kali mist hydro 2011....the summer stash!

helllo everyone thought id bite the bullet and post my first ever grow diary !!

this is my project for the summer 2011 !! i like goin to festivals and gigs come summer time so i man needs something special for such special occasisons !!

after alot of thought around christmas time i settled on the one and only kali mist !! it has cult status in my eyes and no doubt from the views of people in the knows its some of the very best sativa on the market !!!

anyway down to bissness i bought a full pack of seriouse kali for my christmas treat all 11 germed !!!........... i love quality there is something about mr nice and seriouse that just screams top notch !! anyway long story short 11 poped and 7 females i basicly started them on 12/12 from the second set of leaves as seedlings !!

they are now 40 days into 12/12 and id say they showed there first bud 25-30 days into that so for my money they have actually been on bud 10 -15 days proper

i will post pics of the 7 phenos 2 are more indica id say can tell coz buds and way way more advanced and stem is thicker and branchs stockyer

also there is one very strange one its actually grown naturaly with 2 stems and also has a crazy deformed leave ..... all other 6 are one stemed !! this one has 2 lol


will be intresting to see how the phenos behave !!

i will try and keep this dairy full !! nothing worse than when people start them and just disapear grrrrrrrrrrrrr lol

just a little shot of the gang !!! a 7 strong, mob handed, kick ass kali crew........... hopefully i can show just how easy it is for anyone to grow sativa's at home coz for me once you have had good sativa that indica stone is just never enough !!

pheno 2 aka K2 id say a perfect blance between the sativa and inida

pheno 6 aka K6 i stockyer plant thick stem inica leaning bud formation

pheno 1 aka K1 the mutant !!! the 2 stem's the mutant leave, the extra vigour this pheno seems to have really excites me !!

k1's double stem and mutant leaf ....... all naturaly ocuring no cuttings pruneing or anything !!..... all natural baby !!!

pheno 5 aka k5 .......... sativa leaning thinner more delecate plant the prettyest plant out of the 7 a real looker !!

pheno 7 aka K7 ..... another stocky strong plant with a mixed maybe more sativa leaning bud formation !!



pheno 4 aka K4 .... mr average somewere in the middle lets hope the smoke this pheno gives is alot more than average eh

now for the buds for me really there are 3 main examples !!!


the indica leaning pheno bud more akin to indica the plants are fatter stronger meaner !!!

the classic hydrid seems to be somewere in the middle there are several with this bud im guessin these is the classic kalimist but maybe some old pros could tell me otherwise !!


and the sativa leaning pheno's think there 2 of these one slighly more sativa so far behind the rest its plain to see these have the least indica if any !!!

I've seen your K4 pheno vegged for 3 months and it got huge! Could have been flowered a little longer though, the high was a little para...even at 80 days from the flip.

you've got some nice stash on the way. ive grown kali, a pure sativa. it was passed to me as a clone. at the time i was 100% indica so i really gave her fits with my feedings. but once dialed she was all i imagined, intense thick spicy smoke and a very trippy high, perfect for your shows!

ended up making seeds from her and grew those out too. all good stuff enjoy!

right ............ i feel like my diary up and running now i have some pic's

just a little recap on methods 's

basicly its a full pack of seriouse kali mist !! seeds were germanated usein the 2 plates toliet paper trick !! all 11 poped and soon as the first tinyest shoot apeared from the seed they were placed in rockwool cubes and in a prop for 3 to 4 days !!

once the first set of leaves proper ( not the first ones that sprout from seedlings ) apeared they were took out of the prop and given 2 or 3 days to grow there second leaves and to harden up !! then simply placed in the flower room as tiny seedlings with only 2 tiny leaves !!

sativas just seem to grow grow grow !! so what i do is bend them and tie them down!! you can see from the pics all are tied down and this is an importand part of growing sativa's you have to controlle height !! left to there own devices they will grow 6 or 7 foot even when doin what im doin, flowering strate from seed lol so i tie them down and keep them at a nice meter, maybe meter half wouldnt recomend tiein them to severly though, have to let it grow some !!! i just wait till they hit a meter ish naturaly and start the bending from there !!! the plants seem to respond well !!

and as far as growing media and nutes i treat them same as my other plants !!! its just basicly cut up rockwool slabs in a bucket lol with plastic sheetin coverin to keep moister in the bucket and room humidity down !! only difference is i dont give them the higher nute doe'es, i keep them on 1.6 1.7 ec maybe,, and starv them of any nutes for last 20 days to a month!! coz aparently this is how sats know its time to finish!! not so much by the light cycles, but more the lack of nuts in the soil/rockwool !!!

i hear all these horror storys about growing sats indoors, but for some reason i find it as easy as growin inida's almost !!! ........... famouse last words eh, i bet this grow turns out a nightmaire haha !!

Those look like their gonna turn out some sweet kali buds, nice stuff.

I was just curious as to why you prefer this method for your medium.

Is it that it just clearly works for you, isn't very expensive, doesn't create much waste, seems to be easy to manage with pests, or that it maintains an oxygen rich area for vigorous root growth?

Just curious cause I can't say I have seen it done quite like this before.

Would love it if you have a rich roots party to picture under that plastic - seems like all your plants are lovin' it

you sure can revegg her. so when i made seeds off her using g13haze male i ended up with an indica. rock hard and quick to finish with a great kali tast and mind bending high. though my kali was a lanky bitch i was able to beef her thru a hybrid.

yeah basicly what you said mate !!

its cheap ......... rockwool in meter slabs are a few doller's and i get 3 full bucket plants outa 2 slabs and add to this that you can use the rockwool in the bucket twice!! so thats for 2 batchs uncleaned unflushed anything .......... the value is unbeliveable !!!

its easyer ........ see with a bucket you dont have to worry about run off !! a resivour !! a nunt tank!! !! moss and algie in the feed nothing !!!! all you have to do is make sure you dont over feed say over feed its basicly impossible to do this with rockwool unless you filled it up with 11 liters or something and drown your plants coz obv there nowere for the feed to go all stays in bucket but you would have to be pretty stoned to do that lol ohh and forget to add its more flexible too you can pick the buckets up!! move them!!! position your plants as you like!! coz its all self contained !!

its faster ........ im sorry i dont wanna disagree with people of greater knowlage and skill but hydro always finishs faster !! always!!! iv done side by experiments with the same cutts and hydro faster and yileds a fair bit more to plus not havin growin time with the sats and even with normal inida/indica hybrids veg time is mininmal no pruneing or training time !! i used to add an extra 2 to 3 weeks on veg time for training muli heads, super cropin think its called but found that its not really most productive way, as you can get a hole other batch a year by missin them 2 to 3 extra weeks of veg time of each batch !!


cleaner ...... like you said no probs with pests , no moss !! no algie !!! no fungus !! i lift the plastic up and its totaly clean, rockwools the same clolour as when i cutt it up brand new !!

and also the plant number problem !!!!
anyone growin in none legalized countrys knows that plant numbers is a massive thing !!! could be the differnce between jail time and a slap on wrist !! and this way maximizes each plant you get the most each plant can give, coz each plant even close together has a nice footprint the bottom buds arnt crap there always gettin light !!

so you get more for less !!! less number of plants more bud per plant !!


dont get me wrong id love to do a 100 plant super crop canopy grow but i aint got the balls im afraid

k2....... the most indica pheno,,,, actually i think i have the sought after ' kali indica' pheno... least amount of stretch quickest flowering !! already have some brown hairs this will be first one finished !!!
