She's arguing apples, you're arguing oranges. I like both. Let's add some bananas, cherries and watermelons to our E-Mails and let them have the whole fuking fruit salad. Let the lawyers sort it out. I'm not a lawyer and etc, etc....blah blah

I'm not an attorney either. But the ones I've spoken to about it say they legally can't according to the documents referenced in my last post. They say it's like beating them with their own rules.

Any Senators or Assemblymen that I hear back from, assuring me, "Everything Is Going To Be Alright," I write them back and ask if they are willing to appear in court as a witness on my behalf, based on our email conversations, if this thing passes and I get arrested for continuing to grow my own. I haven't gotten any responses to this inquiry; but hopefully it rings around their little noggins. I'd hate to think they would send us pacifying E-mails while pushing this thing through. Politicians wouldn't do such a sneaky thing would they? Violation of Due Process maybe? Elepphino??

Exactly, for who, the few or the many. Unfortunately, We're the many who get screwed in the money grab. Ooh, I'm gonna use that in my next E Mail....got to send a few more...

I heard back from Tick about two hours after my first EMail and Assemblywoman Fiore the next day. Tick said he's "working on removing the no grow language" (whatever in the Hell that means, as its His Freakin Amendment) and Fiore's response was to talk to Tick; but if it gets to her she'll get into it more deeply. She seemed amicable.
The legislature comments section is getting more and more great comments. Don't forget to vote early and vote often, ahem....

Assemblywoman Fiore is a decent woman. Have spoken personally to her twice and she is open to hearing both sides of a discussion. Could be lip service but she does seem genuine.

Well let's try to stop this thing tomorrow so it doesn't even get to the Assembly. I'm getting tired of thinking about this shit and need to move on.

For what it's worth, Assemblyman James Oscarson is another that answers his own calls and will take time to listen to his constituents. Pretty rare amongst politicians today. But his only role in all this would be to vote yes or no on the bill itself as his committee assignment has nothing to do with the bill.

Good to know, thanks Resin! As you know they need 2/3 majority to pass this, so the more noise we make, the more noise we make, so to speak. Otherwise, it's a greased pig and will slide right through.

Yeah I'm tiring of something that should have never been an issue to start with.
From what I was told, tomorrow will not really be a day for new testimony but as much for followup on everything that has been presented up to this point but they may take new testimony that points toward any new financial impact but that they would be limited to what could be said, if that makes any sense. lol
Will be interesting to see if Tick removes that no grow provision tomorrow or not.

Well if he doesn't remove it, he's going to get an avalanche of mail and calls. And that's just from me. Even though the Senate Finance Comm is meeting behind closed doors, our E-mails and comments are getting through, so I hope we're represented in that meeting even though we're not there.

Oh no bro. The work session is done in a public forum so what happens will be the peoples business. They'll review everything pertinent to the bill, take any new amendments or amendment removals into consideration, weigh testimony for and against, review all information received on the bill, and get clarification for any questions they may have before making any further decision if to hold it or pass it on.
They may allow new testimony but the person I spoke with said they may limit the scope of it. So who knows what they would allow. The guy did say that a more focused public testimonial period would be allowed and probably better served when the bill moves on to the Assembly Judiciary Committee and then the next one after that before going to the house side for a vote.
Have gotten a better civics lesson the past several weeks that I ever got in 11th grade civics, lol. WAY more than I ever cared to know about the process, that's for sure!!
So emails and calls are important at this point and from now on through every committee that gets it.
It's the shenanigans that go on behind closed doors, like Hutchison adding that shit, that we only find out about when the light of day accidentally shines on it that we find out about them. Sometimes the light burns ya ass!!
BTW, the guy remembered talking with my bro before the last hearing and told him he had ignited a lot of calls and emails about this and was laughing with him about it and actually gave information to help with the cause on breaking down how the process works. Something he didn't have to do. So he knows the name. Now if that's a good thing or a bad thing is another story, lol

At least they're showing their hand as far as the amendment goes.

In Michigan they would have held it tight and slipped it in right before the vote. Hell, the last time they changed our act for the worse they did it in the middle of the night.

The official time of passage was 4:20 A.M.

Yeah, real cute...

Michigan actually has it's first committee hearing tomorrow for our dispensary bill.
"A bill to regulate medical marihuana provisioning centers and
other related entities"

Yep, regulate us right out of growing...

Sounds like edible providers, labs, grow rooms, etc like they are trying to set up here. For a modest fee and police background check of course.

Yeah, unfortunately it will mean whatever the legislature wants it to mean. The language going in is never the same as the language coming out. I can't help but be skeptical.

I sure hope it works out for you guys out there.:tiphat:

Thanks mucho, They have to show their hand tomorrow. I hope they're not stupid enough to forward a dispensary bill that pisses off their potential customers from the git go. If they're concerned with controlling mmj "from seed to weed," as Hutchison put it, that is reasonable for the large dispensary cultivators they envision. But we individual patients are already controlled "from seed to weed" by virtue of the fact that we're limited to seven plants...total.
Am I preaching to the choir? Anyway, good luck to us all tomorrow.
