The best $200 I have spent in a long time!
ImageUploadedByTapatalk1371193577.198218.jpg
The vac chamber with pressure gauge and all the fittings was 120, and a 3 cfm pump was 75. Total game changer!
Add to that a glass tube from the gf's shop at no charge.

And a master case of tane for 200, and I have the best fucking wax I have made, let alone seen...

The tube holds about 200 grams, and the best recorded yield was 26g from 145g, and I haven't weighed the largest pulls yet ;)
I had a fellow grower come by for some clones, and a unit of his Chem Sis for me to broker for him. He was very impressed with the wax, and took 5g for a friend who loves good concentrates. I will be taking some down the the local lab and have it tested so I can take it to the shops. It will cost a couple hundred bucks and a few grams, but I may have secured my friends trim as well, so it will be worth it.
I still haven't put the Blue Dream into flower, but it will happen tomorrow. I just need to hang the lights, and assemble the last 3 of 16 screens.
My girlfriends son will be helping me Saturday to finish transplanting, and maybe make some oil. My sons are too young to help, but her son is 20 and smokes with his mom, so I am not contributing to the delinquency of a minor lol...

I have a ridiculous tolerance as a daily smoker. If I don't rotate my strains, I don't get the relief I need. This wax on the other hand just obliterates me. The best part of doing oil dabs is that I don't get couch lock, in fact it has the opposite effect.
I had my remote site get over run by PM, but was able to salvage almost 3 ounces of wax :)
Here is some run with USD buds that had PM. I will be getting it tested, but it's common knowledge that solvent extractions are the only processing method to salvage PM or even bud rot...

Yo arm I don't mess around much with concentrates other than bubble.

Errr... what is that thing? And what does it do? And should I get one?

Nice! The vac it pro is dope, but I needed to have the interior rivets welding to achieve full vac. Some soapy water and a good eye will let you know if you need to do the same. Test is while the vac is running under a good light, it will barely leak so it's hard to see.

Now mine will hold 29.5 for 24+ hours vs ~2 hours before.

Very cool new toy arm. Definitely looking forward to a demo. Have you ever mixed wax and oil together? Curious because I've been looking into a way to "thicken" my oil for easier use in an electronic cigarette. As it is, the oil melts when in my pocket and gums up the contact between atomizer and battery. Doesn't affect functionality, but it bothers my ocd. I have considered using keif also, but purity is a concern going that route. At least without a lot of time spent cleaning the crystals. Thinking wax would be too melty also, but I've never carried any around to know. What are your thoughts here? Anyone else with input is welcome to share.

Can you explain a little clearer on tightening the seal? I have gotten as low as 29, and with low heat it's purged in about 2 hours. The vac it pro sits on an electric griddle maintaining temp with a laser thermometer. The product gets no hotter than 100 degrees.

I have only dabbled with the vape pens, but I do have experience with e-cigs.
In my experience, if your concentrates are in liquid form, then it's either unpurged, or mixed with something like glycerin.
What I have wanted to do is make an e-cig like juice that can be dripped into the cartridge. There are recipes using food grade glycerin that you can get at the drug store.

Arm- it's not the seal at the top, it's where the handles are welded to the pot. those rivets weren't perfect when i got mine, i noticed the smallest leak while under vac.

$30 at a local welding shop to fix it. but if you're happy with how it's working now, why fix what ain't *apparently* broke. :)

and i'm far from a wax guru or anything, but i'm not sure 100f would be enough to fully purge all the B out. i really wanna see/hear about the results if you end up getting some lab tested... i never did.

i'm running my last few pounds now and throwing away all my equipment... these manufacturing charges are no joke.

Mister_D- it's all about getting it stable at higher temps. the vacuum will let you achieve this... by vaccing under a higher temp (than room temp) the BHO will stay solid and not stick to your fingers... i've held a 30g slab in my fingers, in the sun, on a 100f day and it kept its original taffy/shatter consistency. i've left honeycomb wax closer to what Arm is making above in my car 120f+ and it doesn't change at all. stable stable stable.

The readings on the outside of the container reads 170, while the oil is at 100. I am going to run a few batches at slightly higher increments and document results.
Thanks for tip on the rivets, will check them out when I get home.

I've run everywhere from 90-140 degree purg under vac and 100-110 is my sweet spot. 140 started to get to sappy for my liking and 90 was to shattery to deal with, I didn't like having to heat up my dabber to scoop a dab. 100-110 is my favorite consistency. Definitely keep us updated on what you find out.

I agree so far that around 100-110 may be ideal. You get too warm and you start decarbing. I will shoot for 10 degree increments with 3 runs each and that should give enough of a sample size with about an oz total at each temp.

Got a ton of work done today, and will post updates tomorrow. Sometimes I severely underestimate what it takes to set up a room...
I did do light meter readings to determine my bulb spacing. The results were very informative, and at least now I now where my bulbs should be spaced. I will break it down tomorrow, but to sum it up; you can't get the bulbs close enough to get optimal overlap, unless you put the lower bulb upside down.
Have my largest run purging right now at slightly higher temps. Shooting for 110 as a finished temp this run.

Happy Fathers Day to all the fathers out there.
Taking the day off from the garden, but I did get the first two Blue Dream, and the two USD into Bravo.
