First off, I had to laugh cuz your name is baddog and your dealin with bad dogs.

Anyway, I had the exact same thing happen to me. I didn't have time to post on IC about it though, soon as the dogs broke one board I went and hollered at the owner. Respectful but firm, look man, I got kids that be in my yard and I don't take no chances with my kids, your dogs breakin through the fence. I almost shot him but my family wasn't in no real danger at the time so I figured I come let you know so you could do something about it. Dude asked me what I suggest, I told him get some plywood and nail it up along the fence. I had like 2 pieces in my backyard I wasn't using so I used them on my side in the most dangerous spots. Dude didn't have any transportation so I offered to take him to home depot in my truck to get 4 more pieces, he nailed um up and the problem was solved.

Sometimes you gotta communicate man, 95% of altercations are from lack of communication.

I got a pitbull, its one of the nicest dogs I ever owned, big scary lookin thing but the nicest dog you'd ever meet.

If you really don't want to TALK to your neibors Id suggest going and getting some plywood (its pretty cheap) and lining your fence with it yourself. Don't let pride get in the way of your familys safety.

good advice ;) :bump: :smokeit: :kos: :pimp3:

Funny how people that keep telling me I'm ignorant to the breed are the same ones that are telling me its my responsibility to keep someone elses dog off my property and that I should be minding my own business. So do you actually tell your neighbors its their problem and to build a new fence and mind their own business cause you can't control your dog? How old are you?

Wow, you're dense.
Yes, If you don't want to be attacked by your neighbors dog it sure the hell is.

lol.. how old am I?
Old enough to know that my life and the life of the ones I care for most certainly are my responsibility.

You can go to war with your shitty neighbors, or drag it out with the city in a civil suit, think up of ways to torture/kill the animal if you'd like.
Or.. you can take responsibility to fixing your fence for the safety/life of your kids. For fucks sake..How old are you?

Start the civil process if necessary for resolution or compensation, but fixing/reinforcing your fence is the necessary thing to do. Do it!... if the neighbors wont pay for it. Handle it yourself and seek compensation later. Document everything.

PS - I'm in my late 20s if you must.. and if this was my problem it'd be handled already. I wouldnt be asking around on the internet as to handle this situation. I'm not going to let a few hundred dollars in lumber and some jackass neighbors put my family at risk while I bitch and moan about my shitty neighbors and how dangerous pit-bulls are (some are, some are not).

The gov/city/animal control aren't going to be there to help you when a vicious dog attacks your kids. Yea homie. It IS your responsibility. Certainly your neighbors aren't making it theirs. Thus, I'm going to do what I can do to remedy the situation. The other options are much farther from "your control" (see below).

Or.. do it your/others' way... yell at/threaten your shitty neighbors, as trash they'll ignore your request/demand to control their animal or fix your fence. You now have an low-life enemy near. Proceed to make a bunch of call to city depts/gov employees that lead to no where quick.. animal control, civil suit, etc, etc.. bunch of headache...more war... court..property line/fence responsibility.. $$..still not resolution, etc, etc. Get the point.

Some people are shitty.
Some dogs are vicious.
Lots of pitbulls are not.
Some neighbors are ignorant regardless of what side of the fence they live on.
Shitty people = shitty dogs.

Welcome to life... where it is most certainly your responsibility. Good luck with whatever approach you take. I'd rather not get emotional about the situation and take the obvious one. Make sure the neighbors mis-raised dog cannot under any circumstance enter my yard again.

Fences make good neighbors. You said it was your fence right?

Not fixing your fence in this situation is akin to not securing your house after a burglary..or not replacing your door after the pigs kick it in.... Just because you know who is at fault, doesn't mean that responsibility doesn't ultimately fall on yourself to correct the situation.

Say that "you've stopped taking your medication and have had some pretty clear revelations, one of which Amanda Bynes is going to move in with you and you are going to create your own universe with the esoteric witch craft you had developed in past lives."

*with the above fix the fence....

After the fence is fixed....... light up a fat one and smile knowing that your family is safe again.

I would think a show of friendship is called for here; offer to give the dogs a McMagnum sandwich if the dogs bust through the fence.

Mate, nobody is telling you that it should be your responsibility to fix the fence, but if these neighbours are as slack as they sound then you have to put your families safety above a point of principle.

If my kid set his bed on fire playing with matches, I'm not going to stand and wait for him to put the fucker out because he lit it.

i would spray a little bit of pepper spray around the fence when they arent out there. that should make them keep their distance without being overly cruel. i like dogs but mean ones suck. as sensitive as their noses are some leftover pepper spray would not be fun for them to be breathing up.

that's a pretty slick approach for sure.

that plus fixing the fence should help.

also liked the suggestion of going over there to meet the dogs.

peace and good luck

If I ruled the world, everyone caught involved in Dog fighting, would be forced to take part in some sort of Gladiatorial combat on pay per view.
The assholes gambling and watching would get boxing gloves and fight until someone is unconcious. The dog owners and abusers would have knife fights to the death. Scumbags, there is no excuse, and I've seen people trying to justify dog fighting on this site when the Vick case was going on. Frankly I'd like to string em up the spring pole they use , and let the dogs use them as a raggy toy.

Sorry I won't be kneeling. Since they replaced my hips this year, I can't get down or up. How about I just hand you a joint? :smoke:

New rule, concessionary joint passing will be permitted, for those unable to kneel (Subject to an assessment carried out by Atos, using descriptors devised by Unum Provident)

where do people get this stuff?

the first "toy" breeds originated 12,000 years ago in the middle east. these animals had no power, speed, size, aggression or tracking ability.
they were bred specifically to be companion animals for royalty.

the Pekingese has been bred for emperors of china for over 2000 years.
not trying to be rude but you are completely talking out of your ass...

Dude the wikipedia article said Buddha himself bred that dog! But whatever ya'll wanna say, defend a useless animal (And if your "Use" is security, then I beg you to argue your point on raising it docile...) I for one view all animal's as animal's, and would never wanna impose a life on them other then nature lol...
