Basicly when you use blumats the node senses when the coco is drying up and then let it drip til it's moist again.. I don't think anyone have had problems with root rot

i think i may go a drip system with a timer so it will automatically drip for twice a day or once for like 2 hours and than shut off. also i could add more of a variaty for diffferent nutes with out worring.

i will prob have 2 large garbage cans for my res one for veg and one for flower. they will have a hole in the bottom of it so i can attach a hose to it for the drip system, also gravity would be on my side. would it be wise to get a run off tray and hook it up with a hose so all the run off goes into a bucket or even a run off tank (a 4x4 res) and than just empty it once in a while?

As for coco i may switch to that but ill have to think about it a little more.

also this way if i did need to take stuff down in 24 hours it would be simple.. just unhook the drip system put a ball valve on it and wheel them to my balcony, take down the tents, lights, filter and other stuff and stick it in my locker, and than either send my plants to my buddy or just throw them out... if they did ask i would say i just it to water my plants in the summer with the garbage cans

as for training my plants ill try and train them while they are in the veg tent as much as possible , maybe with tomato cages?

greenbeen, with a drip system you need to only drip for a few minutes...once you get runoff ie your feed solution coming out of the bottom your good, couple minutes not a couple hours,do some research on drip system they use a pump sending nutes to emitters, not gravity...you dont need a big res really you have to just calculate some variables and how much involvement you want...if you have 20 plants that need 2 quarts per plant for runoff thats 5 gallons per feed..if you dont wana be involved use a big res, if youre hands on like me you can use a smaller res, unless you have a seperate veg space u use the same res for flower and veg...variables like pot size, heat, times between feeds all play a part so you just have to set it up and dial it in...tomato cages are used for really big plants, read about tying, bending, supercropping.trellis scrogging, that kind of training

blumats, they aren't to expensive, I think $80 for a 12 pack kit, that's tubing and everything. I run a 4x4 and a 4x8 tent in a 10x11 room that's all I can really fit and still have room. i run 2600 k all together on 240 v on a 20 amp breaker no prob. if you can run 240 cuts your amps in half and can run twice as many lights. the fans and dehumidifiers make the most noise so like already said by others insulated duct, electronic ballasts so they don't hum

alright so i will prob do a drip system but use soil... (pro mix bh) as for how many plants ill have im thinking about 24 ish plants in flowering and maybe 6 in veg at a time...
im not sure if i can get the 240 v hooked up since i would prob need to tare down walls and re wire the place.
i was talking to my friend about drip systems so i got a better idea of how they all work, but i will still be useing garbage cans since they will keep mosture in better than a res.
ill prob use drip trays on all the plants for run off.
my lights will be 1500 w in flower with aircooled lighting and 500 w in veg with the bad boy t5 system. ballasts will all be didgital?i think thats the same as electronic correct me if im wrong. still not sure about the size of the room yet but i will find out soon

if you are running 2000 watts you will need to run a new breaker and wire anyways. the most you will get off a 120v is about 1600 watts or so safely. so as long as you have 2 breaker spots its all good. it saves you a little money runnin on 240 I got friends who use 110 and and half the power and there power bill jumped more than mine. and you can stick 25 2 gallon smart pots in that 4x4 and get an 1.5 oz per with only 2 weeks veg.

i run 2800 watts total in light then AC, fans, air/water pumps, dehumidifier, and have 1 20 amp 240v for lights, 1 15 amp 120v for AC, and another 20 amp 120v for everything else. better safe then sorry. and if you wire make sure you use 14 gauge for 15 amp, 12 gauge for 20 amp, and so on. the wire is were you get your fire if its wrong.

wow so i could get like 150 os in that small of space?if so i will be doing that for sure than.... is the 2 week veg time once the clones are transplanted?
as for wireing i will be running the 2 flower lights off one 20 amp breaker and the rest of the fans and lights off another one. i may not run a ac but i may it hasnt been to hot in this building yet, but i do have to wait to july to see what is in the place and how it is wired

ac is a must mine runs during the winter only when the lights are on and I vent my carbon filter through my ceiling to pull heat out. are you gonna run cool tubes or air cooled hoods, the lights make a ton of heat.

is that 1.5 per if your running 2000w? and woulnt that be like 2.3 p's? so you would be getting more than the ratio? im guessing you would need to be experenced with that way as well to get that out come... also if you did a 2000w in a 8x8 would you get the same yield if you did 100 plants in 2 gallon smart pots so be like 150 os every 2 months?

more light more yield. the farther the plants are from the light source the weaker the light. 1 light usually covers a 4x4 area pretty good. and I root clones in a clone machine then when I have 2-3 inch roots through them in 2 gallon smart pots for 2 weeks. I top once a few days before flower and it keeps my plants between 12-18 inch's tall at the end of flower with very little stretch no naked stalks.

I pull 25 down a month, it makes it easier to trim and maintain clones. when you start running big number you need multiple decent size mother plants. when I harvest every month it takes me and my girl 2-3, 12-14 hour days trimming. and you always gotta think about what you do with your wasted soil, coco, rockwool, ect. I got a friend who owens a store that lets me use his dumpster.

ok thats what i thought about like the light. i will prob be useing air pots and stick with pro mix bh and just have the automatic wating just hit it once a day, i toss all my garbage waste in to our apts garbage can but i make sure its just plant waste not identification in it or what not and i ussally though it in the next one to my general waste. i will do what you are doing with the topping and i may lolly pop befor a flower as well, i may veg each clone for three weeeks before i transver them to flowering with about 36 hours of darkness inbetween the transition as for lighting you think 2 750 watt hps would do the trick in a 8x8 if the are hung right in the middle? i was thinking either do 2 hps or 1 hps and 1 mh light cause i heard the mh produces more resion whats your opinion?

all the plants would be on a rotation schedual so hopefully every 2 weeks ill harvest about a p or so which i think it could be possible with my lighting, as long as i keep an eye on the ph thats were i have been fucking up on (well last harvest)

the one down fall of the rotational cycle i would like to do is for the last 2 weeks they would need a flush but since my system is only for flower and veg i would either have to hand water to flush them out or set up another pump just for the flushing..
is there any ideas out there to help my sistuation?

if you got an 8x8 i would run 4 600 watt or 4 1000 watt lights. and go from veg to flower none of that 36 hour dark stuff, all you will do is shock it. i wouldn't worry about a mh bulb in flower just use a good digilux or hortilux bulbs, they have high blue spectrum in there hps. i have a composter at my house i compost my non stinky leaves, and my family has a lot of land, i dump my root balls and spare trim through the woods. be careful toughing trash away triple bag that stuff in thick contractor trash bags so nobody will ever see whats inside.

i veg for two weeks and don't flush till my end flush. then i hand water to flush and add my flora kleen to my res and let it drink for 10 more days.

alright because of power and wireing i wouldnt be able to run 4 -600 watts or 4- 1000 watt and i cant re wire the place becuase its an apt and would just be a bitch to do.....
ill look into those bulbs that you suggested i think i may be useing the hortilux bulb right now because its good for flower and veg. and was like 100$ for one bulb and came in a pink box if that helps :p
i may end up having a composter on my balcony just for the fan leaves and stuff, as for bagging up waste i ussally tripple bag it because it seems like the stems love to poke through the bag :p
with the flora kleen do you use it with pure water or with a solution??
and thank you for all the help rocketman420 your helping alot :)

edit:
ok so looked at my watts and all that and if i have 2 - 20amps i would be fine with running 4 - 600 watt lights. i could only run 2 off each breaker with the inline fans and water pumps and veg light at the same time. (hope to god i have 2 -20 amps now :) ) would you think i would have to have another 6 inch fan to cool the other two lights or just use the exaust from the veg tent to cool down the lights? i think that may work... here is a break down

1st breaker:
2 -600watts, 1200 watts
3 water pumps for water system im saying 150 watt each but only on for 15 min a day each at different times,
2 inline 6' fans at 150 watts each
total : 1950 watts if everything was on constantly

2nd breaker:
2 -600 watt lights, -1200 watts
1 badboy t5 system- 560 watts
total: 1760 watts at once for 6 hours since veg is 18 hours and flower is 12/12

the 20 amp breaker at 80% is 1950 watts i do believe... does this look like a good set up for the elecricity ussage?
flower will be running at night to save money and veg during the day most likely

What would your parents do if they did find out what you're doing mate?

Also, are your measurements in feet or meters, 4 x 600w would surely not be right for either, far too much for feet and nowhere near enough for meters. I have 4 x 600w in a room 2.3m x 3m.
