Nevilles Haze X Everything....

Guilty as charged, lazy! The whole room just came down and those lamps are hanging and waiting for work. The 600 is still on, it's closer to the canopy than it looks but this plant has a circle of 2, 400's and 3, 600's around the sides about 2ft off the ground. When that big plant is done I'm bulldozing the place!!:)

Slip Kid,

Thanks for keeping this thread going with all your very productive and beautiful looking grows. Good job. I do have a request: Please write up some detailed smoke reports of the effects of these different plants. I would love to read about how they differ from each other and other strains you have smoked. Are they different from each other, or do they differ in taste only. What about potency differences.

Everyone Else:

This thread is looking like it should be named "Slip Kid's Grows". Does anyone else have any Neville's crosses going on?

I am patiently waiting for my flowering room to clear, and my two little Neville's x Burmese x Neville's x Hawaiian Haze x Neville's babies to show their gender.

Here they are a while back. They haven't grown much lately since they are so slow growing, but I'll try to get some more recent pictures this weekend.

Cheers,

ThaiBliss

Yes indeed I will. The first Sour BX is dried and set in a glass jar to soften up a bit.It has themost sour, smudgy smell, it really stokes me up to see how it's coming out.All the rest are on a long full plant drying session.I cut this good sized Nevilles this morning and took this crazy pic.She looks great and smells even better...:)

Oh yeah Otto, yes there's agood chance it's an EP.She was so stout in veg I figured she had to be the G-13 but at this point she's likely an EP.She's real smelly and super fast.:)

If it is EP, here's a bit of background on "early pearl"

Nev on mns said:
Early Pearl came from Rob Clark. He would be the best person to tell about its ancestry.
I seem to recall that it was from Krazy Karol and Early Girl or Polyanna and Early Girl.
Krazy Karol was a Mexican, fairly early for a Mex.
N.

So, Early Girl came from Sam. It was Mex x Afghan.
Rob C took that and crossed it with Krazy Karol or Polyanna to make Early Pearl.

Nev said it needed Skunk to be complete, but that was the tool he had to work with back then.
I think the MMS5 will skunk the $#%@ out of it ;-)
The female smells like rotting mango.

Can you describe the smells you are getting from her now?
I've heard Early Pearl described as fruity/spicy.

gman described the smell of his:
smells like cat piss skunk when growing. super skunk an lime smell in bag. when smoked tastes like limey pinsole, very piney taste. 4 ziploc bags cant hold her down when fresh. Gotta bring on the vac an seals when transporting.
G13 on the other hand, is usually described as having some foul odor, depending on the amount of hashplant influence.

As soon as I can get my lazy ass to sort the seeds and I can send them to the server fund.I outsourced a lb of seeded sour d to be de seeded and they came back good but with a few whiteys.I still havn't smoked it yet but I've choked on the scissor hash for a week or so.I think if I was more confident they'd be out there now but I worry.Sorting seed is worse than cutting bud, it drives me mental but I hope that within a month they'll be on seedbay.I just have to smoke some of these diff phenos to be sure I didn't create a dud...:)They'll be affordable as hell, I promise that. I still have another seeded 1/2 lb to cull too.My biggest worry is bring "shit" into somebodys garden.Sometimes I have low self esteem...:tiphat:

I'm a fairly lightwieght smoker so any type of smoke effect description I give will be tainted by that factor more than any other.Cracking my jar of chem D and smoking half a skinny joint will leave me high enough to not leave the shop for 4 or 5 hrs or runaway altogether. This sour stuff I smoked up yesterday had me up on my feet and doing much of the work I'd set aside like floor cleaning, finally collecting all my used coco and turning it into the garden, re-hanging all my drying plants etc.Basically I went from a mental morass into a worker bee.I couldn't get shit done yesterday morning and after a smoke I was on my feet and I'm extremely paranoid about bringing grow trash outside and the amount I rid myself of yesterday makes me sure I'll pack this weed away. The chem or the sister would never have let me outside with all that coco and that pile of crusty buckets of every size, shape and color...:)I do like to smoke a bit of that D clone though, it's like asking for an arrow in the back.:tiphat:

Slip - Thanks for the description. Sounds good.

:tiphat:

If you notice that smoking makes you paranoid about the trash, then that is a sign that you need to solve that problem. I used to have that issue with grow medium. I have a 50' x 50' vegetable garden that would eat it up, but I could only put it there if I was about to do some rototilling in spring or fall. I finally went to these clay balls with pumice on the inside. I forget what they are called. It has made a world of difference. I just have to shake off the roots, rinse them, and bake them in the oven before using them again. I'm organic hydroponic now. It grows much better, but the final product still does not taste as good as regular dirt. Not sure that can be replicated, but I don't have spider mite and thrip problems anymore.

Cheers,

Below is the latest picture of my Neville’s x Burmese x Neville’s x Hawaiian Haze x Neville’s baby. This individual doesn’t look like much, but their Neville’s Haze mother was top shelf smoke. Lately, smoke like this comes around once a decade for me. The mother was handicapped by slow growth characteristics, pale yellow/green color, and tiny buds. In fact, the mother really did not produce buds indoors. It was more like a string of pearls or occasional bunches of a half dozen to a dozen of small calyxes. A sister of these two actually produced buds, if only some of the tinniest I have ever grown.

The effect of the smoke is where the mother plant really shined. The first time I smoked, I had three hits. After five minutes, I thought it was a dud. I was sitting down, doing some menial chore, and it hit me. It was a full blown tripping phase shift. One moment, I barely felt a buzz, and the next moment it was like I was “coming to” or waking up. I don’t know if it hit me in one second or if I was sitting there for five minutes with a slack jaw. For a moment, time disappeared. It was just like mushrooms or acid, except after the phase shift, I still only felt a minor buzz. It was significantly stronger than the initial buzz before the phase shift, but that is not saying much.

From there on the buzz slowly built up, very slowly. The phase shift and building buzz was significant enough to cause a bit of anxiousness. It was not paranoia like some strains give me, but a sense of impending doom in the pit of my stomach. That sounds worse than it really was. I just don’t know how to describe it correctly.

After about 30 minutes I was feeling really high. The anxiousness had left me, as the buzz started to feel familiar, like the great Thai Stick of my youth. I really liked that buzz. Then as I was peaking, I felt a wave of warmth slowly wash over my body, and a euphoria that was something that I don’t remember from the Thai Stick. It was real nice.

I now had the impulse to get outside and scan the horizon of the world, albeit with squinted bloodshot eyes. It was like seeing the world for the first time, like being a young child again. Everything was beautiful and vibrant. I’d focus straight ahead, but the “seeing” was as much or more in my peripheral vision. Everything was being taken in all at once. I was noticing that wildlife was much more abundant than I usually notice. It was almost like animals and plants were noticing that I was noticing them, and they wanted to come closer. Light was more colorful as if it was sunset or sunrise, but very brilliant. Heavy eye squinting was going on.

I don’t know how many of you have experienced this type of buzz. It was far more common in the ’70s and early ‘80s than it has been since the indica invasion in the United States. My friends and I used to find weed like this every year or so back then. Usually it was from exotic places like Columbia, Thailand, or Jamaica. Hallucinogenic is the best description/classification of the effects. Indica gets me high also, but narcotic is the dominant trait. I’m not sure this high would be welcomed by everyone, but I grew up on it. It gives me energy.

After about an hour, my wife wanted us to take the car and go to town. Uh oh! I drove for about a mile, and decided that she should drive. This is significant, because I normally like to drive, no matter how enlightened I happen to be at the moment. It was more because of how I looked, with aforementioned eyes and a permanent grin plastered to my face that made it very obvious how I was feeling. My young daughter had been looking at me earlier with inquisitiveness, and a smirk. She could tell something strange was up, but couldn’t help smiling back in response to my cheek tiring grin. If our car got stopped for some reason, the jig would have been up.

I’m hoping to find an offspring like the Neville’s mother. I’m willing to grow these plants despite such slow growth that they take four months to mature before I even start flowering. Once flowering, they ripen much faster than the mother did because of the crossings I have done with it. They also grow much faster under the bright lights and the longer dark cycles of the flowering cabinet.

Does anyone else find Neville’s Haze individuals like this? Are there other strains that people have like this, but with more vigor and/or actual buds? I need to find a daughter like the mother, and another strain like this that I can cross it to. Any suggestions anyone?

Slip Kid's plants look like the antidote to the vigor problem, to say the least, and the paranoia is promising, but only if Slip Kid finds an individual that knocks your socks off. It also cannot make me tired. I don't tolerate that anymore.

I don't actually like paranoia, but I have never experienced paranoia without the strain also being strong and energetic.

B.T.W. - The fat leaves came from the Burmese genetics. It also had very sturdy stems. The Neville's Haze mother was the only one in the pack with extremely thin leaves, yellow color, and stems that flopped over even without buds. I grew it anyway because it looked and smelled like Thai.

All the Best,

ThaiBliss

My own experience with the Nevilles females was probably 70% were fairly racey and stony, made the grade for smoking but there were better plants. The rest, a few were damme close to being hay or hemp with bud clusters as 3ft long and 6 inches wide and very little high, not impotent but not keepers. The keepers were killer, maybe 2 or 3 plants, I think 2 went over 100 days and the best one was 80-85 days and strong as a haze can be, at least from my own, one man band experience. The only "haze" that was ever stronger than this one was a Nevilles Mango we found at a friends shop that went about 95 days and was a heart stopper but that's just me and my one buddy Zen, being growers, we're more likely to have a "white out" than our average smoker.Sams Thunk mixed with Toms Strawberry Hill was devastating too but my clone croaked.Where I'm at haze is not on the menu. You'll never see it unless you grow your own.:)The best part of the Nevilles is finding the good one, keeping that and laughing at bugs and pests, some of the plants are exotic specimens and priceless to a grow geek but they won't impress your friends who want chemdog...

^^i agree so much with the last part slip ..only a true geek would be excited by the fact u have some 12-14 week haze in ur pocket ..but most people won't respect it they'll choose sour D or OG first ...it's a big reason why NYC piff haze puday whatever u like to call it has borderline disappeared ..or has been hybridized with alot of indica to swell and finish fast ..

My last 2 runs has been all strong indicas ..that was my motivation to pop all those haze crosses ..I think haze is the perfect summer weed ..nothing like starting your day fresh and clean 90 degrees outside with a soaring haze high ..

I'm smoking on blue dream till my plants come down starting in 2 weeks ..but comparing the last time I grew these crosses and the high to this blue dream ..and the Nevs haze walks this shit ..BD is really stony and the high last a lil longer than most strains but the high is boring like blueberry ..the best thing BD has going for it is the aroma ..which it gets from the haze side of the family ..it can leave a room smelling really insencey for a long time ..but the flavor is only like a 5 or 6 ...compared to the flavor on these Nevs crosses ..

Nice Melty!! I'm happy to hear that.Wait until you see my bath tub grow of the Lucifer F2 #1 cut.Best plant I've grown in that bathtub yet, I've got 20 gal of coco on a 2 drip ring watering system and she takes down over 4gal a day easy.I've been tying her up all over as the buds start to gain weight and tip.:) I built a new veg room today, around 4x8ft and all my seedlings are growing well and they'll be out of the 3x3 closet in short order.I finally had the time to trim all the sour BX.It was hung 15 days then trimmed and set in plastic to sweat a day or two. Here's my trim station, my back is aching from standing all day....:)
