Welcome! come on in and set a spell.

:tiphat: 1st off, thank you muchly, Redeyed. Im gonna do my best to showcase your hard work and dedication to bring some of the best PNW clones crossed to a proven winner, Ortega, to the masses.

I originally popped 8 of each NWT (Elephant x Ortega) and Beast Mode (Trinity x Ortega). Then I popped 1 more BM. Meant it to be a NWT, but oh well. So 6 NWT and 9 BM are reaching for the stars.

Didn't pop em all, yet, trying to stay compliant and all. This way I still have a few in case theres a disaster (bugs, hurricane, meteor slamming the earth - the usual). In all likeliness, Ill pop the others when I know Ill have the space for them.

My plan is to get 1 of each outdoors to compare with the indoor babes. Id do more outdoors, but they will have others keeping them company.

The 1st 8 BMs. Rrroll that beautiful bean footage!

Oops, didn't get a NWT shot.

Ive got... 'High' hopes.
Ive got, high hopes.

If y'all want a spec rundown, let me know and I will oblige. :thank you:

Whatever they've got to give me. Id really like to find ones that approximate the moms as well as a nice representation of the Ortega.

Ort is NL#5/NL#1 as I understand it. Mostly indica, so I don't expect any Mexi genes in there. Cant find much Elephant info - your guess is as good as mine. If theres any Mexican in these beans, I would think that the Trinity has the best chance at carrying them. The info Ive found for it says that its a sativa dom 3-way cross of Cali strains.

Maybe RedEye and crew can fill us both in on it. Good to see you again canna. :tiphat:

Hey wg! Great start to the journal so far. The origins of trinity are unknown, like so many other brand name clones. However, the info you can dig up, is the same info I was given. I have also heard that RKS is one of the original parents. Would make sense IMO, after growing and smoking her. She yields well, stacks until the last day, and has a very pronounced limey skunk-stank to her. Others that cant pick up the lime, say they get more of that potent wood glue smell, which a can also see. Very distinct terp profile. The Elephant cut I have is also somewhat of a mystery. I acquired this cut from the same source my BlackBerry Kush came from. I don't think either of us knew the cut made it into the flat with the others bc when I got home and realized I had it, I was quite surprised. The elephant cut that is roaming around these parts is very nice smoke and typically on the top shelves of clubs, when available. After growing her, its easy to see why she is closely guarded and respected. The yields on this plant are up there with the big girl heavy weights, finishes inside of 9 weeks, and is very generously coated in a gleaming coat of trichs. The smell on the dried meds was very hashy, piney, but not too over powering. The stone is heavy and long. Best used to sit back on the couch, watch some movies, take a nap, sitting on the beach with a cool beverage, classic slow down chill out, indica thump. Hope the info helps out a little bit. Any other questions feel free at any time

Limey-skunk or skunky glue, possible RKS genetics - ya, Im down. Ill take some piney hash any day! Right on brother! Some knockout power, just what an insomniac needs :D

very nice :). I have a NL dominant blueberry:NL that definitely reaks of lemon pine and she's as dainty and succulent as i have ever seen. Going to attempt to reveg her but if that doesnt work she's fully pollenated so...

Root aphids! Bastards jumped from my pantry to my closet. Super soaked everything with chems - except the seedlings. Don't want to kill them for certain. Havent seen any crawlies in their dirt yet.

Mosquito dunks added to the grocery list, better get some neem too.

If the seedings make it a couple more weeks, Ill cook up some dirt to plant them in after I rinse all the old dirt off their roots. Give them a few days to bounce back and then treat the dirt.

This is why I put 3 beans of each aside. Call it disaster preparedness. Need someplace to pop the other beans, get em growing - just in case.

You know sometimes when you just have to yell "FUCK!"? Yaaaa...

you don't seriously have root aphids? How can you identify them as such? I would spray them down with neem oil... I mean have you used neem? compared to neem extracts?

Its really my best guess based on their size, shape/build, habit when compared to what Ive read about them.

They were already in my pantry and managed to make it to my clone/seedling closet - on the other side of the house.

Dressing their tray with DE tonight. Ive already watered in neem oil and Bayer. Thinking of making a thin paste with the DE to inject into the root masses of the other plants. Its gonna get messy.

Yeahhhhhhh! wildgrow's back with another test run. Seedlings are growing pretty uniform so far mate but I was sorry to hear about the aphid issue.

Keep us posted on how the treatments work out, I'll be watching!

They haven't grown much and look pretty weak. Theyre getting treated like the rest but having a hard time with it. 2 have died. Im pretty sure that theyre just too young to cope.

I may just end up scraping everything in the closet and popping the remaining seeds. Ill lose everything I wanted to run again, but Ill get my grow back.

I just blows.

Hey dude, if they were in your pantry don't you think they could be fungus gnats? I mean it could be easier than dousing the seedlings with chems trying to kill the wrong insect. Fn can't really kill uopr plants but they can cause damp off...

They are definitely root aphids. Ive looked at dozens of pics of both in all cycles of life.

My pantry has no food in it, if that's what youre getting at. Its my flower room.

I haven't seen a critter in the closet for awhile now. I did decide to inject the root zones with a DE slurry, even the seedlings. Guess I cant really call them seedlings anymore. they have multiple leaf sets now.

I doubt Ive beat them, but they do seem to be in check. The various plants in there have started to grow again in the last few days.

Took a pic a few days ago. Ill get it up once I get it off the cam.

Appreciate it canna. Id hate to waste time treating for 1 thing while getting slaughtered by another.

I hope they are guys. Being the babies, theyre most susceptible to complete failure. Theyre in the smallest pots though, making them the easiest to treat.

Heres a couple of quickies. The NWT seem to be fairing better than the BM. Ill definitely be popping the other beans soon. I think some of the BM have suffered too much. Besides that all the plants still look the same.

Nice start to the grow and sorry to hear about the aphids. <knock on wood> I've gotten lucky so far for critters and such. Glad to see you aren't seeing them anymore, keep up the good fight!
