I agree with you BlueJayWay. What is a FPE going to give us better than we are already getting from the 24 hour bubbled teas and the super high quality vermicompost?
some kats get a kick off of growing ther own nutrients & its not like these tea's & dregs;dont make great compost drenches or worm food..

for some one who grows alot of "plants",its a litttle impractical to bubble, apply & make the amount of quality compost for such a demand..
simple ease, multi tasking & time saving alternative of a greater iLL

It would be like taking your buds and sticking them in a bucket of water - think there's any compounds left such as THC and the others that you worked tirelessly to create?

oh, so no love for fpes..just picked a bunch of comfrey leaves. i don't have a worn bin or compost so in my case mulching would be better option, or some sort of aerated or quick soak tea?

Use it as a mulch like Blue Jay Way has & does. I modified it a bit by chopping it up and mixing it with 2 parts compost or EWC.

Comfrey has a very low C:N ratio - 9.8:1 so it acts like it almost melts into the soil in a very few days. If you cover the leaves with compost or EWC even without chopping them it will go faster.

BJW, I've been reading through your No Till thread this morning - very informative; what a nice thread.

Thank you.

Cool man - Thanks Jerry, this should be interesting to watch develop - all the facets of indoor no-till gardens - we should be able to check back in 5, 10 years and see plants growing in the same containers. Vibrant, healthy and heavy yielding as ever!

Speaking of heavy yielding no-tills - ive been kind of documenting the growth of a couple plants in the ROLS thread, here she is if you havnt checked it out, otherwise sorry for the double post LOL...

I wasn't sure what to expect when I dropped this Thai Sativa dominant Velvet Rush x NL#5/H into an 18gal tote of living soil that would be starting its 6th flowering cycle....pictures at 12 to 13 weeks....

:D

I'm trying to add up the costs of direct inputs in that specific container over the last year its been in use....I don't think I could get above.... $20...$30?

The hrs I've spent starring at the plants growing is probably the highest cost, I pay myself a high hourly rate LOL

wow this is really cool! I bet the smoke comes out killer..I have been running a organic/vegan system for quite a while, going to put some of my old soil to work in a setup like this!

What is a good size pot for a single plant no-till setup? The plants will be eight weeks old from time of cutting in 3 gallon fabric pots. Would 7 be good? I can fit up to a 30 but it cuts my numbers in half. I can handle (6) 7 gals. or (3) 30 gal. Or would 30 be a waist for 1 plant? 10,15,20 gal be better? Either way once I get over 7 gal I think Im going to cut my numbers in half just because of my lighting situation. I have (3) 400 watt hps and 3 strains. Would I yield more off (2) 7 gal pots or 1 bigger pot with a no till setup?

Running only a 400 watt light, I would guess some of the larger sizes would be a waste of time. I use a 400 and am switching over from 6 three gallon SIPs to 4 five gallon buckets, FWIW. A larger sized bed calls for a bigger light.

Kinda what I was thinking. I might go with a few 10's or 15. Grow space size and shape limits my lighting options.
