Got a question the chaco cut of sour is it an ibl pheno found or is it the sour clone its self ?reason why im asking is aj's sour is suppose to be THE SOUR but from the pics i seen ...and ive looked at them for endless hrs they do look a lot alike but deff not the same ,one has dnl one does not is my understanding i know growing conditions play a big factor in this but look at aj'sour then look at rez dogs sour clone pic in his gallery.. to me they do not look the same ..And if it was a hermi that made SOUR ..did dude grow out all his hermi beans or did he sell some and someone else found that pheno and how were some of the other pheno's cause they were all s1 so there has got to be more right ?.....I would love to run the aj's and rez dogs sour clone side by side to me there is gaps in this story.

Also why do some people refer to the aj sour as orginal diesel or headband ? That's where I get confused ..I've smoked orginal d or just "diesel" and it's REALLY similar to sour just doesn't have that sour taste ..just gas and fuel ..where as the sour I kno has the same properties but with a added sour taste ..this has been confusing me forever

ok first i want to apologize for not doing all my reading before i posted i just read the whole thread every comment every page 5hrs lmao and now i feel kinda dumb but the part about sour possibly having sisters and who found the sour would be cool to know i hope one day i can run her myself to see what shes all about until then im going to try and run jj's nyc sour and sour dawg and hope for a good sour pheno or maybe find the next great cut... i would also like to add this thread is epic and because of it when i do locate her i will have all i need to grow her right with the info in here and will be back to post my own pics and add to this historic thread

I'd ask them city fellers!!Honest to goodness, I have no idea which cut I have, I mean the only cut you can know for sure is the east coast Chem D because of the leaves.This far in it's anybodys guess what you might have.Whatever I have is called ECSD but I don't have a genetic profile. It isn't an IBL as I've grown those and they aren't the same at all.Something like that in the future would be a great tool for weeding out the IBL's and S1's, maybe?? Lucky for me, I like all of them!!

I know this pic is up in here already but this is the cut I have.You can tell that it never has "colas", just big chunks, all depending on how big the plant was.This bunch came from a giant one so the buds were a bit bigger.In my experience anyway you won't find a top much bigger than this on the ECSD clone, an IBL will generally have a bigger more cone shaped topend.You'll see when you go through all the pictures, you never see an ECSD with one long top cola.
I'm as clueless as anyone else, but I'd say 98% for sure Slip was running the real deal.
What I smoked of his was the best example of ECSD I've come across, and the time I was in his grow, the stench just assailed you upon entering, despite several scrubbers working overtime.
I would never have the balls to run this strain due to that, but goddamn, it's terrific weed!

its my opinion that the common N.E. ECSD passed around that may of have/had isn't the real deal stank. I had a different cut a while back that slammed you and your whole house with fuel/skunk the second it hit the grinder. Even opening the jar. Not saying that old one couldnt be an S1, it s just with these cuts that are hermi prone its hard to know unless you got it from the source and can trace it >>joe brand/brooklyn or w. mass, etc. Any way, so be it w/ sours, og's , bubbas, chems.
Back 8 years ago or so a friend of mine used to get ECSD buds he said came from the north east area, they were light green and they smelled just like spoiled milk, totally rotten horrendous stink.
He was an old smoker, I never questioned the legitimacy back then but it doesn't match the typical description I see on the internet when people say ECSD smells like fuel/skunk/diesel akin to OG Kush etc..
This was straight up rotten milk, almost too disgusting to want to smoke. I've never tried any other ECSD, only a good cut of the Sour D IBL that smells like a dumpster full of rotten garbage but different from what my friend had back then.

i couldn't say it any better than highlighter did, but i will add this without getting into the weeds [lol] that i search a long time for the real deal ecsd cut and am lucky enough to have same one, if what slip has is not it then there is no never never land. PP
jj 07 post....The Sour came out of my friends room. It's a certain mix of both, but more sativa dominated. No one is really sure of the exact breeding origins of the Sour. I first thought it was a Underdawg/Daywrecker X DNL cross, I now believe it is a Chem Dawg X DNL cross. I believe it's the DNL and not the Mass. SS because i've grown out both strains and they both have characteristisics of the Sour. I have not grown out Mass SS so my opinion could change. But we know the Mass SS does not have the same strech as the Sour. Mass SS grows shorter and has fatter buds. Where does that sativa growth come from? It has the same growth structure as the DNL, its growth and exoctic flavor combined with the flavor and strength of the Dawg is the Sour Diesel in my opinion. We do know that all three strains were present in his room at one time so we will never really know the real truth.........this was a copy and paste if jj has a problem with me posting this i will delete it right away

I'd concur with JJ's statement on the Sour being more representative of the DNL line. Just in smell alone you can smell where ECSD evolved form when smelling the DNL.
The rotten smelling herb would be chemdog.

I'm jealous of all you dudes with the sour cuts! ECSD has always been one of my favorite buds, since back in the day. But everything I've seen around called sour diesel for years has been some BS, rebranded something else. It's just not one of the cuts you see a lot of in my area, at least the legit ECSD. Plenty of fruity smelling "sour diesel" without the swollen calyxes or funk. It's a bummer

The smell is what does it for me. I think it's like Lemonheads. Just fucking crazy Lemon stink. The smell alone makes me pitch a tent. Real talk.
