I didn't read the entire thread but I remember the SoCal Masterkush. I ran her side by side with 98bubba and they were identical. I believe I ditched the bubba in favor of the mk simply because the mom was a little healthier. I saw no difference in the finished product whatsoever.

Anybody else have experience with the SoCal aka Purple Masterkush?

i only grew 3 S1s out so far. two were very similar to the cut in smell and taste (far closer than any bubba cross ive had where the bubba funk always seems to be diluted)
the other one had an additional 'cheese' type terpene along with the bubba smell.

I just pulled down some of Immortal Flowers' Pre-98 Bubba Kush BX, one plant about 3 weeks and another 4 last week. Beautiful stuff, lots of crystals, very strong.

IMO Bubba Kush, SoCal Master Kush, and BOG's Sour Bubble are all very very similar in all respects.

So what happened to bubba in 98?

Policies changed in holland and breeders had to go smaller scale. Which led to breeders farming out seed making and losing genes as the had to downsize and all the bullshit hat goes with tighter regulations.

VG how do your bubbas yield? Ive got a bc bubba line thats very nice yielding ( pretty passive for a good pure kush imo) and I was curious if your yield was effected as you try to make ibl's ans s1's?

IMO Bubba Kush, SoCal Master Kush, and BOG's Sour Bubble are all very very similar in all respects.

Whatev bubba kushes genes are they are very dominant and true breeding. Most bubba crosses ive clearly show their bubba lineage

Purple Master is insane! One of the best strains Ive ever smoked... Never did source a real cut of it though...that cut is kept on Lock

From what I know...there are old timers that KNOW what Bubba Kush is, but they sure aren't telling. What I have been told and can verify, the mother of LA Confidential, was the same mother to Bubba Kush...fwiw...no clue on the male.

just a heads up to those who are interested, there should be a batch of pre-98 bubba S1s at the bay by now. they are to be listed this week, friday afaik

fair warning, this may be the last full batch of Bubba S1s that i can send from this big batch ive been working through. There are a few seeds left but it doesnt look that many. i do plan to make some more if i can but the existing ones are dwindling!
