i wonder how the vert trees stack up against vert scrog donuts like i do GPW wise. i like the idea of how you guys do it with the big trees. i know djm does 1k per tree above it and then i see clayton with the vert bulb style. no joke though, vert scrog is a TON of work and a TON of green produce ties from the store lol. some day i may entertain the idea of switching over and getting more lights and joining the big boys haha

hell yeah man. theres's too much fun shit to be doing in stead of bread twist tying 500 branches down thats why i wanna switch to trees.

any idea as to how long one would veg plants for if im doing single plant per 600w bulb. i think with 6's one would have to lollipop accordingly as to avoid salad underneath since the penetration isnt near as good as the 1k's. i have 4 600's but im gonna buy a couple 1k's and do it up proper on the next run too.

When I saw don juans he had super cropped the shit out of em. If you are going to hang the bulbs over top id do it just like hes done here.

as far as veg time...still haven't gotten my veg down yet with this set up. Some strains kickass, some strains don't like it..granted its something IM doing wrong but still....

i think the way he up pots is key...i went from rooted clone to the hugo blocks or the big mama...whatever the big ones are....should have went smaller first.

Guaranteed when growing big plants it`s best to learn WHEN to up pot BEFORE root spinning/rootbound conditions occur so the plants can move on up to the next level of being all they can be and keep spreadin their legs....but....

Not putting em in too big a container too soon with too much moisture is as important as well....

DJM`s got his bitches spread out like a mushroom and lollipopped underneath as the plant structure progresses where absolute optimal lumen penetration/plant absorption occurs in every bit of what he`s created with pruning and supercropping , so every bit of each plant underneath that 1 KW light can swell accordingly till end of cycle........

Pretty fuckin ingenious in my book.......Looks like he`s done this a time or 2...........I`m just sayin.....

A 12 week process from cut to nut ?......with different stage up potting in the process ?.......and then perpetual rotations that pull a crop once a month ?........My kinda shit..... but.....

It`s different with bare bulbs with more of a "sideways" canopy instead of overhead , so all setups need dialed accordingly......regardless...

figured i would put my rings up on the master thread lol. they are flushing now and coming down in ~12 days or so. should be a GPW record for me. still learning the new system but it went rather well i think

my next round i plant on following your "mother side" grow style. 9 plants 45-50 days veg and then flower under 4 1k's. i fear i will have to use air cooled hoods since its so damn hot here but then again by the time they are vegged and getting ready it may be a little cooler.

is air cooling with reflectors gonna hurt me any or should i try and go bare bulb if possible? everything is gonna be in a 10x10 tent and i have a CO2 tank system as well as a burner that i can run outside the tent and pull that air in if need be. i can also route the central ductwork directly into my tent in multiple spots and i think that will do pretty good.

DJM, could you elaborate on the pots? I've read this thread twice now, so I apologize if you've answered this before (I don't think so). Do you drill holes in the bottoms and let them run into trays? How many holes? Basically I'm interested in how and where these drain. Thanks!!! Amazing grow.

check out this stuff called Z7 , I grabbed it at a local hydro shop .. Im just on my first run with it , but I went from solo cups to 1 gals with fat roots out the bottom in 3days , and from the 1gals to 7gals with roots out the bottom in another 3days .. ive only seen positive results so far from the stuff .. just flipped the plants a few days ago

edit - it's less then a 1/4 the price of hygrozyme or rootsexcel , and so far blows them outta the water !

damn bro ! just read back thru the thread .. I'm diggn the 1plant per light ! I've done it on a few lights here and there , but not an entire room .. just moved and I'm in the process of building a dedicated veg room so I can utilize my max number of 24 blooming plants to their full potential ..

what do you think about "how many 1k's in the veg room vs 1k's in the bloom room?"

I want to keep the bloom room on 12/12 all the time , say I have a 16k bloom room , how many 1k's in the veg room would be required to keep on a 10 or 11 week harvest schedule ?

and what's the distance between your hoods in the bloom room , are you expecting each light to evenly cover a 5ft x 5ft area , or more or less ? curious how much utilization of crossrays your getting
