First F&D Rockwool table & overwatering issues(?)

I have two holes in my table one connected to pump and is flush with tray and the other has a tube set at the height I want the water level. I want the cycle to be longer than the amount of time it takes to get to desired height since as plants age that time will vary. The excess simply goes down the tube into res. Just make sure your pump won't over power the drain. Then when cycle is over it drains back through pump. If that's not how ur doing it i'm pretty sure your hydro store has the parts for a couple bucks to fix it.

Also, when I do ebb & flow I don't cover like that. They make a coco mat if you want the roots from bottom a bit more protected, but I don't think necessary.

And, about 5.6 is the suggested pH for RW. Keep it under 6.0 for sure tho. When I was in RW I liked Europonics .And I haven't dialed the Lucas so I use GH's new simple dtw feed chart along with 0.5 tsp/gal Botainacaire's Mg-Ca+ since i'm in coco right now.

How high are you flooding the tray?

You want the RW to wick the amount of water they need, when I ran RW F&D I only flooded the tray to about 1/4 the height of the RW cubes.

Are others doing this, flooding low and letting it wick, or any luck or need to flood to the top of the cube?

Seems like less oxygen to the cube to let it wick up and seems like more of a chance for salt buildup
Yes! Flood as high as you can while making sure the stem isn't gonna get flooded. It will draw O2 into the cube on the drain and will prevent salt build up. Using passive feeding methods (wicking) on a E&F table is a waste of an E&F table...
