How many ways can you say I couldn't care less about that crap? After 30 years we aren't worrying about that kind of stuff. I love her and love taking care of her because of who she is and what she has accomplished in helping others. It's her turn and I am so thankful to the Deity that I can be there for her when she needs it. Namaste!

Okay, so the last few days have been different. I was in with Marilynn for chemo therapy and there is great news there! When she got ready to start her chemo her liver function was the sky-high 1400. After the first round the function test showed 200 and after the second round it shows a 138. So going into this (third) round of chemo she was looking good. She WALKED into chemo each day (that I know of - see below) and walked out. She was sick, but she went to work on Monday. After the second round she was bed-ridden for a week and I was taking care of her constantly.

Then God stepped in and threw us a curve!

Thursday afternoon after lunch my stomach pains got out of control and I grew nauseous and threw up. It was loaded with blood. I was in trouble. Marilynn cut short her chemo so she could take me to the hospital. Can you imagine that? So they admitted me Thursday afternoon and Friday they had done an EDG and found an ulcer the size of a dime had taken up residence in my stomach and had produced a broken vein that was sticking out of it and pumping blood, so they put a clamp on the whole works. I was in the hospital for 4 days and couldn't take care of Marilynn, but she was doing so-so and didn't need me. My son stepped up and jumped in and took good care of Marilynn and that was all good.

She has been sick, but...

Yesterday she had her first marijuana cookie and this morning she had her second one and they are kicking the shit out of the chemo nausea.

We are in tall cotton now, with sharp knives!

I'm okay now. Back to work and all that. Marilynn is home today. Too sick to go to work, but she will be under my thumb and I will make sure she gets plenty of hydration and rest. I think I will make her a mad lunch!

More when I get it! Thank you all so much for the kind words, prayers and vibes. It is working!

You've got to take care of yourself. Eat right. You know what to do. It's hard sometimes in the USA.

Man, I have this care thing down pat. Last night I made spaghetti sauce from scratch and served her a great dinner. Then we had some tarts from La Madeline for dessert. I have a whole week left before she starts Round 4 and I am going to use it to pack some fat on that skinny little butt!

We had our 29th anniversary on the 2nd of the month. I figured this might be our last together so I went out and laid out six grand on some DYNOMITE bracelets for her. Nice rocks (he went to Jared) and just the right amounts of gold and silver. She went ape shit over them. I knew she would. She is such a child sometimes! She was too sick to get me a present so we are going to get me a Microsoft Surface Pro at some point in the near future.

I spent the weekend putting in lush plants and shrubs for Mrs. MPD in our garden and it looks un-fricking-believably cool. I am not on the boards because we are sitting out in our garden all evening, every evening. No television, either. Unreal.

What a weekend! One of my sons came home and we did a big-assed barbecue on Friday evening and then on Saturday - the Beach! We went down to Galveston and parked our car on the beach and had a cookout under a nice tent that my son carries for all his tailgate parties. We stayed all afternoon and then cruised home at around 4:00 as Mrs. MPD was starting to fade fast. That's okay, we put her in the back seat of the rig and she was perfectly comfortable. Then on Sunday we loaded up and went to my other son's house for brunch! Great weekend!

We have Round 4 of chemo this week, so I will be - more or less - out of pocket for Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Don't despair! I will be all over this board with the latest update on Marilynn. I will have her munching marijuana cookies like a dope fiend in no time. LOLOL!

Thank you all for your continued kind words, prayers and thoughts. It all helps. Every single bit of it.

Well there was a scheduling SNAFU so we didn't do chemo this week. That's fine by me because I am pounding Mrs. MPD with high-calorie foods and snacks. I'd like her to put on another couple of pounds between now and the chemo on Wednesday.

My little girl has lost almost all of her hair (I can hear My Chemical Romance singing Cancer somewhere in the background. She was so depressed she went and got the doctor to authorize an anti-depressant (Lexapro). Her main complaint is that once all of her hair is gone she will be completely hideous and I will leave her in favor of greener pastures. How many times can you say that's bullshit before you are certified clinically insane? Women. Can't live with them, can't shoot 'em. j/k

So I have a lot of work waiting to get done and I should spend the day working on it, but I have phone calls scheduled so...

Take away the hairspray and warpaint and you will find that this is the primordial fear that ALL women face.

We are all very insecure at our core (think 'will he still love me tomorrow?').;)

So, make sure you buy her a wig - one of the synthetic wash 'n wear ones that look even better than real hair!:comfort:
