Day 40.

Welcome to the show Soursmellfrog.

Things are still booming. Some of the bottom stuff yellowing out. Its from the lack of light. there is no shortage of nutrients available. Ill grab a shot of the mom & clones tomorrow.

Day 45 and things are going well in the armoire. The mom cab has the clones upa nd growing well. They are a little light green for my liking so i upped the veg nutrient. The bonsai mom was looking awesome. I had to trim her back considerably. the micro mom cab is working perfectly.

The bonsai mom can been seen on the right.
[...]
If you wondering the pot the mom is in is a 4 inch rose pot that was cut down to 4 inches tall.
do you mean the pot is 4x4x4 inches in size?
or 4 square inches in area?

In the near future i plan to run a dual blumat system in this cab. two runs of pipe connected to two different reservoirs. one straight water for the mom(s) and one reservoir supplying grow nutrients and added calcium to the coco plants.
could you explain in simple words how those blumats (will) work for you?

your 2 bushes just rock below that 250-watter. great job :good:
when do you intend to axe them?

peace! :smoke:

The rose pots are 4"x4"x8" roughly from the 'dro store. I cut it down to 4 inches tall making it 4"x4"x4". Sorry for being unclear!

The blumat system is a little more complicated to explain.

I plan to pipe two separate reservoirs into the bottom of the cabinet. I will make a quick paint drawing to illustrate what is going to happen.

One reservoir will be hooked up to the red supply line (Blumat White supply line tubing) and will carry fresh water to soil moms. The blumat emitter will be connected to the supply line with a Blumat emitter T that also available from the net.

The second small reservoir is going to be hooked up to the green supply line (Blumat Black supply line tubing) and used solely as the nutrient line. It will be used to water the coco plants so that I can always have clones available for the 250w HPS DTW at a minimum of effort.

A little backstory on how blumats work. So these things are basically a mechanical valve that works off hydrostatic pressure. the emitter itself is filled with water and at the bottom is a porous ceramic head. As the soil drys it wicks moisture from the ceramic head and this causes suction on the valve at the top. that pops open the emitter tube which is hooked to the supply lines and the reservoir. TL, DR? automated watering via mechanical means!

Hope This helps, Keep'em Green

Update to be done tonight

Day 60 Update

Day 60 Update

Day 60

I may have burn the tips a little with a recent nutrient dose. i backed off a bit this last addition and things are still looking good. I will take these to 70 days and then they get they get the chop. im interested in seeing what this setup will produce. i will be flushing the final 7 days with ph'd water.

I'll start the pictures with the mom cabinet. the bonsai mom got a trim tonight and the coco girls were given a nutrient dose. things are looking ok here. The constant hand watering sucks tho. i need to get the Blumat set up installed and tweeked.

it does help indeed! :thank you:

just one more Q: do the reservoirs need to be above the pots?
in such case doesn't all the water come down by gravity in one turn (instead of being dosed slowly, according to plants' requirements)?

and would it also work fine if you placed the res below the pots?

First off thanks for stopping in NKOTS and Artofmakingfire.

The reservoir has to be gravity fed ie above the emitter, unless your running it off house hold pressure (which can be done with pressure reducing fittings). Once the soil is moist again the valve shuts off. There are adjusters on top of the Blumat to adjust how dry the soil has to be before watering.

You can go on you tube and type in blumat and theres some pretty cool demos of how these things work.

Hope all is well on your side

Keep em green!

hazy, these buds look fantastic, pink rabbit thinks this will be a rewarding harvest, pal!

why do you think those fox tails are result of heat? any experience with such behaviour before?
we are currently having a discussion about this effect down in the rabbit burrow. feel free to add your 3 cents to the debate.

peace :smoke:
