I received a couple of tubes of this simpson-type ( ? ) oil and reading the insert ( see pic below ) it says and I quote " Cannabis oil is also an excellent replacement treatment for those looking to get off of the more dangerous and addictive narcotics when trying to relieve serious pain issues ".

Is that blowing smoke? I've got some of the best flowers anywhere and while I do get great benefit from cannabis, excercise, diet, yoga collectively, I find it hard to believe that this oil can act as a "replacement" for percocet/oxycodone.

What say you? Has anyone here used this type of treatment for serious chronic pain and would you mind telling of your experience? Helpful hints? Friendly warnings? Your recommendations considering patient suffers from severe degenerative disc disease cervical spine as well as advanced osteoporosis in lumbar, and is a heart patient so "taking the pain" is not as much of an option as the pain can stress the heart too much, and has been in pain management for several years. Thank you

Just my 2 cents here, but I don't think it has to be oil to be effective for such use. I have a pretty long history of opiate use, for both fun & as pain killer. Started with horrible sciatica a little less than 20 years ago. I quickly got the reflex to gobble codein (over the counter & very cheap here) in order to make the pain bare-able. Back problem evolved through the years, turned to lombalgia, and then to spondyloarthritis, and that one can be real nasty when the pain wakes up.
Past 5 years or so have seen me shifting between codein & kratom (stronger pain killing properties than morphine), sometimes even heroin when it was good enough, and I sure wasn't a light pill eater, with my "record" being 5 packs in a single day (20 x 20mg per box), but most of the time between 2 & 3 packs.
Both codein & kratom would make most of pain go away, but with me still feeling a little "something" in the back, thus limiting my movements.
It took a while for the right circumstances to set in, but I have at last kicked both kratom and the darn pills, and I can shift at last to cannabis. At the beginning of this month I was still at 500 to 800mg of codein daily and now is zero.
Well, it's been just a few days now, but now all I have to do is brew some tea with about 0.20gr of Z7 (from CBD Crew) and I'm all good. No back pain, at all, and the comfy, warm body-buzz makes that I certainly don't miss that one opiated body-buzz.
I guess the real test will be the day my back decides to play nasty, but I'm in no hurry and have nothing to complain about so far.

No reason to turn my Z7 into oil. Brewing the tea takes 2 minutes.Water, small chunk of butter, bring to a boil, add a little milk, sugar & done. It takes a few minutes before the effect to show up.

Good day, I have a thread dedicated to cannabis cures:
https://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=257926

As well, I have (2) torn and bulged discs in my back. I have been using cannabis in all forms to alleviate the pain. The oil I would have to say is the most beneficial to me, in pain relief (as well as others that I know whom have taken it for cancer and are CURED!). If you start off with the "Rick Simpson" scheduling (start with a half size of grain of rice), you'll establish a tolerance to it, and not be put out first go.
I personally use 1-2 grams a day, as a preventive measure (but I started along time ago), and I function just as normal. Start small then increase as tolerable. Good luck on your adventure. Be well. ToT:tiphat:

I dont have to take pain killers or steroids for my chrons anymore. Nor will I have to get painful surgery after painful surgery removing parts of my bowls. No colostomy bag for me later in life it seems now.

That's an amazing story. I wish I had some of that!

I think pain is a very subjective sensation which varies greatly from person to person and as such people will have very different reactions to treatments for it or even how they experience pain to begin with.

Personally I have found that all forms of cannabis including the full spectrum concentrates and oils have some minor to moderate pain killing effects that are on a similiar level to that granted by an NSAID pain relievers rather than the more powerful opiates, but I have heard from other chronic pain suffers that cannabis is as good as heavy opiates for their pain, but then again they are often on very high doses of medical MJ to achieve those results.

I personally find cannabis to be a decent pain medication in that although it may not be as strong as the opiates it doesn't come with the horrifying physical dependance which is a massive benefit. Similarly it is much better than the NSAIDs for me as well in that I don't bleed internally from marijuana use, where as the NSAIDs leave me defecating blood after two days of low dose use. I will live the rest of my life with permanent damage done to my stomach and intestinal lining by those damn over the counter NSAID drugs I took for years on end assuming they were safe.

i find cannabis flowers, bubble, and oil/wax, etc, when smoked, does have some moderate pain relief.
i have 1 laminectomy, for a herniated disc, a tumor removed in feb from my pelvis, and more pain now, another MRI scheduled, but I think it is more disc shit, i have severe ddd as well...and was handcuffed behind my back 3 weeks agoo, and fell down, and couldnt stop my fall(pig wasnt holding me up, like they shouldve been., and with hands behind me, i couldnt stop)
anyways, i have found that cannabis definitely REDUCES the amount of pain meds needed. i get 100mg hydrocodone a day, since i dont like the oxycodone. without cannabis, i feel it would be a million times higher. even when i run out of meds, the cannabis helps drastically, for without it id be hella sick
so i want to quit the opiates. but, as the OP said,' just deal with the pain' or 'everyone has back pain'...no, those dont cut it, its real

sorry to hijack your thread.
yes, i honestly feel it works with the opiates, so make patientsd need less. AUGMENTS thats the word i wanted
peace

'tis the shit!!!

a little over five years back i had to quit working. had had back pain for years, suffered through fusion surgery on L4-L5,S1...needless to say, insurance ended with the job and i was left to deal with the pain. same time i quit work i began smoking again and the cannabis allowed me withdrawal from the opiates and benzos.

after that first year off the demerol the pain began fading and only occasionally reeturns with stressful lifting or many hours on my feet.

more recently i discovered a lesion on my scalp and started taking simpson oil for it. the lesion had been scabbing and bleeding off and on for over a year before i began the oil.

after just weeks of treating (oral 1cc) the lesion stopped bleeding, scabbed over one last time, and after the scab fell off appeared healthy scar tissue.

i continue treatment for other reasons too. soothed my IBS, helps with appetite among other benefits.

i believe...

As Trichrider put it:
"'tis the shit!!!…i believe…”

I too have had first hand pain relief experience w/ cannabis…I wouldn’t have had much 'quality of life’ during various parts of the past 10 years w/o cannabis.
My best results so far, have been after drinking cannabis infused milk…it’s amazing stuff! It has helped me through some tough moments, most significantly as my hip & thigh bones died (/die) and collapsed, wrecking my back in the process…

I know it might sound like hyperbole to some, but Cannabis really has improved nearly all aspects of my life, helping me cope with pain, anxiety, stress and nausea, lifting my spirits, bringing my family closer, even leading me to love! Cannabis has given me so much!!

…So yeah, I believe! ;)

Well, I have not found any cannabis or cannabis product that's nearly strong enough to serve as an alternative to the percocets. That said, I've been able to use cannabis and cannabis products in addition to excercises approved by my physical therapist at a website called rebuildyourback.com and have been successful in reducing my intake from 5-6 10-325's a day to 1.25-1.75 a day.

I had high hopes for that gold oil in the caps as well as the chocolates like the bhang bars but they constipated me even more than the opioids and I'm definitely one of those who is affected quite negatively in that regard from opioids. I read that they approved something in the UK that has claims to not affecting people who are affected by opioids but I'm not in the UK. So it's a suck position to be in and at times I'm just hanging on. I'd like to take more sometimes but the price I have to pay is just too high.

I would give everything I have and I know my wife would not disagree with me at all, everything, give it all up to just be pain free and not have to use the opioids at all .

Been on opiates for going on eight years. Been using MJ for much longer.
Nerve damage causes most of my pain, although the colon cancer is not exactly a picnic in the sun.

Morphine sulfate and MJ oil. The MJ allows less than half the dose of morphine to be effective.
At times the opiate cannot control the pain and leave me coherent at the same time. This comes up less often with the oil.

If the hard choice had to be made the morphine would be given up before the marijuana.

It all depends on the type of pain. Having a fingernail pulled off is definitely opiate pain., same for kidney stone passage.
Nerve damage in broken feet respond better to smoke. Usually a combo using both works the best for me.
