This just fucked up my day..... Couldn't watch past the first shot.... Poor fuckin dog..... Someone should send this to ceaser milan and get his opinion on whether the dog was actually a threat or not.... I'm gonna go drink till i forget that image......

exactly why i chose not to watch this... figured enough out from the posts about it, sounds terrible. we got several dogs around our shop.. and if shit were to ever go south, well lets just say ive thought about this scenario before, not fun.

Not going to watch it..I have a GSD and it will probably ruin my day

That said....There are lots of stupid dog owners out there..

Sadly there are also cops out there who believe they "are" the law, vs enforcing the "laws"...
big difference.

I call it small dick syndrome....

Bottom line, U want to antagonize cops, do whatever...leave your dog at home....

Dog's aren't people and cops will kill a dog IF it is presenting a threat....no brainer for them.

If you have ever seen the damage a large breed dog can do, you would not hesitate if you are put in the wrong situation. Buddy got 80 stitches to what was left of his face after a supposedly friendly dog tore into him..

I love my dog, but I also respect the damage they can do..It is the reason I own a GSD...she protects her family...she does her job, and should someone start beating on me...cop or not...she will attack...we are her pack, it is her job.

Damn I shouldn't smoke Black Domina in the morning...lol

Right or wrong, thats one fucking PIG that would be walking with a life long limp had that been me and my dog....as soon as he was close enough I would borke his fucking knee, doubt I would be able to do more after that, but the joy of watching this fuck limp in to my hearing would be enough..

Now, of course I would not put me or my dog in that kind of jeopardy if I could help it. Here in Florida LOTS of cops shoot first and ask questions later,...one last year shot a golder retriever fighting with another dog WHILE ON A LEASH ( not the dog it was fighting, it was not on a leash)....he got a away with it.

I pray that all of these animals (trigger happy fucks) get all they deserve.:ying:

Sorry but I can easily think of a lot more vicious violations of human rights than this.

Of course there are, I don't think anyone said in this thread that "this was a case human rights violation".

Nope, I did see some "humans" that needed to be "violated" though.

I suppose it's a matter of justice and sympathy/empathy that the OP (and most of the rest of us) is pointing out. And a growing problem here in the US.

Hello all,

Yeah, the dog owner phuqued up hard....the dog was extraneous to the filming since it appears that he must have gotten out of his car and brought the dog with him while filming...seems to me have been more trouble then its worth in the first pace to bring it.

Still if the dog was in the same vehicle with the windows down, it would have likely jumped anyway given the same general set of events.

And would have likely behaved as it did.

I would also point out the loyalty the dog showed huh? As was mentioned before...the dog is loyal to its family (or pack).

Lastly, I am wondering if any charges will be brought for violating his civil rights.

I also wonder if he was taunting the cops to a point where he could be charged with obstruction?

I didnt watch the video but read about it in the paper this morning . It said that the 3 officers had to be taken off the streets do to threats .

HAWTHORNE, CALIF. — Three police officers have been pulled from street duty for their safety in Southern California after a widely circulated video showed an officer fatally shooting a Rottweiler and drew numerous death threats.

Hawthorne police spokesman Lt. Scott Swain told the Daily Breeze ( http://bit.ly/14OwxK8) the decision is for the officers' safety after the uniformed officer shot the dog four times on Sunday.

A cellphone video that had more than 3.7 million views on YouTube by Thursday morning shows the dog, named Max, being shot after scrambling out of a car's back seat through a window and lunging at officers who had handcuffed its master.

Witnesses can be heard crying out in distress after watching the dog's grisly death.

The dog's owner, Leon Rosby, said police needlessly killed his dog. His lawyer, Michael Gulden, said Rosby's complaint will be added to an existing lawsuit Rosby has against police.

"I understand that people have been affected by this video. Anyone would be," Swain told the Breeze. "The police officers involved are affected by this incident and having to kill a dog.

"I don't understand how it translates into an eye for an eye: 'We are going to kill you and your family because of this incident,'" he said of the threats to the officers.

Chief Robert Fager has called for calm and urged people to be patient as police investigate the shooting, and also avoid information being circulated through social media because "fallacies are being perpetuated."

Officers in the field have been told to be vigilant against any possible retaliation.

"You'd like to believe that maybe some of the people are just venting, but then you've got to be realistic. There are crazy people out there," Swain said.

The Daily Breeze:

Three police officers appearing in a video in which one shoots and kills a dog as they arrested its owner in Hawthorne were pulled from street duty on Wednesday following numerous death threats against them and their families, police said.

The decision to assign the officers to duties within the station for their safety followed an inundation of threats over the telephone, on Facebook and in emails, Hawthorne police Lt. Scott Swain said.

“I understand that people have been affected by this video. Anyone would be,” Swain said. “The police officers involved are affected by this incident and having to kill a dog. I don’t understand how it translates into an eye for an eye. ‘We are going to kill you and your family because of this incident.’ Like in my case. I wasn’t even working that night.”

“There’s a lot of calls coming in where people are calling us names and dog killers,” Swain said. “They are entitled to their opinions and to make comments like that, but where you cross the line is when you make the threat against the safety of police officers and police officers’ family members.”

Most of the calls were from people offering opinions, but some threats deemed “valid” are under investigation by other law enforcement agencies, Swain said. Officers in the field have been told to be “extra vigilant.”

“There’s been death threats. You’d like to believe that maybe some of the people are just venting, but then you’ve got to be realistic — there are crazy people out there,” Swain said.

The dog was only a bit confused. If it were a small dog it would have looked cute.

Cop ordering the other to shoot while saying 'it's gonna bite', acted out of selfinflicted, misinterpreted fear, not out of wisdom.

No way he could be on the right side of right from his own conscience. I hope he just felt that.

This guy just made our youngest doughter cry. Can't be a good sign for him either. ^^

i remember when firefighters had to come to my house to carry my grandpa out to the ambulance and one of the dogs got out. he attacked one of the firemen with everything he had... the fireman defended himself by creating distance with his leg by kicking/making kicking motions at the dog ---- there was ZERO aggression on the fireman's part, he was only as threatening as he needed to be to not get bit. i saw this happen on our front porch and ran out there tackling my dog and throwing him over my shoulder like a sack of potatoes(i said GOD DAMNIT in really loud voice when i saw him attack the fireman and i have a deep voice so im sure i sounded pissed). when i was carrying the dog back into the house i heard the fireman say behind me, "please dont hurt him, he was only doing his job"

that fireman made a lasting impression on me

Dogs do what they see as their "job" to protect us (their owners). This rotty was much calmer than one of my dogs would have been.

LEO need to figure out some sort of non-lethal dog defense. After all if it were a K-9 killed by a civilian it would be considered assault on an officer or some shit.

My dogs should be considered civilians if theirs are considered officers...

ITs disgusting to see but somthing that is more common than some may think .Soo many incidents Not reported in the news or captured on video .

The camera phones an youtube has been agreat way to capture an expose these incidents but it doesnt seem like it stoppin them from happening .

There is no justification in the cops action they are trained an the first resort im sure is not to shoot .Its legal to flim the police in public an many have done this an exsposed many egotistic, low life, heartless, uneducated law enforcement that we have supoosedly protecting us .

You can get sick to your stomach looking at videos on youtube of unjust shootings ,beatings ,detainments .Its important to now your rights, but it doesnt mean they cannot/will not be violated as seen in the video .

@ Stoner4life's post. Thanks for sharing!

Great to see they got scared. I see it as a precursor to a good reason to tone them in.

Goading might be a strong word. He was standing there obviously filming, but he was a good 50 feet back from the cops, showing no physical threat. His dog was calm and reserved up to the point the cop started elbowing the guy in the back.

Its perfectly legal fr you to record police actions. More people should, because we damn well know that 90%+ of complaints against officers will be bullied down in the reception office before they get filed or there will be some kind of vendetta against you after that. If citizens don't stand up for their rights and force officers to at least pretend that they care about looking like they're doing their jobs right and legally, no one will help us.

Basically, what I saw, was a man standing up for the rights of citizens in the community and exercising his own constitutional rights. A couple tough-guy officers who didn't like what he was doing, an illegal detention without cause, an animal that was shot trying to protect its owner from being assaulted, and a 'trained' officer with some piss poor aim and/or nerves of jelly who couldn't even get a head shot on a dog at point blank range, causing it to suffer with 3 poorly placed shots (all from within 6ft or so), resulting in a suffering animal.

well what i saw was a man shouting provoking and as i said goading the police trying to act tough .................... hey if things would of went different , he would of got a slap on the wrist more than likely !! no harm done !!

he is the reason his dog is dead !! .......... hes stupid !! .............. he ignorant .............. and his dog payed the price !

simple facts is if a dog is about to attack you ............... you eliminate the threat

its about the rule of law isn't it ................... you can only shout down and insult and provoke the police so much . then there forced to act !!........... will of been a nothing charge of course public order offence ............

basically just to make a example !

but you play with fire ..................... your going to get burned!!

its not the polices fault its basicly just a very sad turn of events .............. he didnt check the windows were shut on his car !!

one mistake is all it takes though ................. bang !
