Girls are packing on the flowers now. Nice green growth still with no sign of yellowing anywhere. Nice cool, sweet-smelling res and they're drinking it up too! Topping up with fresh about 20-25L a day.

Hi Willyweed,
Yep, temps are rising and so the evolution of the loftie continues.
I just got some more ducting & stuff so I'm gonna do the final stage of upgrading.
1. The exhaust fan & can are going to the apex of the room with an almost straight vent into the chimney. (Where it should have been from the get-go).
2. The light cooling run will now have it's own almost straight run to the chimney.
3. The A/C unit will now vent through the old duct that the exhaust fan used & be more efficient. It shared the ducting for the lights, so neither were running at optimum.
4. Just bought a DD300 water chiller & maxijet 1000 to run it, so gotto install that later.
Once that lot is done, I will be doing the most possible with the kit I've got to control room temps but I know how hot it's gonna get in the summer, so the final upgrade would be a 15000btu A/C unit which would kick-ass in a small room like mine. (£460!!!!)
Just got to get this lot to harvest first.

A beanie hat ok dude?
The chiller's a beaut mate, 300W & really quiet. It's rated for 150 - 300 L res/tank, so at 100L it's just ticking over. The compressor doesn't kick in that often, so it's all good.
Just done a res change, so start of the 5th week and buds popping out everywhere!

funny thing is, water as a medium is 10x cheaper than the dirt if not more. buckets and air pumps are cheap as chips too.i used to grow dirt, it is can be more forgiving ,but i found it slower growing so switched to rockwool which is also a bit fickle to start with, but goes well, but not cheap to buy either. so water for me is the cheapest medium by far .i think i am being the cheap arse not you with ya dear soil me with my cheap water

Double update today;
Firstly, I just installed a much bigger air pump to a commercial one designed to run 14 aquariums in a shop. It kicks out 85L a minute! I'm only running 4 lines from it, so had to block 10 of them!!



Overkill? Possibly but look what it does to the res!!


Looks like Champagne!! It's all about the DO!!

So, the girls are getting fat!!



Wonder if I see an effect from the champagne?? Doubt it but the roots are gonna be dancing!

are you getting paid to advertise that voodoo juice .i wanted one of these pumps, does it turn down?
if not i am guessing by blocking the other holes it is forcing the air back down the other tubes? i have read ,one watt per gallon ,but think this was a smaller us gallon but either way thats a lot of bubbles.take care mate .willyweed

No, it doesn't have a volume control on it sadly. It still kicks out 85L p/m, whether it's through 4 or 14. I've got 3 more airstones but not much room in the res to put them!
