ok im just wondering.. in order to use barebulb vert..

what few tips can u give me to not have many problems during my first vert grow.. we should be moving into our new place by September.. so im already pre planning to go vert. I just want to make sure that I can use others mistakes as a learning experience so my first vert grow is a success..

Im at week 5 in flower in vert setup. I wish id arranged some kind of netting or cage to help support the buds, would also help keep them from growing into the light...
A cage around the fan like the vets do it..

I've never done vert, YET. but I have learned a whole lot from reading... if you have til september you can read a lot of info in that time...

most important things in vert.

1) ENVIRONMENT, dont SLACK! air exchange 2x per minute.
2) buds away from bulbs! if it takes trellis or cage like azad said then do it. I believe 6" away from bulb is minimum... I think...
3)small fan on floor helping push hot air up to the bigass exhaust fan...
4)taller ceilings the better... more bulbs able to be stacked... the better...
5) plant numbers dictate yields... bunch of tiny clones is better then 4 or so big ass trees... but if plant numbers are an issue... trees can work.

I am forgetting some shit probably... let the pros chime in now...

Sour covered most of the vert specific stuff . Look into orca, reflectix, or white paint (w/ titanium dioxide) for reflection. One of the ideas behind vert is to turn the room/grow area into a massive reflector. Either size your exhaust to exchange the entire volume of air in your room twice per minute, or you can go completely "sealed" with an a/c and co2 source. Honeywell makes the best fans for cooling bulbs (you'll find them in most vert growers threads. Sold at walmart and similar places). There are two sizes, a 10" and a 12 or 14" model. Get the bigger one, and put one under each bulb blowing up. Almost any fan can be rigged to do the job, but the Honeywell's have the best suited air pattern. Ceiling height is actually less of a concern with vert, due to not having the downward radiated heat from a reflector. It can be an advantage to have taller ceilings so you can stack bulbs, but isn't a necessary design rule. Being you have until September, spend some time reading in the vert forums. A good place to start is pressing the "ratings" button on the main vert page. This will put arrange all the threads by there star rating. Read all the 5 star threads, then the 4's and so on..... Should teach you everything you never knew you wanted to know about vert, and if you still have questions start a thread and ask away. We're a helpful bunch around here

like I said let the pros chime in...

best thing you can do is read like Mister_D and I have told you. If you have questions after that, like he said, they are very helpful!

the new place we are getting will make me go from a flower room shaped like an L long side is 8x10 small is 5x5.. the other flower room 5x5 .. and another 3x6 ..

to just the 8 x 10 5x5 L shaped room.. or i can put a wall up an make a 8 x10 and a 5x5 .. i figured the lights would work better if i kept it all 1 room ..

i just need to up my yield so i can afford the new place.

The fan that is put under the bare bulbs should be on the lowest setting it has. If the speed is to high it will bounce the hot air around the room and make the room hotter over all. The idea is to just gently move the air up to the cieling fan so it can be concentrated for removal. The overhead exhaust should be located as close to the center where the bulbs are hung and the floor fan is pushing the hot air to..

the thing being is since some shit happened.. I need to rebuy a ton of equipment. so I figured going barebulb vert will save me money on hoods.. and since I have 2 exhaust fans.. I figure ill buy 2 more.. id like to run 1000s.. but if 600w would be better im down to run the same or a little more wattage to get better coverage.. im going to need to get a 24000 btu window AC... a roll of pandafilm. 50-100 ft. I mite try a vert stadium . or a vert scrog.. iunno tho.. I kinda like the vertical parabolic hoods. but im not sure how im going to do this.. im just confused as to .. say I have a room that's 8x10x8 and a 5x5x8 in the shape of an L running say 3 1000s .. or 6 600s .. how much air flow am im going to need to get this bitch down to decent temps.. iunno im debating on just spending the extra cash on a environment controller instead of ME being the controller .. and having to use timers and shit. iuno I guess im just fuckin pissed that I need to buy all this new shit.. get a new place.. rebuy a bunch of nutes.. just because of a greedy fuck

My first grow was vert bulb with black plastic as walls. You don't need to get fancy when you are low on funds. Just get a grow done and then up grade. Many of the growers that post here have been growing for a bit and have the money for the upgrades. Vert is the cheap way to start.

For ventilation exchange the air two times per minute. If this does not keep your room cool increase it from there. Run the room at night to get the cool night time air.

Forget about the guy who screwed you. Look at it this way you are free to build the room the way you want now and he will lose the benifit of your skill at this room upgrade.

Read Read and then Read some more. Decide on what works best for you and focus on that. With a 5X5X8 room I can get 4-5 pounds from a doughnut with (2) 1000 watt bulbs stacked. My first run was 28 ounces with a single 1000 watt bulb. Your other 8X10X8 room may be good for a stadium or a doughnut, or a veg area.

Best of luck IC
