Chaos Chronicles - RedEyed Genetics Test Grow

First off, I want to thank Red for this opportunity. This will be a journal for all Red Eyed Genetics strains I run.

Room: Tents :) I am currently borrowing a 3.5x3.5 from a buddy, and a 2x4x5 is on the way.
Lights: LEDs baby. I'm starting off with my generation 1 126w LED panel with 1w diodes. This is an original Hydro Grow LED panel (I know the backstory - the lights paid for themselves first run and thats what was important to me). I have 2 of these panels and I'm working on getting a 540w Bysen panel through a buddy before I transition to flower. for the 2x4x5 tent I purchased a 8 bulb T5 fixture.
Medium: 100% coco
Pots: 2gallon fabric pots
Nutrients: Rezdawg's 6/9 General Hyroponics with boosters in bloom. blackstrap molasses will be added occasionally.
PH Pen: BlueLab for the win - screw hanna!!!
R/O water mixed with tap - I finally live somewhere that the tap supplies under 100ppm.

Starting Genetics:

PHD: 3:3 germinated
Harlequin x White Lotus - I had the pleasure of working with this Harlequin cut during veg at a buddies place after I acquired it from Tony Green Hand. Unfortunately due to my buddy getting mites it being his first grow he cut his losses and chopped her along with the clones we suspect brought the borg to him. During the time I did work with her she saw her share of ups and downs and she just kept coming back for more. Handled LST and topping very well, super thick stems that I snapped a few of for her to recover quickly from. I'm looking forward to this line. Red, I need more of these seeds! 3 was not enough :)

Grape Plague 7:8 but one took till yesterday to pop. Mind you these seeds came right off the branch, sat on my desk for a few days while I got propagation supplies.
Purple Urkle (demo cut) x White Lotus *as of 07/02/13 the Red Eyed Genetics team is verifying Demo's cut against a verified Purple Urkle so this strain is on hold - I may be the only one growing this cross for a bit - don't think Red got any of these testers out before putting it on hold while
I was graced by the ganja gods and when I was over for a visit and Red asked if I'd like to take down a branch off the Purple Urkle in the tent next to me. This was after he showed me through all the strains he'd crossed with the White Lotus stud. The growth of this beast is super uniform and the smell, I kid you not reminded me of my childhood days and fucking grape koolaid. I'm excited to have the first testers growing of Grape Plague (still verifying the purple urkle cut). I'm excited to see how the White Lotus stud comes out in this cross, with what I saw from the PU cut, all we can see is improvement and wow that cut in full flower is just gorgeous.

Due to a number of errors on my part from being busy and just not taking time I've decided to can this grow. I checked plants on 7/4 and had some eggs. I transplanted to 2gal smart pots sunday and also forgot to rinse the coco, after watering I checked ppm's of the runoff and my meter topped out at 2k ppm. Screamed obscenities like no other, walked out and talked to the wife who said just chop and get out of town for a few days to get your shit together. (such a lucky guy). So the tents have been cleared out. tomorrow they get their first wash down, I'll hit them again on sunday when I get home and probably do a pyrethrum bomb in the room I'm growing in. This house is the first house I did not bug when we moved in :(

As I'm going to be working on projects with Red Eyed Genetics this log will get filled with what I am working on in the group. Talking with Red today we'll probably get some cuts going and I'm going to continue working the Grape Plague line for now. I'm going to try and run the Purple Urkle and Grape Plague side by side :D

Stay Tuned!!! Lots coming from in 2013 from Red Eyed Genetics.

Shit happens, no discouragement here :)

I got back from a quick trip to the peninsula last sunday before work and I've been getting other projects wrapped up this last week. I ran my first bubble hash runs these last 2 weeks and this week I'll be making my bubble hash capsules.

Friday I picked up a ton of cuts, just waiting for them to root now then I'll post some new pictures

Thanks for stopping by both TGH and Able Mind.

Little update, I pulled a few clones out of the dome today and transplanted into pro-mix hp. I also got a 4x8 tent, 8in fan and filter ordered along with a bluelab truncheon ppm/ec meter.

Next up on the list is a new camera. I've been eyballing a few DSLR's but the wife said I've already spent enough for now so I have to find a cheap point and shoot that she'll get in a few months when I'm able to upgrade. Right now I'm looking at the Panasonic Lumix ZS25. I know I won't get killer macro's with it but it should produce better shots than my iphone....

The plan is to pop some Mt. Rainer (NL#5 x White Lotus) and grow them out side by side with the NL#5 so we can get a visual of some of the growth characteristics side by side with its mom :)

Stay Tuned, we're about to start having some fun.

Got my Mt. Rainer seeds today, off to the grow shop tomorrow for some more 4in pots and another starter tray. I gotta transplant some more cuttings that are rooting. Things are coming together. Next week is gonna be a busy week getting the room all re-arranged for the larger tent. Still undecided on lighting. I've got money to a buddy who is getting me a new LED panel or 2. originally we were going Bysen but now we're looking at Apache Tech and Area 51. I also have the ability to borrow 2 600w with cooled hoods. So many options which is good as I'm in a rental. We'll see where the heat takes me.....

Till next time.

Here's a rundown of what's in the tent right now.

In the tray on the right we have NL#5

attachment.php

In the center tray we have: Casey Jones, Afghan Bullrider, Galladriel, Demo's Urkle

In the tray on the left we have: Shiskaberry, Cali-O, Harlequin, Cannatonic and Mendo Purps.

Veg tent

I checked the Mt. Rainier seeds tonight, most have sunk to the bottom of the jar so I'm gonna go mix up some CloneX Seedling and cutting mix and pre-soak the rapid rooters and plant seeds tonight. I see a taproot on at least one bean so far. I generally only wait till they sink then plant.

Mt. Rainier Seedlings - Day 8

Mt. Rainier Seedlings - Day 8

Sorry for the lack of updates this last week. Not only are we in the slow part I spent a good deal of last week in the ER with my wife so things had to wait to be transplanted from the starter tray. I also had some cuts that were waiting to be picked up that were taking the slot for these seedlings.

Tonight I finally had time and space in the tent to transplant the Mt. Rainier seeds into cups where they will live for a few weeks before clones are taken and these go into flower to be sexed.

Out of 24 seeds I have 3 that I've deemed the runts. They will stay until I run out of space unless they make a 180 for the better and outdo one of the others.

I'm using Pro-Mix HP, after transplant they were given 5.8ph water with CloneX solution until runoff.

Mt Rainier - 3wks from breaking ground

Mt Rainier - 3wks from breaking ground

Things are going great with the Mt. Rainier tester round. The seedlings are all on their 3rd/4th nodes. and are all showing phenomenal growth. I'm getting really excited for this strain.

New Bubble Machine arrived

New Bubble Machine arrived

My new and first mini bubble washing machine arrived today. Once I get off work tonight I'm gonna run some bleach water through it a few times and then tomorrow night its getting put to use. A buddy of mine gave me just shy of a lb of trim/popcorn nugs to run for him.
