No big deal. Im sure its about to happen anyway. Regardless of how mad we are now not much is going to change, so i say we at least be glad we are all right for another almost 3 years and keep our eyes and ears open for what is to come in the next legislative session as well as learn about the loop hole defense. Something tells me they even expect things to change, because lets be honest the strain defense is not too well enforcable. They will run out of funds verifying that none of dispensaries have the strains of all those people who will claim just that. So they just threw it in there to seem like they've heard us, but in reality things are to definitely change in 2 years one way or the other, and we will just have to be ready thats all. I can personally say I will be better prepared and will know what to expect better next time, so hopefully will be easier :). I do feel terrible for all the new patients as they are getting screwed the worst, but we got what we got. Wouldn't have gotten anything if didnt raise all the fuss, so I just want to thank everyone here who spoke up, called, emailed and involved others. Its a bittersweet and small victory, but it is one nontheless. So thank you guys again!! And even if what has happened is an illusion of a democracy, I'd rather have that than nothing, because it means that our voices however small still matter. And its important especially in these crazy times when every day we feel like we are losing the fight against the big pockets.

New correct info--

The Governor has the bill. My friend just got this from Tick...It could take up to 10 days for him to either sign it or veto it.

Resin, I get your anger, but I just think its wiser to pick our battles. Considering that they threw this 2 year grandfathering bone to us from their priveleged men table many patients are happy. We just wont get enough voices, and that late in the process when nothing in the bill can be changed.. I can be very wrong, and lets hope I am, but this thing has so much traction and big money interest behind it and a "good cause" (medicine for the sick*, profits for the schools) that I don't think there is enough outrage in the world that is going to make him veto it. We can try, but Ill be honest with you, the way I see it its an exercise in futility. Just gonna have your nerves messed with for that much longer. And for what? I dont say do nothing. But we can grow now, and thats good. If no legalization ballot is to take place in 2014 we gotta start researching loopholes for real as well as petition whoever we will have to to change the law once again. Extend the grandfathering.. lift the ban.. whathave you. But for now I think we should just accept the reality and get back to growing. They dont deserve any more of our attention..

Besides, I like to follow it through. Never know. 1 voice brought attention to the fact that they weren't going to allow home grows and got things changed temporarily.

By what legal process? 1996 was 12 plants = class e?

Just asking because as of now there are no restrictions on cultivation in NV. There have been recent attempts to have penalties for growing and plant count graduations for levels of offense, but those didn't pass into law.

This bad bill cleared by more than 2/3rds in each house. I would love a veto, but understand that it is a politically unreasonable request to make of the Governor.

Time to regroup.

When asked about that Sen Hutchison said that they came up with the Class E felony during talks with law enforcement. Looks like whatever makes leo happy he's on board with. He also said they came up with the $250,000.00 provable liquid assets so that the middle class could get in on the dispensaries instead of just the rich, lol Motherfucker is seriously out of touch.

Thanx for the info resinryder.

Now from what I can tell, they are leaving in tact the Affirmative Defense section of the original bill, nrs453a, section 310 in effect. the new revision refers to it,. That section states that a patient can have more plants than the 12 if you doctor is willing to testify you have a need for more plus the extra weight.

getting an official NV card and being on there list doesn't seem to help anyway. I know several card holding ICmagers who were raided by NV pigs. Having an WA, OR, CA, or other rec or a rec from a NV dr. never registered seems to be the safe course.

That had to be a joke. No way he is dumb enough to think middle class people have 250k just laying around.

"There may be a $2 million unanticipated cost to the state in the bill to create a distribution system for medical marijuana in Nevada.
Gov. Brian Sandoval said Thursday that staff in the Legislature and in the state Taxation Department are looking at the bill to determine if there could be unexpected hit.
Senate Bill 374 would permit the opening of private dispensaries across the state to serve patients who have prescriptions from doctors to acquire marijuana to help in their treatments."

What and where is this magic $2mm? What the fuck are they talking about? There could be a thing and a stuff, and that thing or stuff may be $2mm? I am fucking lost, what did the reporter report?
