input especially liked the arctic seed vault good shit haha

wish ICMag would do a new seed issue in there online pdf magazine gathering all the collections like this and showing ppl what works the best over the long run. 40,41,42 degrees Fahrenheit [5-6 degrees C] sound about right with 0%-5% relative humidity in the container? Any info on if desiccant in direct contact with seeds causes problems with germ rates?

enough of my year late + rant

high and thankful that people here know there shit and aren't worried to help

peace and love

that being said i could make a log of whats in each jar

That's what I do. Also have a pack or two of silica gel in each jar to ensure they keep dry.

IMO, although the OP's collection looks cool, plastic/leather does not keep moisture out. Kilner jars (although not as cool to look at) will keep seeds dry for decades.
